5.3: You can now only queue as a solo player into Battlegrounds.

From the PTS Notes:
"You can now only queue as a solo player into Battlegrounds."

This is an extremely bad choice. Preventing players from grouping with friends at all for BGs is a complete non-starter for many of us. I get there should be a solo queue and I understand why that could have knock-on effects in terms of queue times for groups. But to prevent it entirely is a huge problem.

I have several friends where what we enjoy in MMOs is instanced PvP. We play together for that reason. Cyrodil is laggy as crap and fights are infrequent if you aren't riding a zerg. BGs offer an alternative of a balanced game (in terms of player numbers, anyway).

This is NOT the answer to group-vs-solo queues in BGs. This will drive players away. There has to be another solution.

Yeah, I don't play ESO to be a solo player. If I wanted to play a solo PvP experience or play the game solo, I'd play a different game that wasn't a MMO.

There's plenty of better options to improve the queues, but ZOS is just taking the easiest band-aid route that is just going to drive more players away.

There needs to be a lobby system before this happens. My bg guild of 180+ runs dedicated teams against each other every weekend. This change will kill us.

the problem is this doesn't only impact the groups of 4 running optimized group setups with a dedicated healer or two, it also impacts the random buddies queuing together to learn pvp and the game together. Which is not to the benefit of the game.

I think this change is amazing tbh but it would be better if the was a solo queue and a premade queue.

I am completely okay with this. I am not okay with losing an option to play with a friend.

I do not understand the logic in this change.

This is a terrible change. A lot of people will no longer que and this change will make people not want to play. I love to que as a duo with my wife and just relax so now we can't play together in a MASSIVE MULTIPLAYER ONLINE game. Catering to the solo players is exactly how you lose customers because we pay to play online with friends. If we have to play solo why shouldn't we just go play solo player games that don't actually have a monthly fee to have everything? Lol

    Oh my god YES!

But please add another queue for grouping. Removing it completely cannot be a PERMANENT solution!
Or just allow duo's, if thats on the table, the impact of a 2 man is not comparable to a full 4 premade.

A massive change like this should be explained so that we understand the rationale. I get that running into full premades with optimized groups (especially healing) in BGs sucks, but some of my best moments in ESO are duo queues with a friend, both of us as DPS. Is that really what this change is meant to address?

Hell, I've had just as punishing experience in BGs when good players are on another team and have a healer, all random queues, as I've had vs some premades. The problem is less groups and more certain builds/playstyles imo.

I think there should be two separate queues for solo and group play. I will say that this is better than what it was. How it is on live solo players are getting screwed and being farmed by organized groups.

It's a good, but imperfect change.

So now zos ensured that you wont be able to play mmo game with your friends or forced to play unplayable cyrodiil that is equal to not play at all... How about change cyrodiil instance to no longer allows to group too than to get rid of ballgroups there too?
Even in Neverwinter devs kept possibility to duo q for arenas.

I mostly play solo BG but this is a very stupid decision... At least make a separate mode.

Let's not forget in the end this is an MMO where you play with your friends and other people...

imperfect seems an understatement - this will drive a lot of us away. it never seems like a good thing to restrict people from playing with friends in an MMO...

Well, i don't know, I'm not convinced. Veteran players are already really frustrated having to face premades when you queue solo or with 1 person, so I can't even imagine this when you are discovering the game. It is probably more something that would disgust me from PvP and then, can't benefit to the game.
Though, I totally agree with the fact a second queue should be made for groups.

Same here, I spend 90% of my time in ESO doing BGs with my wife, if they remove our ability to play together the appeal to continue playing is just removed... and to be clear I have never written "thats it Im done with this game before".

I do not understand the logic in this change.

What happens to people who are in premade groups of two or three? if there's a solo and a premade queue, how are groups with fewer than four people going to get filled? I've thought about separate queues before too, and I always get stuck here.

I guess there could be an option for solo players to elect to get put into the group queue too, but in the end I don't think that the number of people playing BGs who would do that is large enough. And I think that a huge reason why that is is because so many of us have pugged in, only to get stomped by highly organized premades. There's nothing less fun that solo queueing in only to be faced with a group of four experts. Sure, a pug can try to organize itself, but it's very difficult for a group of strangers to strategize ways to take these groups down in less than 15 minutes. It's just not really viable.

as someone who just recently came back to BGs with a couple of new people (we have never had more than 2 in a group, and they legit know nothing), premades aren't quite as frustrating as they were when I was at a higher MMR years ago. The reason is because we generally do not face incredibly organized group s at our MMR and so even with 2 of us we have a chance.

The only really frustrating case is when teams have dedicated and tanky healers/guard players.

Same I have a select group of people that I spend huge amounts of time bging with I won’t be done with the game per se but the amount of time I spend on it will severely diminish.

This is a horrible change. Frankly totally unwanted.

You need to revert the solo q change immediately. Player feedback my a***.

What players asked for was a proper system with both solo and group queue (in our wildest dreams maybe duo queue), where teams don't get matched and put up with people solo queuing. They also asked for an mmr fix so we don't play with the same 10 ppl every single day.

This is a very big and sick joke that will have a massive impact and cause an outrage. Just no.

So what, were there not enough actual groups to warrant a group queue? Or what? There's no communication on the rationale for this change, just "we're watching it." It is really frustrating as someone that enjoys this game's pvp but prefers to do so with a friend in an instanced setting.

I welcome the MMR reset, as a predominantly solo players BGs might be my main thing to do, no more will i have to go against 2 guard builds making it near impossible to kill somebody on the team. But I also understand the boomers who casually play with their wives or whatever not liking this. Maybe implement an OW kinda rank system with it comes to parties, you can queue with whoever you want up until you hit a certain MMR rank, after you hit that rank you can only solo on that character.

This is one of the FEW things zos has ever done to please solo players (mainly pvpers) so ya i understand why some wont like it if it stays but im super *** excited!

the problem with this change is that it does NOT make guardplars go away completely, it just means that they won't be with an organized group. but they are nearly as annoying when you run into them solo as they are in a group IMO. And instead this screws some of us that just want to relax with a friend out of playing.

They should implement a solo competitive queue IMO.

I agree a solo/duo queue is the best solution and add a full premade(group of 4)option that play only vs other premade.

LOL. Yea, the logic is lacking when in an MMORPG you force players to play solo in a group activity.

Hopefully this is just to prove to those who complain about premades the issue is not premades.
