    The forums are totally toxic.

I don't do trials or pvp so I find 90% of in game players to be friendly.

Very Toxic forums compared to the FFXIV, LOTRO or GW2 communities.

But I really don't blame, the people here as I do a Community management, that obviously plays favorites.

I voted very friendly, but this is for the ingame community, the forums are much more terrible, everyone explained why so I won't bother doing so again.

We are the single most toxic gaming community I've ever been a part of - and yes, I do my fair share to contribute to that.

The hostility in these forums brings out the worst in most of us.

I've never seen a community so ready to tear others down even if only playing Devil's Advocate.

I've been on alot of game forums, Warframe, Ubisoft, Bioware etc. and nothing has ever been as toxic of an experience as here.

I feel dirty browsing here sometimes.

In-game, I've found the community is generally helpful and friendly. There are always players willing to help. Zone chat is usually civil and entertaining, and the topics discussed range from the mundane to the bizarre. (PC NA)

The forums are something else entirely. I don't know if it's this format that brings out the worst in people or what, but it's whiny and catty AF in here. There are helpful players here, but the negativity overshadows them. A lot of forum posters have the emotional maturity, mental stability, and patience of a rabid noisy chihuahua.

Also, there are lots of forum memelords. /inb4 meme.gif

Imho we have to divide the forum community and game community.
Why? Cause normally in the forum there are more people in hate with the game, that wanna rage with Devs etc etc instead of people that like the game really much with his flaws(it has many).
For this reason I voted somewhat friendly, cause in game normally I don't meet too much toxic players, like others game I played (cough lol cough cough etc etc).
    The forum it's another thing.
If u asked the forum community is :poll:
Probably I had vote something similar to toxic etc etc.

Sorry for grammar and for the language. English it's not my first language.

This is like a sunshine on the children playground compare to most other (online game) communities.

So, long term health risk from skin cancer.

I don't really think that the forums are toxic. I don't think the game is toxic at all, but then I play with /zone turned off, so I probably miss the bulk of the drama.

The ESO forum community is very active, and very interested in talking about what is happening with the game. Those two things are going to make it inevitable that there will be some manner of conflict. The larger the crowd, the more you run into people who rub people the wrong way, and who are easily rubbed the wrong way.

On the other hand, the larger the crowd, the more likely that there will be people who are helpful, contributors, and not toxic, and I think this forum has a lot of that.

The mods seem to do a good job of weeding out the stuff, but as with any busy forum, they can't be there right away when someone presses "Post".

Heh. True that. I also have /zone turned off, I actually have every chat turned of except NPC chat, so maybe I voted wrong. I was referring to forums when voting.

The quality in /zone chat in game has decreased over the last 3 years.

But overall it's not so bad. It's no Lord of the Rings (wonderful community) but it could certainly be a lot worse.

In game? Awesome. Forum? Absolute worst.
Ruze Aulus. Mayor of Dhalmora. Archer, hunter, assassin. Nightblade.
Gral. Mountain Terror. Barbarian, marauder, murderer. Nightblade.
Na'Djin. Knight-Blade. Knight, vanguard, defender. Nightblade.

    XBOX NA
Ruze is a veteran of the PC Beta, lived through the year one drought, survived the buy-to-play conversion, and has stepped foot in the hells known as Craglorn. He mained a nightlbade when nightblades weren't good, and has never worn a robe. He converted from PC during the console betas, and hasn't regretted it a moment since.

He'd rank ESO:TU (in it's current state) a 4.8 out of 5, loving the game almost entirely.

This is an multiplayer game. I should be able to log in, join a dungeon, join a battleground, queue for a dolmen or world boss or delve, teleport in, play for 20 minutes, and not worry about getting kicked, failing to join, having perfect voice coms, or being unable to complete content because someone's lagging behind. Group Finder and matchmaking is broken. Take a note from Destiny and build a system that allows from drop-in/drop-out functionality and quick play.

Starter zones and first zone after those are mostly nice. People are buying horses for the new players, giving away gold and giving tips, answering questions in the zone chat...

According to my experience in EU PC, DC zones are the most friendliest amongs all.

No more or less toxic than any other MMO. That is to say, very toxic. But not because of the game. Because of people and the internet. The internet is toxic. If you want to play a non-toxic game, stay offline.

Forums: super toxic. Everybody hates the game, the devs and new ideas. Kinda weird.

Sad part of all of this is the acceptance of it all especially on the toxicity of the forums

We get what we put up with or deserve in these cases. I think we all know the toxicity could be taken care of if Our community mangers would act like Community managers instead of Soccer moms that favor one "clique"(and the Clique is deep say anything about the toxic community over at Massively OP and the post will be deleted and you may get banned) over everyone else.

I remember how the old TES forums were when TES III was released, and even the newsgroups for TES 1 & 2, and the communities were awesome, mainly because incessant rants about how the game was the next Diakatana or how the company was an evil Casino wasn't tolerated.

Here they make the people who formed the resistance movement and who had a hand in Crate shaming community ambassadors. Folks ask me why I'm playing FFXIV more than ESO these days? It. certainly isn't the game play...it's how the community is managed and the result of that management.

It really depends. Sometimes you have people who agree with your criticisms. Sometimes you have to deal with people who act like everything is fine and say your criticisms have no foundation, which is annoying.

I haven't been on the forums for too long so I have no opinion on that yet. The ingame community is actually pretty good in my experience. A lot of people helping each other in zone chat, really easy to find friendly people and form groups.

Edited to ESO community, the poll is anonymous.

In general very friendly, and helpful. In particular zone chat is over the top toxic, with a few helpful folks interspersed with what are generally lumped as trolls. Forum threads somewhat toxic on the whining and complaining side, again, with "constructive" and "helpful" folks.

Nobody does toxicity like a roleplayer. I say that as both a roleplayer and end-game player.

Roleplayers essentially live in the haze of group therapy. When a roleplayer has a perception that the group isn't addressing their needs - oh, man!

Have to admit I keep zone chat off everywhere but Cyrodiil. It's not necessarily toxic but I still don't want to deal with it.

The forums at worst are a bit cranky - and people in the PvP threads should probably not drunk post - butok. There are always personality clashes and frictions when you have a large group of people all talking.

lol, this is one of the least toxic forums I've been on. Is there whining and crying... yup. But in my opinion anyone calling someone making a compliant about game mechanics toxic needs to go read a dictionary.

I've always found it rather funny that people complain about other people who complain.

Compared to the game I recently came from this one is full of happy shiny people.

Of course I don't read the chat box too much.... lol
