Is 20% off crowns enough discount to get you to purchase?

    Absolutely not.

And if you buy any crowns at 20% off, you reduce the chances of us ever getting a decent sale again.

Don't mistake their greed for desperation. They are doing quite well, judging from their development timetable and hire history.

    This is literally just greed.

I would have not minded the smaller discount if they would have done so with a promise to lower the ridiculous costs of items in the crown store.

To put it bluntly, the high discounts of crowns, and also in part to the subscription allowance, inflated all the prices of everything in the crown store. People stock up on a ton of crowns during sales or save their subscription crowns for things they want, and so all those crowns are coming in at a low value. But when you look at the actual prices of items in the crown store and then go look at how much money those crowns cost normally (when there isn't a sale), all of it seems ridiculously overpriced. But the actual value of crowns is much lower than what they are normally are priced at. There is a huge gap in the actual and perceived value of crowns, and that's a real problem for Zenimax's monetization.

Obviously, a 20% sale is good for the overall health of their micro-transactions, because people aren't flooding their accounts with low-value crowns. BUT it looks like a completely greedy move when there is no promise that the prices of stuff in the crown store is going to decrease to compensate. So now we have a continuing high price of crowns with a high cost of items that cost crowns, causing this inevitable reaction.

If it is indeed Zenimax's intention to return the value of crowns to be more in-line with the usual cost of crowns, Zenimax *** up big time by not being transparent in that regard.

I always say this. The crowns at normal price are way too high. The 100% usual price should be the 50% price, and if that were the case this 20% sale would be fair.

bad idea by whomever decided to alter the "normal" discount rate...

considering it's all pixels (but real money) - that decision will end up costing zos sales...

I'm *** sick and tired of ZOS using each and every opportunity to squeeze more money out of its players. Where does it end?

and, that's exactly how it feels...

I don't normally root against folks, particularly if they're just trying to do their job - but, i hope whomever was in that decision making process to cut the discount rate down for the consumer - gets their a$$ handed to them...

Buy them? Haha.. I have 10000 just sitting in my account from eso plus. Nothing to spend them on. I refuse to buy the gambling crates. Hey, ZoS offer a nice mount or pet not in a crate and I might bite.

I haven’t checked on the PSN store yet, but I just want to clarify rq. Is this the same type of crown sale that has historically been 50%.... except ZOS has now reduced it to 20%? Or is it just a purely random 20% sale with no correlation to the usual 50% sales?

And no way I’m buying Crowns at this “discount” lolz

I have crowns stockpiled for Summerset costumes. I probably would have bought more at the usual discount. With this, I'm not feeling the urge to buy more crowns.

If you care at all about getting an actual sale, you should just not buy them at all until they are on an actual sale.

I'm not going to tell you how to spend your money. I'm sure most people here are responsible adults. All I'll say is, if you care about decent business practices, you should probably consider voting with your wallet.

This discussion was had in August last year when everyone but players on PS4 EU specifically in the UK did not get the same discount as everywhere else. (Think was 29% compared to 40%)

Complained to Zos & Jessica said that sale discounts were not set by Zos. Apparently. Region / platform / exchange rate all play a part too.

Not happy with the paltry 20% but might not be Zos being greedy.

I do get crowns for subbing, but I consider those crowns to constitute my Crown Store budget. It's tempting this month, but I really don't want to start down that road. Anyway, it's my intent not to buy them, but it's not because I reject the store and all its contents. I just think the sub is as much as I want to spend on the game.

I haven't unlocked any additional character slots and I will do so for the new expansion coming up.

Therefore, while we're not required to purchase them, I'll take any discount I can get though.

I always buy a 5500 pack when they're on sale, but I'm passing on this one. In reality it's only an €8,- price increase but it's just not worth it to me, especially since my 3-month sub just renewed and I don't even know what to spend those crowns on.

    That's a legitimate pile of horse ***.

I don't care who specifically is in charge of setting sales prices, because it doesn't absolve the company as a whole from their history of shady business decisions. This is definitely ZOS and Zenimax Media. Possibly Bethesda as well.

The whole company is going to *** with their greedy decisions.

Strange that my first crown sale buy on PC (latter end of last year) was only a little over fifty pounds for the twenty one thousand crown package...was thinking that that was the going rate on PC.
