That's the primary reason for wanting class change - to keep your existing content progress (questing, crafting, skyshards, etc) while being able to experience a different class from scratch.White wabbit wrote: »Sorry but why do you need to do all that again ?Knightpanther wrote: »Defo, my main was maxed out on crafting, shards and pretty much all achievements a soloer can get, having to do all that again on my new warden is a pain, but at least its a fun class to play.
Cheers
Sorry but never turned me off from trying a new class I'm on my 10th character just all seems a few lazy people can't be bothered to put some effort in for the reward and just want the easy route
This is not always the truth. I've played my main for well over 5,000 hours since April 2014. I have all my achievements on her. I have all trophies on her. I have an AvA rank of 40 on her. I've been crowned Empress on her. She has all stats full on her mount. She is a Master crafter. There are so many reasons and hours invested in her that when her class gets nerfed to the ground it breaks my heart and pains my soul if she would be degraded to an ignoble mule and crafter.
A class change token would be the smallest of courtesies from Zos to her, and me and my time.
I try new classes alright. That's not what is causing me sorrow. It is having invested so much in a character only to see it gimped and less and less played.
I'd rather see her put to the use she was created for, granting hours of enjoyment under a new class.
After all, isn't that what a videogame is all about?

Not the perfect race? Race change. Attributes wrong? Shrine of akatosh. Wrong skills? Shrine of stendarr. Wrong gear? Swap it out for BiS for your build. Want one characters name to follow into another class? Two name change tokens.
Just get one of each class and you are done people. No need to ask for a way to change 3 skill lines completely and bring up the question of whether the class lines should carry over exp when changed or not.
Just use the tools we have to the greatest effect
If you're on a PC, you can create your toon first on the test server. Try the character in the game on the test server, to make sure you like the look. Then use an appearance change token (still on the test server ... it's free there) to tweak the look, and write down all the specifics. (Such as "Cheekbone size, 7 clicks from left," "Cheekbone height, 5 clicks from left," etc.)I've wanted this several times. I'm very picky about my toon appearance and it takes me a very long time to tweak a look just right. Since I lost a few very good appearances, I've learned to screenshot every stage of creation so I can recreate it if I make a mistake and have to reroll, but if you take too long or if you go afk while you're building a toon, you will get kicked for inactivity and have to start over. I've also bought things or used things on toons that I'd rather not lose, like a Pledge of Mara or riding boosts. I would actually be perfectly happy to start over at level 1 with a new class if I could keep my toon's face, name, marriage and riding skills. All I want is not to have to lose designs and actual crowns I invested in that particular toon, and the bleeping tedious riding training.
