Seems like it's something to do with routing, we get routed through EU to NA which is why VPN fixes it so dramatically. Only happened this week, weird.

While it has been worse for some people this week, the routing has been an issue for us for about a YEAR now. Was just after Murkmire that it started iirc.

routing has been an issue for a while but yeah its like they have changed the routing route recently

I am in New Zealand. I get 270-330 ping without vpn

I use battle ping vpn and get 210-230 vpn. It’s pretty good considering my location.

Until this is fixed you - development - really should look at increasing the time lapse for dodge roll. Currently it's maximum is 275 ms, but with our high pings (i.e. up to 500 of late, though it's probably not related exactly to ping per se, just the variability/packet-loss of the ESO connection I'm guessing ), dodging is unreliable at best. Also interrupting is practically bugged at high ping too, so a fix for that also so it's once again reliable would be appreciate, but I'm guessing that is harder than the former request.

I can only imagine how awful it must be for tanks in this situation also trying to block attacks, but as I don't dare play one right now I can't comment on those problems.

Just until you fix the high pings we have.

On interrupting, playing last night with my usual dungeon team (all of us based in WA and all on 500 ping), i was able to watch a boss interrupt mechanic for a sec, call it out to the tank incase he missed it, he then could respond 'already got it' all before i saw the interrupt on my end.

Add to this the randomness of wether the game thinks we dodge rolled or blocked in time (spoiler alert, we all rolled out of the red and had enough time to start attacking before the game decided we were dead)
It just makes it unplayable.

Someone broke something because a week ago we were at a managable 300.

Thankfully our international buddies understand when we are attempting to follow crown and are actually nowhere near the group - I see him over there - oh he's under there -oh 60 zerglings actually killed me back in that tower and I disconnected and didn't know at some stage in the last minute... my other kiwi teammate died in raid a whole field away from where the keep siege was -to siege.

Or like yesterday, when riding up to a keep, but are actually doing some kind of ride though an alternative time, and it takes 25mins to actually get to the keep after endless crashes, the game saying you're already logged in etc.

BUT we do have others on our team in Europe with this issue too. They are like me, and have to walk up buffing and light attacking (great survivalist) to have any chance of arriving.

We do also constantly experience the same massive lag spikes and all scream at the company furiously many times an hour - those mass freezes that sees everyone back to the home gate. The game is unplayable crap. Still do it by imagining the rotation is working :P

Imagine if they ever fix it -we're going to massacre everyone when our stuff actually goes off.

Yea but we are foreigners from some distant land …..story of my life...lag has been bad lately but I have other issues aswell like my twitch account issues. It doesn't end. Feels like a job sometimes rather than a game that's supposed to be fun.


excuse my venting Im having a very dark day . Tired of these issues.

And @wishlist14 , if it's starting to feel like that then I can say that it's honestly best to move off onto another game until that feeling has gone away. I was in the same position with ESO, but i swapped it out to something more enjoyable, fun and most importantly - playable!

(Sorry to hear you're having a dark day though, hope things get better soon o/ )

@Ryzakier I'm here because even though I have bad days and game issues don't help, I do love this game more than anything else out there. I have invested a lot of money into eso to make it a place I want to log into but yea sometimes things annoy me. Usually I get busy and play and have so much fun. Dear ESO, if you ever go ahead with a server in/near the OCE region, please ensure to select a hosting service that has reliable connection to Asia.

Because for some reason, runescape AU servers gives me 4x more ping when connecting from outside Australia. It's weird and forces me to play in NA server.

I believe it's called network peering, but I am not knowledgeable in this matter

I live in capital city in Europe and I have same 350+ unplayable lag in peak hours... Aussie guys you are not in disadvantage anymore

In 'peak hours', sure, but not all the time.

Euro server issues are well documented and are being addressed by ZOS with an official announcement from Matt Firor.

OCE region issues are ignored and our remonstrations are dismissed with condescending arrogance. (In official support tickets.)

ZOS has a plan to alleviate EURO server deficiencies, but we get nothing, is what I am trying to say.
