    Discords were really useful discussions.

To make them vanish without warning means people lost track of others in the community and of information they assumed would be there for reference later. Especially the theory crafting side related to changes.

Would have been smarter to make them read only until the rep system was back.

Establishing trust between the community and the reps was also a long road that has been dynamited.

Very poor social skills evident at Zos' end -do you folks not have human resource/media staff? You don't just delete Discord community boards in the middle of the night...

Your description "rant like an ex-girlfriend" is imho accurate (I read that rant back then) and funny, but also not very nice to the person in question. It's all-in-one :-)

I just wanted to set the Tasear "story" as straight as I could. I don't know about Checkmath since I haven't followed it at all.
And As it looks, @Joy_Division hasn't been banned at all from the forum, but was excluded from the class rep programme for having explained some of ZOS visions for combat, which was interpreted by ZOS as NDA-breach. A coin always has two sides and it's hard to tell right from wrong - especially for us outsiders

I'm still here, just not with the Rep program. Yes, I explained ZOS's reasoning for Pummeling Goliath (because we have not had any meetings or any planned), which was interpreted as NDA breech. I don't have any hard feelings. I just disliked how much less communication was going on with the program, which was I thought the entire purpose of it in the first place. Maybe things will change. I don;t know.

Well cant say you didnt try then. 😕

It’s sad that the rep program is plagued by all this stuff (and NDA breaches on top of that). I can’t blame if ZOS gets more restrictive or just abandons the entire program because of all the drama.

That is indeed what it seems like.

If these patch note leaks are real, I would be shocked if the program continues going forward. Seems like a big breach of trust. And the perfect excuse for Zos to drop the program.

You might be right. But ive heard a few things thrown around about what happened with the leak. One of them was that it was a class rep who was frustrated over it and didnt care anymore. Which would make sense tbh, especially if zos isnt listening to them. I think someone even imply's that in this thread.

Discord servers disappearing was definitely a surprise. The amount of useful discussion there seemed to have massively dropped off though.

One wonders where community feedback should be directed now though. Where do the class reps collect feedback now?

From what l hear in these forums, (so take with a grain of salt) there's actually alot of dev activity on Reddit.

Can't personally confirm, because I dont touch Reddit in the least.

It wouldn't take ZOS much effort to make an optional veteran toggle for overland. Acting like veteran players don't matter is the exact opposite of what a game needs to thrive longterm.

As things stand now, 99% of the newest content year after year is geared towards new and returning players, with very little to keep the interest of veterans. If you can't make new content appealing to longtime and invested players, those players will leave, and that leads to a high rate of player churn. That's indisputable.

With Checkmath and Joy gone, do we have a single decent PvP player left in the program? Not that I think it matters anyways (experiencing first hand how necro must have been developed in front of a target dummy), but I can't think of anyone left in the program who has sufficient knowledge in that area of the game to even properly consult.

Few month later they make it under NDA and now class reps can not talk with the community. No more notes or other anythings and the not sure if they actually listen to class reps.

Honestly the whole program seems like a whole lot of nothing. Basically its ZOS way of presenting the image of being tuned into the communities needs without actually bothering to listen.

Mojo - there is a very good pvper in the devel team itself. One that most of us trust in that regard, provided he can get enough game time to stay up to speed. I'm especially happy that it is NOT a ball group leader. I'm sure that previous people did their best not to be biased but we need a voice that isn't of that meta as most pvpers are not in elite squads and have a rather different experience.

Honestly I’d do away with the class rep program, nothing against the class reps but I personally believe it is counterintuitive. The developers should have a clear vision of how they want the game to play. Obviously they keep a finger on the pulse of the community. But I have always believed too many cooks spoil the broth. There are other ways for the community to be involved. I’m not saying that it happens, but there is nothing stopping a class rep from misrepresenting the community, or possibly not as knowledgeable as they think they are, too many competing ideologies. I can say i don’t feel represented. I don’t even know who they are. Not one has spoken to Khajiit. But, I understand why they have it too. I just wouldn’t. It’s pointless.

She used to be a class rep, then got dismissed from the programme (ZOS decision). This caused her to write a long rant here on the forums - but that got blocked and deleted pretty quick. Whether it could be described as "going nuts like an ex-girlfriend" is debatable (and I don't like that description at all, no matter what). Anyway, her thread got deleted with no further consequences for her.

by the way, whoever uses that words, calling here a chick and comparing her to an ex-girlfriend who goes nuts as if only women go nuts after seperating from a partner is pretty much sexist. it would be fine if we could just say, really objectively say, she might not have been made for the class rep program as she wasnt that deep into the mechanisms of the gameplay as other players were - would be totally enough. i definitely read a lot of sexist rants back then and still, would be fine if people would quit on such stupid downgrading comparrisons. next to that, kicking people who cannot defend (bcs of a ban) afterwards isnt a fair behaviour as well.

and: drop the program. its useless, it couldnt fullfill the hopes and zos doesnt give any damn about the class reps anyways. all they do is working for 0€ for zos and getting the storm from the community then as if changes were their fault.

How about hiring class reps that can actually communicate with the community without breaching NDA. My 7 year old understands how to keep a secret in that she's perfectly capable of talking about a new movie without revealing "spoilers".

"Class rep" implies that they "represent" the community. To do that they need to communicate with us. If your "class representatives" lack the mental or social disiciple to speak with the people they represent without revealing company secrets then perhaps you need to reconsider how you are choosing them.

From the last thread, we were told by one of the Reps that the 6 new ones are getting chose/brought in after all the applications they asked for a while back AND they havemt been able to releaae notes for the meetings they are having because its future development stuff covered by the NDA.

Unfortunately, "no notes because of NDA" looks an awful lot like "nothing is happening" from the perspective of players not in the program. At least with the old notes, we players had a much better idea of what the class reps were doing for us and for the Devs.

The problem is actually that we spent a year telling them pain points... then I made a list of which ones were actually addressed, and 80% are still unresolved.

So yeah we've been kind of cutting our effort back a little bit, because theres no point flooding them with the same pain points all over again.

That's only one part though. We have been talking a lot of stuff that's under NDA, and since the pain point part has been reduced to the minimum on our side, we couldn't really post notes of meetings anymore. At this point, were pretty much waiting for them to complete their ability audit so we can get to the real class pain points. We got frustrated because it all takes so long and had a few disputes with ZoS because of that.

Then also, ZoS has been fairly quiet lately for reasons I cannot get into here.

    That...doesn't sound ominous at all.

I don't care how juicy the gossip may be. I don't care how much I think that certain info could, should, and must be made public. I care about my honor, my sense of honesty, and my word that I will not disclose. Doesn't matter whether it is this game, another one, or something completely not game related. A DNR is sacrosanct. I have never violated any of mine and I cannot support anyone who violates theirs.
