It's actually the government in "their" business, ZOS, not yours. Governments monitor businesses all the time either when initiated by consumers or just to check up on them.
It's what keeps things fair and mostly we never notice, just like the stickers on gas pumps saying "tested and found correct on this date" when I have never once seen one of these testers and the pump doesn't screw me over like it did to people back in the old days due to rampant scams.

Without the government stepping in, as a policing body, we would have to form our own village militias and defend ourselves from larger villages or die trying just like thousands of years ago, or in countries without decent government today, and have to raid other villages for medical supplies and such.
Think of The Walking Dead show but with emphasis on no working toilets, just buckets and leaves, and hardly any room to have crops or animals and life-risking foraging and disease and chafing due to not washing. Post-apocalyptic is how it would be without laws and government policing exploitative people, and it would suck if you manage to survive.

People always complain about government, but the US has seen a very long uninterrupted time of relative peace within our own borders(since the Civil War), same with Europe but less length of time(since WW2).
If you hate government so much then start another revolution and find out how much that sucks rather than just voicing opinions and changing things subtly. You'll either die from somebody killing you or from lack of medication you need or lack of sanitary water or food.
You take too much for granted.

I can't help but think that even if they become forbidden someone will find a way to make them legal again because greed prevails. They made it to the market before, despite all reason.

I just hope loot boxes of any shape and form (like Crown Crates) will be removed from every game. Gambling is a serious problem. It's an illness. By supporting this everyone contributes to someone's harm.

Greed is good. ZOS is a business, and clearly a successful one if they had 10million subs for ESO. They shouldn't change a thing about Crown Crates unless Federal law forces them to do so.
