Look all i was saying about the situation is that i doubt that ALL of the 85 people there thought what they were doing was malicious or game breaking like some past issues... And yes i have seen every post that you're talking about, you must have missed the reply i gave jessica after her post. Ive seen it, I understand where they are coming from.. All I was saying is personally i think its wrong.. You dont set a precedent of having an appeals system, un banning ACTUAL cheaters, un banning exploiters in the past, and then now you say we will not be overturning these bans or giving them an appeal...I know people who still play with multiple strikes on their account for some bad stuff (some for exploits), but nope just blanket ban all these people in this situation because its a hard achievement..

Now riddle me this.. These guys broke the rules, they broke the TOS.. They used an exploit, so what makes them any different form the people who have done stuff like this in the past and done MUCH worse and been un banned? If its like you say, and zos wants to start cracking down, it should have been on repeat offenders and actual cheating software (and bots of course) not 1st time offenders of an exploit... They can say its a hard achievement but i think cheating is more detrimental to the game then a stupid skin glitch.. The point is they have an appeal process to go through.. But when it comes to these guys NOPE no appeal.. If you can see why thats wrong and inconsistent then theres no use in talking about it anymore.. Even for the sake of debate.

Yep, someone did have to find the exploit. With their subsequent behavior however, I doubt they were simply playing and "the glitch just happened". Big difference finding an accidental exploit and actively attempting to find a way to exploit the mechanics of the bosses. I've found at least one exploit; not trial related, and not one that had an achievement or skin as a reward. I used /feedback in-game and reported it. I came to the forum and sent a message to one of the community managers. I didn't show others, offer to show other players how to do it if they paid me, or made a vid that not only shows what to do, but urge everyone to do the same thing because "they won't ban everyone".

And yes, if ZOS wants to start cracking down on breaking the ToS, people using cheating software and bots should be targeted. No one can say if they've started to do that on a wider basis. They decided to start on that particular day with that particular event. Sucks to be those exploiters. Someone had to be the first "recipient" of the revised policy. The sheeple who were foolish/clueless/spineless enough to follow along will hopefully learn better. If they really want to play the game they can make a new account. If they don't, oh well. There are other games out that they could exploit. They could have been IP banned and not allowed back under any circumstances.

At least one of the people 'perma banned' for the vAS exploit is back and flaunting it. Why bother banning people if they're just going to be allowed back? We've reported multiple times in ticket and as usual with ZOS, zero response and nothing done. Great job guys.

Heh... when I wrote this, I didn't have a vAS clear. They stood outside the boss room for something like 30-40 minutes, to cheese that clear, then claimed they didn't know anything was wrong. This is some kind of hilarious to me.

Well the tos says the account is banned for cheating, there is nothing saying they can't get another one and buy the dlc and stuff.

People shouldn't be concerned about this, they commited a felony, got punished. People leave jail in real life as well and their lives continues.

Also, why haven't i seen anyone triggered about the guys involved in that bizarre racist ritual in craglorn buying new accounts and coming back? It's not like their minds have changed.

The ToS pretty much allows them to discontinue service for whatever reason they want at the end of the day, like every other ToS agreement. What I do not like is they take no ownership in shaddy game design that allows players to use gamebreaking exploits. I have never played an mmo where an exploit popped up and it was not abused by the playerbase. The only reason they were punished is bc there was not enough of them exploiting it, so no big outcry over it.

Why does anyone even care that they exploited vAShm and sold runs? Some guys got a shiny skin before some other guys, so what? It didn't hurt anybody (except, perhaps, a few precious egos), and it's not preventing anybody else from being proud of completing the content legitimately. Importantly, it's not preventing anyone else from completing the trial, full stop. ZoS patch it up at the next maintenance, problem solved. If people were selling cheat engine codes that made you immortal in Cyrodiil, I'd have a completely different opinion. But if somebody wants to swagger around Craglorn all proud of themselves for having a skin and title they didn't earn, who honestly gives a damn?

Same thing us non pvpers think of pvp exploits. We don't care.

Can't say I'm surprised. Zenimax is so desperate to squeeze money out of as many people as they can. With Summerset coming soon what better occasion then this to lift bans of people that would otherwise definitely not spend hard cash to buy the Chapter.

It's been over two months since another vAS HM exploit has been found and gets regularly exploited (similar to the original one, out of area glitch and requires Snipe to hit the boss because greater distance afaik), and Zenimax hasn't fixed it, taken action on the exploiters or even aknowledged it at all, as far as I know. Probably hundreds of people have exploited it by now given how long it's been around. Hundreds of Summerset preorders/potential buyers that would be canceled if those people were banned, so don't expect it to happen.
