There is nothing else to watch large group play for (unless you just like watching lots of fiery deaths in rapid succession, in which case you'll find bombing more to your preference), as your lag excludes mechanics from your play.

I used to feel the same before I became more experienced playing in larger groups. I didn't play in a proper PVP raid until 2.1. Now that I've played with a variety of amazing leaders, I can appreciate the nuances better than I could before.

Though, IMO, it was more interesting before the vd/destro ult paradigm -- back when meteor had counterplay. For example, to counter VE's meteor fetish at the time, while in Rage, @recremen came up with a guard reflect build which worked beautifully.

I wish I had captured some video of the early 3.0 Venatus groups which were highly mobile stam based groups with maybe only one or two destro ults.

I've played in plenty of large organized groups like these ever since mid 1.6 and fully appreciate the nuances. That is way I'm asking to hear comms.

Green circles, red ping, and weapon swapping as little as possible. Can you include more battle comms and audio in these clips? I do enjoy those.

Perhaps some of the other PoV videos would be more to your liking, In general healers only require 1 bar aside from buffing / survival etc. For me the things I can pick up from a healing PoV are positioning and prediction in a raid. We are likely looking for different things from a vid though ^^

As exhibited by a single bar healer. Vile here would surely contribute more if he wove in the odd Combat Prayer for buffs, Purifying Light for priority target focus, Proxy for additional aoe burst, or Energy Orb for how op it is. You're surely aware that Energy Orb's heal per second is larger than Springs', lasts longer, and stacks indefinitely, and that it provides allies the same synergy as the Shards which Vile never even cast from his back bar.

Also two more things I noticed, casting Healing Springs back to back does clip one second off of each Springs' duration, yet he does it. There is space for one additional global cooldown between refreshing the Springs as they expire, if you insist on doing so. Keep in mind that Orbs is a superior hot assuming the fight is relatively stationary.

And the clip ending at 4:20 shows you fleeing up a stairwell and turning on your pursuers, and then abruptly ends. What happened there? Blaze it?

Forum PVP =/= discussion so I think we are safe to talk about this ^^

Firstly Vile is far from single bar healing imo however depending on the stage of the fight there are different requirements.
Top up heals, individual burst, group burst.

I'm very aware of the strength of orb its something which we often rotate in depending on our size and style. There are also limitations to it. The healing is strong but moves slowly and requires a higher recovery build to make the most of the multiple casting (lowering overall healing) additionally orbs cannot provide static healing as strongly and only originate from the caster so in the situations you need to tank or run fast away it's not ideal as they won't provide the sustained healing required there.
They are very good for a lot of situations and we do use them often but I don't feel templars are the best choice for using them personally.

Secondly regarding the Shards. Having the option of a skill doesn't require usage in all situations. I might back at purge but unless my support guy goes down or is away it's unlikely I'll need to use it but not having it would screw us in those situations.

Combat prayer isn't needed with nb dps. Neither is purifying as fighting the numbers we fight ts rare to want to specifically wish to burst one target down who won't be purged. We have one templar using it though.

The vids are as much about entertainment and promoting group play. Not just a pure report of our raid this is why cutting and editing is done. As for the voice coms. Maybe :p

All good points. Much to be taken from them and discussed.

Orbs are an amazing skill, funny you mention them because they are now permanently on my back bar exactly over shards. Some of these clips are a few weeks old. Though their healing is overall higher than springs their functionality IMO is poor. They are good to place if you can be super preemptive about a fight but healing springs are the perfect skill for laying a path for your groups to move through, and it is very rare for a group to stop moving for more than a few seconds. I am sure you agree that it is entirely situational. I concede though that there were situations in the clips that I could have used orbs productively and in future hopefully I do.

As far as Combat prayer I am of the opinion that blessings of restoration is a better morph for group anyway, but for our groups in particular the bars are just to tight and the only 'damage' role we really have room for is Nighblades who can access this buff on their own. You may disagree with this group composition but its my philosophy that any damage role that is not a bomb blade is just sub optimal. Some other classes are good support / dam but their places are limited in group.

Proxy det on the healers is something we have discussed but again, the bars are so tight its hard to warrant it in my opinion. It is something we have done in the past when our damage has been low but this depends on the number of bomb blades in group. The slot I would put it in would be cleanse as Support sorcs usually do the purging however honestly cleanse is on my bar more for the regen than its use. Regen is as tight as possible so as to maximise spell damage and respectively healing output.

Lastly as you seem so interested :D that 4.20 clip ended with us running up the stairs, waiting for literally another 4 minutes 21 seconds (I just went and checked) while setting up siege to try and bait a push, which they wisely did not take, before we decide to engage them at the bottom with a split sneak push that failed and eventually lead to a wipe. The reason I even left the run back to gate in was to demonstrate the movement to it. These are Dracarys highlight clips don't forget. We don't deny the wipes we have, they just don't really constitute highlights now do they :P and I like to think I do show them regularly enough.

Again. we appreciate all feedback thanks kena!

Yeh was mainly VE + pugs in that part after the GvG style fight. We couldnt manage to resiege and hold respawn at the camp outside the door so had to abandon. Was hoping to kill more on the drop though. Luckly quite a few of us escaped for a camp of our own :) Was a fun fight.

    Great vids!

All this talk of the great old school NA guilds, my personal two cents is that NM was always the scariest fights. I remember when they moved back to thorn and basically farmed chalman from the time they logged in until they were done. Even in larger IR guild groups there was very little we could be done with them.

I am looking for positioning and predictions, tactics and setup and anticipations and maneuvers and ult rotations and all the raid communication which makes group leading interesting.

@zyk awww shucks, thanks for the name drop. <3 In all honesty though I don't miss that meta or that version of the code, lag was destroying the game as opposed to being just a nuisance in the current build.

If you keep it up posting so many videos in about a year's time with any luck DC zone chat will stop referring to you as Haxus everytime Drac rolls up somewhere lol.

I think all will remember our name as soon as they watch the GoT episode from this weekend ;)

Jokes aside I think most players who need to know which guild is which can distinguish the different guilds on all factions. Zone pugs will always be zone pugs.

To be fair, Drac features a lot of GvG stuff. As much as I may dislike their selection and the fade to black (in places) I can't fault a guild for showing their highlights instead of mine.

    ^this basically.

Also in this video all my cuts have been basically at the end of fights aside from tidying up stragglers etc. Was there anything in particular or talking about a previous vid?

Personally, I would like to see more than the highlight of an engagement. I'd wager that a couple of the fights in these videos ended in a group wipe a minute later, but it's rarely shown and just cuts to the next fight.

It's similar to watching 1vX highlights. Sure, it's cool seeing them fend off and kill 5 people at once, but that is likely not a realistic norm... where are the clips of getting killed by one good enemy player?

I think leaving a few more group wipes in the videos would make them feel more honest to viewers and perhaps even diffuse some hostility towards the guild.

That might be a realistic norm for you, but for many people getting killed by a single player in cyrodiil is not a very common experience at all. Besides, that's categorically not even a 1vX, not really. The analogue you're looking for is when someone cuts a clip off before killing everyone involved, because more people showed up to the scene after the first few kills.

More to the point, when you say 'viewers', do you mean members of guilds that are getting farmed in these clips? Cus me, personally, I didn't feel any hostility at all ;).
