- P2W means paying IRL money to gain a distinct advantage over another player. This can be through a skill/item that is otherwise unobtainable using normal methods. This could also be by expediting progression beyond what is possible through normal gameplay.
- Using this definition the thing that makes the research scrolls P2W is gives you access to gear that is not possible to access through normal gameplay.
- The thing that makes part two true is this:
- It's the only way to obtain 9 trait gear. (Well, you can research it normally.)
- It's the only way to obtain 9 trait gear. (I suppose there are other master crafters out there that could make the gear you need).
- Ok, so maybe it's not the only way to obtain 9 trait gear, but.... (To be fair, it can be used to gain the same advantage as someone who has spent large amounts of time researching. It can also be used to gain the same advantage as someone who never researches a single item trait, because someone else can still make the gear for them.)
There is no P2W advantage to be had here.
The only possible benefit would be in regard to Transmutation, and you do not require 9 traits to do so. Hint: if you reseach Nirn'd first - it takes 6 whole hours. Keep the scrap traits for last - you gain nothing that is not available half a dozen other ways by using these.
