Just when the daily farming Pugs "Haxus" videos went away. :(

To be fair, Drac features a lot of GvG stuff. As much as I may dislike their selection and the fade to black (in places) I can't fault a guild for showing their highlights instead of mine.

    ^this basically.

Also in this video all my cuts have been basically at the end of fights aside from tidying up stragglers etc. Was there anything in particular or talking about a previous vid?

Personally, I would like to see more than the highlight of an engagement. I'd wager that a couple of the fights in these videos ended in a group wipe a minute later, but it's rarely shown and just cuts to the next fight.

It's similar to watching 1vX highlights. Sure, it's cool seeing them fend off and kill 5 people at once, but that is likely not a realistic norm... where are the clips of getting killed by one good enemy player?

I think leaving a few more group wipes in the videos would make them feel more honest to viewers and perhaps even diffuse some hostility towards the guild.

I kind of feel that when watching a video I generally want to see something impressive in a situation I can learn from watching. If the fight just goes on forever and isn't really something interesting (killing last few guys / kiting around picking off ones and 2 for a while or waiting around before the next bit of action I'd rather cut it and move on) I guess for me that's the difference between watching a stream and a video. That's also one of the reasons I always try focus on GvG type fights in videos where at least one group is present. (Fighting pugs is ok if they vastly outnumber but when it's just pugs who slightly outnumber it's not so impressive to me. Depends on the fight though)

Here is an example of why I cut where I did in the recent video
    Clip number) Reason.
    1) waiting for tick / riding to sej
    2) kiting around the tower for a while then dropping out for a camp for the 2 who died then regrouping.
    3) fighting around flags vs AD pugs
    4) preventing reses on the VE guys who died kiting back and forth (wanted to go inside the keep) eventually keep flipped during the fights and is repaired so we jump out to he mine after losing a couple of guys.
    5) death is visible
6&7) are a run on the same sequence (you can see kill counter in top corner we kill a few stragglers and then 2 dc groups arrive we wipe BoD and tidy up. Eventually run inside the keep vs VE BoD Fantasia and AD pugs. Fight around inside for a while and finally get overrun.
    8) tidy up the last couple of guys
    9) death is visible.

Yeah we can look at doing this in future. Just assumed people wouldn't really want to hear it. Thanks for the feedback.

I'd rather hear chat and game sounds personally, and I do enjoy the videos as well.

I like seeing the failures as well. I recall a Zerg Squad fail clip from awhile back. Watching a well coordinated group is informative even when watching as things go right, but more so when things go wrong.

That might be a realistic norm for you, but for many people getting killed by a single player in cyrodiil is not a very common experience at all. Besides, that's categorically not even a 1vX, not really. The analogue you're looking for is when someone cuts a clip off before killing everyone involved, because more people showed up to the scene after the first few kills.

More to the point, when you say 'viewers', do you mean members of guilds that are getting farmed in these clips? Cus me, personally, I didn't feel any hostility at all ;).

No, dying to one person is not my norm, but it does happen. Fighting a perma dodge cloak shieldbreaker stamblade for instance is pretty hard on a magsorc.

A norm for me is to immediately encounter a shield charge, root spamming, puncture tremor spamming stam build + a heavy armor mag templar keeping everyone healed and me snared and of course beaming if my health moves + a warden running shalks, bee's, and bird spamming + a sorc running the usual. That's not even counting other proc sets, healing debuffs, other hard CC's, poisons or the reaction times on defensive rotations that these players have when I do get an opening to attack one of them.

And I completely disagree with the bold statement. I certainly burst down my share of players in the 1vX fashion (last night I basically solo defended dclaw against 8-12 EP and killed most of them 2-4 times each). Every 1vX video clip is littered with people dying to one player dancing around trees or 15+ players dying to a solo bomber while taking a flag... so at least empirically the majority of players do in fact die regularly to one person.

I don't think his word choice of "many" relates to a proportion of the majority.

What type of videos would you like to see? @ShadowProc

Since you asked. Honestly? Small scale or only fights against other guilds.

I still raid once or twice a week. I dont like killing pugs. It is not hard. I look firward to the fights with VE, you guys, and PM the most. To be honest though I dont like the dancing around with you guys. You all either dance for 5 minutes waiting for a mistake, which I understand, or wait for us to engage with someone else, which i hate.

I use to think it was harder on the large scale side, but it is far more difficult and challenging the smaller your numbers are. So many mistakes that are made that get covered up by teammates which would get you wiped a lot on smaller ones.

Solo being by far the most challenging in this game. Especially at this point in this games life. I use to hate ganking. But now i love it. Not the lonely horse riders on the way to keeps, which i still do even though not challenging, but the ones during a siege or outside a keep with others around and getting away clean after you anger the swarm. Lol

To be fair I enjoy wathing your videos against guilds. What I dont like is when you show killing 100 Pugs(Especially because of the ill tgought out Viscious Death Set and Prox Det). Because we both know that fights against guilds when they have 12-24 is much harder than 100 disorganised pugs that you melt with back to back to back destros, prox dets, and VD. You get punished in raid by having weak members because they start the cascade effect from VD.

Well we generally show fights against other guilds. Which clip from the last video did you think was pugs? we were also 5-13 there which isn't rlly huge size.

I don't know which guild you represent so I can't speak as to the 'dancing' comment if you want to give an example feel free I can't really think of a situation where we do this unless heavily outnumbered. That being said in any situation either side is always free to push first if you feel you have the upper hand or better position.

Fights are all proportional. Is very easy to fight against 30-40 pugs in most situations because they aren't coordinated sure. 100 i'm not so sure. I don't really think its a challenge to kill any guild lower numbers then you run. and in general its also not so hard to kill a guild running 4-8 ppl more than you (It normally comes down to tactics and leading as well as whos members position and react the best). Where it does get hard is when those extra numbers are also there with another guild or there with 20 pugs too
because that's when you are spread too thin and people get focused down.

Anyone in these groups still running Phoenix? I see a lot of Plague Doctor. I imagine Phoenix, VD, Plague, one or two Trans and Riposte, Spinner on a bomber or two, and maybe someone with SPC if you're feeling saucy would make for the large group meta with how contingent fights are on VD cascades.

I still want to hear comms. That bait and slip off the edge of the wall in the first clip of the latest video was good. I want to hear the calls leading up to that, for example. I'm suddenly so interested in how each of your guilds' voice comms differ. lol

There are a few nice extras we have in group builds that I'm not going to specify. But yea the jist is to maximize your set synergy and get as many of those support buffs as you can on your support players.

It is probably very difficult for many players (especially new players) to get to a point where they can work together as well as what's demonstrated in this video. These videos with voice communication are much more enjoyable than without voice communication, and it helps to appreciate how well oiled these groups are.

In my experience coms are often cut because there's always someone who is not gracious in victory or defeat. In the top end guilds there's a lot of competitive people and that's good, but it also ends up similar to when you mic up a sports team.. not always something I want to share with the world.

It is probably very difficult for many players (especially new players) to get to a point where they can work together as well as what's demonstrated in this video. These videos with voice communication are much more enjoyable than without voice communication, and it helps to appreciate how well oiled these groups are.

    Agreed!

Eh, the more mature among us won't care. We all have our outbursts from time to time, and the comms both make the videos more human and relatable and showcase the groups' discipline and organization.
