Would you want a "class re-choose" token/option in the game?

Defo, my main was maxed out on crafting, shards and pretty much all achievements a soloer can get, having to do all that again on my new warden is a pain, but at least its a fun class to play.

    Cheers
Sorry but why do you need to do all that again ?
Because new characters don't have them? That's the primary reason for wanting class change - to keep your existing content progress (questing, crafting, skyshards, etc) while being able to experience a different class from scratch.
Sorry but why does a new character have to have it all
Completionism. Having incomplete completion targets is a major turn off with regards to new character creation. If a completionist doesn't see themselves completing all the content again, they won't create a new character, regardless of how much they want to try a new class.

Sorry but never turned me off from trying a new class I'm on my 10th character just all seems a few lazy people can't be bothered to put some effort in for the reward and just want the easy route

This is not always the truth. I've played my main for well over 5,000 hours since April 2014. I have all my achievements on her. I have all trophies on her. I have an AvA rank of 40 on her. I've been crowned Empress on her. She has all stats full on her mount. She is a Master crafter. There are so many reasons and hours invested in her that when her class gets nerfed to the ground it breaks my heart and pains my soul if she would be degraded to an ignoble mule and crafter.

A class change token would be the smallest of courtesies from Zos to her, and me and my time.

I try new classes alright. That's not what is causing me sorrow. It is having invested so much in a character only to see it gimped and less and less played.

I'd rather see her put to the use she was created for, granting hours of enjoyment under a new class.

After all, isn't that what a videogame is all about?

True words. if a game isn´t fun anymore, why bother playing, when your char can´t be the Thing you want them to be?

Yes but put a time limit on it. Otherwise every 3 months 40% of the player Base are just gonna switch.

    1 toon per year.
Otherwise the guy with 10 alts will just switch the class of a different toon every 3 months.

    I'd opt for a Reverse-Patch Token instead.

Morrowind is trash and I prefer being allowed to use my class' abilities instead of exclusively using Lightning Staff heavy attacks...

I like the idea, just not the "one time only". Reading this thread I disagree with most of the limitations people put on it as well. The entire reason that I would pay for this would be convenience, why on earth would ZOS tell me to stop spending money on there game when it gives me no quantitative edge against other players?

Class changing every month - absolutely NO. I've seen a lot of games having this feature, and it's making people jumping from one class to another everytime when some class getting OP'ed. No good.

But change it one time only (or once at 6 months) would be nice. Being a player who plays only one main character and have no time to manage a horde of alts, I'd be glad to change my gameplay when I get tired of my current class.

[Just a dreamer's suggestion] A class changing questline for CP160 characters.
When your char reaches 50 lvl and 160CP, Fighters Guild offers you a trial. You must prove that you know your class in the instanced individual trial or something like that. The trial should be very challenging, not easy mode.
If you complete the quest you're getting a rights to choose another path.

Ever since the Warden was announced I have wanted to change my Bosmer from a Nightblade to a Warden because of the nature magic!
So if they added a Class Change Token to the game I would LOVE them for it!
Please, Zenimax if you're reading this please add that token! <3

The arguments against are, I'm sorry, dumb.

There are other games that allow class change in one form or another. The doomsday scenarios we hear for ESO never happen in those games. Class change is fine, and I want it. The only real problem with class change is its name has the most feared and hated word in all of mmos..... Change.

There is no point to a class rechoose option. Level up one character from each class and there are options to make that character BiS/FotM.

Not the perfect race? Race change. Attributes wrong? Shrine of akatosh. Wrong skills? Shrine of stendarr. Wrong gear? Swap it out for BiS for your build. Want one characters name to follow into another class? Two name change tokens.

Just get one of each class and you are done people. No need to ask for a way to change 3 skill lines completely and bring up the question of whether the class lines should carry over exp when changed or not.

Just use the tools we have to the greatest effect

Look man I got maxed inventory, crafting, riding skills, and world skills. Bump making a new damn character.

Now I will say I would forgo a class change if they offered away to transfer those irritatingly grindy skills to a new character then I would be down for that.

Seem pointless to me. Just create characters of each class. Problem solved.

But if people want to throw money at the game to change classes and waste time leveling class skills again, I have no problem with that.

I think choices should matter, too; but, I think that classes are something you learn as you use them and, while I am not a stranger to the delete and restart merry-go-round, I get frustrated when I settle into a class and then a patch changes everything and it no longer plays the way I play or a new class such as Warden doesn't develop for me in a direction I am comfortable with. Yes, yes, I know many will say suck it up or it's a learn to play thing; but, it's a game and a game should be fun for the player else why play? Some may like the challenge of playing a difficult class but there should be room for all of us, shouldn't there?

Thus, I think a class change which works like a skill reset and returns all skills to be re-assigned is as valid as the skill reset we already have and perhaps less disruptive than a race change since it would not affect racial passives. I see little difference between a class change and the skill point return we get anyway when a major patch upsets everybody's apple cart. There is enough anguish about major changes to show that the original choice is no longer valid for many due, not to their own decision making, but to the game changing around them.

Just reroll. I've rerolled the "same" character twice. It is quite easy to get to 50, and the only setback is your riding skill.

The only exception I can think of is the ability to class change to a warden, but that should have been included at Morrowind's launch.

I've wanted this several times. I'm very picky about my toon appearance and it takes me a very long time to tweak a look just right. Since I lost a few very good appearances, I've learned to screenshot every stage of creation so I can recreate it if I make a mistake and have to reroll, but if you take too long or if you go afk while you're building a toon, you will get kicked for inactivity and have to start over. I've also bought things or used things on toons that I'd rather not lose, like a Pledge of Mara or riding boosts. I would actually be perfectly happy to start over at level 1 with a new class if I could keep my toon's face, name, marriage and riding skills. All I want is not to have to lose designs and actual crowns I invested in that particular toon, and the bleeping tedious riding training.

If you're on a PC, you can create your toon first on the test server. Try the character in the game on the test server, to make sure you like the look. Then use an appearance change token (still on the test server ... it's free there) to tweak the look, and write down all the specifics. (Such as "Cheekbone size, 7 clicks from left," "Cheekbone height, 5 clicks from left," etc.)
Then once you have the look perfect, you can re-create the exact face on the live server.

No game whatsoever include class change (at my knowledge). That remove the interest of alting. Which reduce the life of the game.

I'm totally in disfavour of this. Want a new class? Reroll! The game need to keep incentive for players to actually play the game, and not bypass everything with Real Life Money.

It really shouldn't impact the interest in alting. I have the max number of character slots that can be bought at this time, all filled, and I still want to change class occasionally and not lose my Mara pledges and riding progress. I have that many alts because I like to experiment, but I don't always know if I'm going to continue to like an experiment past the point where I thought I did and committed to spending crowns on it. I'd honestly rather spend more crowns for a class change than just lose the ones I spent already.
