Doesnt matter. Its gonna be half-baked, the trial is going to be a mini-trial, and the story is gonna revolve around boring Lyris.

Oh and of course whatever new system they bring in is going be P2W as all hell.

I hope they have Shalidor's Maze as a trial, it could be so cool (you know, assuming they stop doing sweeping changes for long enough to make me actually want to play the game.)

Will they once again lock the only decent looking motifs behind collector edition aswell? I bet they will.

eh in both chapters i felt the collectors edition styles were the weakest ones of all available

compared to the skyrim dragon scale/plate armor, the eso one looks pretty bad imo...

Skyrim / Cyrodil make most sense for the next two..followed by hammerfell before TES VI releases....would fit with a TES 2023/24 release which seems reasonable

The weak part about an Skyrim chapter is that its more of the same, we have two Skyrim zones already.
Yes we already had Dunmer zones and an Altmer and Khajiit zones but the new lands was different enough.
If so I would hope for western Skyrim with marchart and the reachmen.

guys, guys, i hear "Hammerfell" was suppose to be next. other than that, Winterhold might be a teaser. but there is possiblity of Markarth, or part of Solitude region, or Dawnstar.
Falkreach and Whiterun are little too warm, and Morthal little too wet.

one is still on my wishlist, Blackreach.

that catguy wearing winter coat, look like is getting ready for winter festival.

edit to note that Hammerfell, actaully located just off south-west of Markarth and north-west of Cyrodiil's Colovian Highland.. and Southern parts of Craglorn.

Title literally has the word spoiler in it, you have been warned. Skyrim has been contentiously teased over the past year such as in crown store backgrounds, with this dlc teasing it very hard. Below are just two references from many that have name dropped skyrim, or teased it. This is the same manner elsweyr was teased. I predict Skyrim will release 2020, which many people will argue that it makes more sense for a skyrim chapter to release in 2021 since it would be the 10th year anniversary, but oblivion's 15th year anniversary is also in 2021. So Skyrim 2020, and the rest of Cyrodil 2021.

If West Skyrim is the next chapter, then it could be "Year of the Reach," but if Northern Skyrim (Winterhold/Dawnstar) is the next chapter then I could see it being called "Year of the Draugr" or "Year of the Frost." Any of those works for me, as long as I get to see some snow.

Hopefully this Skyrim expansion will bring the Dawnguard and the Volkihar Clan again, and we'll meet Serana before she got stuffed in that coffin...

I'd also love to see the Labyrinthian as a Trial/Group Dungeon and the Blackreach in ESO as well.

Well seeing as Serana didn't even know about an Empire based in Cyrodiil, she was likely "stuffed" in the coffin pre- eso timeline, most likely before or during the beginning of the Allesian rebellion.

The evidence is definitely strong for Skyrim now. The clues are pretty much copy-paste from the ones we had on previous chapters/DLCs.

Personally, like others, I still think it's too soon. There is just so much MORE on Elder Scrolls to explore outside of Skyrim...

The College of Winterhold on its full glory would be an awesome idea, but still, I'd rather they explore other things first.

I honestly think a Chapter outside of Tamriel would be very welcome to change things up a little bit. Summerset and Elsweyr were a little too structurally alike for me.

As seen its an huge area in Skyrim Easy three zones.

Same with hammerfell who goes all the way to the edge of Cyrodil.
And zone between Craglorn and Reaper March and the gold coast

The zone between reapers march, the gold coast and cyrodill is actually the colovian highland wich is part of cyrodiil and is on the alikr boarder

I expect we'll make it to 2022 before ZOS stops releasing major content. Skyrim and Cyrodiil will cause population spikes, but it'll be a steep decline after that. Old games don't age well on new consoles. And I suspect new MMOs will be out by then too.

Hopefully ZOS has been/will be working on a new MMO since they have a good team. I'd love to see what they can do with a modern engine.

I am really not looking forward to anything new ZOS has to say about Skyrim. By the time the bean counters get a hold of it (pun intended) , it will be a tiny little place, compared to TES5, with the standard cookie-cutter number of delves, bosses, and dungeons, but chock full of chained up doors. I am sure the devs would do the best they can, but with nothing to work with, the whole thing would be just phoning it in. The only way they could do that province justice would be to take the next 2 years of Chapters and Zone DLC, and I don't see them doing that.

Genuine question: how it it “too early” for a skyrim chapter?

It came out in 2011, did these people play the game two years ago or something?

My thinking is that the 10 year anniversary is very attractive to a marketing person, so 2021 is the Big Year. Whether they start that story in 2020 and finish it in 2021, or just do it all in 2021, that is yet to be seen.

Genuine question: how it it “too early” for a skyrim chapter?

It came out in 2011 but still had several versions being released recently.

Compare it with Oblivion. It came out just 5 years before Skyrim, but it "feels" a lot longer, like 10 or more years before.

    Why?

Oblivion was done once it was done. No more new versions, no releases on other platforms.

Skyrim was re-released and re-mastered a dozen times on new platforms. Even people that are not huge fans might have played the game for a second time as recently as 2-3 years back when the addons came to the new generation of consoles (like I did).

It is not just about the launch date.

I actually guessed this based on the fact that we've seen two of the original four return already (Tharn and Sai), so Lyris was bound to be next. Given the dialogue with Sai in the prologue, it kind of cemented that idea. I am willing to bet we'll see Varen again soon too.

On top of that I'm sure ESO is going to coordinate the release of TES 6 Zone with the corresponding Zone in ESO so they can do some sort of crossover thing with rewards to boost sales on both sides. (Like : Buy TES 6 and get an exclusive mount in ESO and vice versa), so that means they need to capitalize on Skyrim before that.

Saw this coming a mile away and honestly, I'm okay with it. Skyrim was going to happen at some point, might as well be next.

Edit : Fixed Lyris' name. Stupid Auto correct
