Coldharbour "home" Whats the purpose/value?

I'm curious what the intent of this home is for others, because for my personal interest of a home is primarily to have a free waypoint to access a zone.

This house is 5k crowns but there is absolutely no way to get up or down other than using the portal or just jumping to your death...for kicks.

Free open space. Unfortunately actual building options are limited, since high limits and no real structures bar blocks. Also the weather looks worse than England.

Probably decent for a self made cave house though.

I bought the Coldharbour Surreal Estate for a few reasons, 1) because its the cheapest "notable" home and 2) it then unlocks coldharbour for all my characters and 3) I was able to use in game gold and not crowns

At first, I didn't see much value in it when it was on PTS, but over time, I realized it was what I wanted. Mainly, a purely functional place where I can set up my crafting stations, assistants and training dummies where I wanted with no other obstructions. I own a good number of houses, and most of the time, I need to place things far away from one another or restrict access due to enclosures, non-movable objects or terrain elevation. With this "house", I don't need to worry about that and travel too far or into a building to do what I need to do.

I'm not much of a creative homebuilder, but if I get into it, maybe I'll build something with rocks, planks, etc. in the future. I'm sure there are already people doing some amazing things with it. The Coldharbour aesthetic is also a plus for me.

3 people in my guild have this so far.
3 drastically different houses have been made.

    Basicly

A trailer park and robot fighting arenas

    A gigantic skull cave house

A ...err no idea how to describe the 3rd one.

Originally I wanted to make a house of all races - orcs on the right, altmers on the left, etc. But after spending 1mil on the house itself I can only make a middle finger from stone blocks.

That is exactly what I am in the process of building. As well as mini arenas for target dummies. Including an AOE arena full of precurser dummies.

    1. Wide open for a purely creative experience.
    2. Great open dueling arena.
    3. You can get it for gold or crowns.

Thematically you can do plenty with this home (think realm of a daedric prince).

Practically you can do even more (think easy access to all your mundus stones and crafting stations).

Functionally it's about the same as other homes (it's just in Coldharbour instead of somewhere else). This is probably why it doesn't seem that impressive to some.

"Notable" is a tier. Daggerfall Overlook, Ebonheart Chateau, and Serenity Falls count towards the Count/Countess title. The others, most of which are crown-only, don't count towards the title.

It’s funny you mention that. I own 3 notable homes (Grand Topal Hideaway, Linchal Grand Manor, and Observatory Prior), and none of them were purchased due to them having a title attached to their acquisition. I bought them, because they were extremely unique when compared to every other residence; or property (an island resort, a mansion/villa gated by massive stone, and laboratory). I look at people who buy houses for said titles, and while I don’t exactly frown at them? I wonder if they truly like the properties at all.

there is no real meaning too this house for you, this is a chance for Zen to make as much money as possible on a quick turn around.

by generating a flat painfully bland patch of blue land.

the only people this patch will satisfy are PVP duel players.... but even then I would argue that you can save your selk 1m gold or 5k crowns and just host a duel in a desolate map location.

blue patch of rock = $$$$$

I have bought Daggerfall Overlook and Ebonheart Chateau so far, and will eventually buy Serenity Falls, but it's more for the achievement than the title.

The Overlook, though not my primary residence, is my favorite, and the one where I spend most of my time.

Because 1m isn't that much gold. If this allows you to have some peace and quiet to do what you value, seems easily worth it.

For 200k less gold than the riften manor (which is good for the port to riften), you get a port right to the hollow city, where there is no justice system, on all characters you have and make in the future.

It is always dark there, so you can use your pretty lights to full effect 24/7.

The space is HUGE compared to said Riften Manor and it's even cheaper.

    Daedric. Nuff said.
