Eso ping is a strange case but also Australian ISP isnt so good.
I see a lot of unhappy reviews with NBN.
Back with Telstra 2 years ago, Sydney Southeast and Id struggle to maintain 4mbps.

Not sure who to go with TO now that I am back.

The Honourable Paul Fletcher MP, Minister for Communication, Cyber Safety and the Arts

    Are you happy with it?
Who do you use and what was your difference with ESO ping?

I live exactly halfway between Sydney and Melbourne.
NBN here is a Satellite. two-second response. They disabled the copper netwrok, so ADSL is gone.
The fast option is tethered mobile, 427ms response, about 12 FPS. Telstra is the only provider and the tower was out for 5 days prior to the election while ScoMo was stopping something other than boats.

The three Nationals covering this area and 'decentralisation and comms' were too busy [removed comment] and told me to [removed profanity] off.

As more OCE players leave this discussion will slow down and come to a halt. Its a good case study for how quickly you can knowingly kill a game whilst selling it in the very same region. Didn't expect ZOS to disgrace themselves so bad

Yeah its a bug that happens when programs have threading added improperly. Too bad no one at ZOS doesn't care to fix it, or maybe not enough people complaining? Been around since Summerset and is responsible for those terrible graphics bugs and screen flashes (probably resulting from both "processes" trying to access the same data since they apparently still run concurrently even though only one is drawing to the window at a time)...

In all honesty I lost hope before the latency went back to "normal" and cancelled my sub. I don't have any plans to renew right now as have found other things to do/games to play for now.

I might return at some point and really hope everyone else in AU gets some sort of fix...

Another weekend passed and another weekend of horrible performance. Tried to pvp in cyro in a non peak time and consistently had dc's and load screens in the middle of fights.

Decided id jump on my pve stam necro and do the dailies, but again i got zos'd hard and gave up out of frustration due to disconnects, frame-rate drops in deserted towns and even in 4 man dungeons?!

Im sure you know about all the negative exposure ESO is getting outside of these forums (websites, youtube, social media etc), But theres only so much we can take. Cancelling subs doesnt get your attention, providing pages upon pages of evidence and SUGGESTIONS doesnt either (this thread is a perfect example). How are we suppose to have our voices acknowledged when it feels like it all falls on deaf ears unless its to do with housing or the crown store? This has gone on long enough.

Yep. Worse, they're pulling out all the phone infrastructure behind it, so going back to ADSL is not on.

I am however, moving to a position of believing that this is the result of a North Pacific geo-political issue.

Yet when we play other online games; FFXIV, LotRO, EQ2 even, EVE Online, GW2, etc etc all these games have the 'normal' ping (and stable ping) one would expect. All these games are played over the NBN. In direct comparison ESO not only is ~100 ms higher, it's significantly more variable than the others. One could argue the higher ping could be gotten use to (after all we've gotten use to the ~250 ms over the years), but the combination of it being so high and its fluctuation is just too much for an enjoyable play experience in this era of modern 'twitch-based' mmo mechanics.

Once upon a time ESO too was in that group with normal and stable pings. I believe for the most part we're just asking them to make an effort and provide a reasonable service. One we've come to expect from any MMO that's considered themselves a AAA game over the last 20 years.

If you can be anything, be kind.
