It is an expansion. Plain and simple.

    Other?
Doesnt feel that big to be an expansion but also not small enough to be a dlc given the new class, it feels like something in the middle, they could have done a lot more if they want to consider it an expansion in my opinion =/ plus battlegrounds should be something as a base game not something you need to buy.
I like sweetrolls and I cannot lie

It's bigger, adds Battlegrounds, and a new class.

I don't mind so much that it's smaller than other MMO's expansions, because ESO's content updates (free to subscribers) like Wrothgar, Huw's Bane, Gold Coast, are all significantly larger than other MMO's content updates (even MMOs that demand a monthly sub). So I'm mostly seeing it as helping to fund these smaller content updates on the side, adding up to a pretty huge expansion over the course of a year. However, I will be upset if they can't keep delivering smaller locations on the side like that, and rely on paid expansions as the only exploration content updates in the future.

I consider it an expansion. 1) New class; 2) new territory; 3) new battleground and I think the price was fine considering the number of hours and the goodies that game with. I got the collector's upgrade and I'm happy with my purchase.

Comparing it to wrothgar which was free for eso+, morrowind isn't much bigger. Definitely not 40$ bigger. Of course this is my opinion on the matter. In the end this "chapter" is a dlc, as dlc means downloadable content. Calling a Coke a cola doesn't mean it is no longer a Coke.

It does if you are a factually challenged apologist because when anyone questions your purchasing decisions it causes uncomfortable cognitive dissonance so you have to plug your ears and go "LALALALA THIS IS EXPANSION!!!1!! MORONWIND IS A MASTERPIECE!"

Also, and its sad to admit, but people are used to game companies being shady, releasing Day 1 DLC, and routinely reducing the amount of value they provide while increasing the price.

The game industry is one of the LEAST regulated industries and it now is a larger industry than film and music. Vegas casinos have their games regulated but video games can participate in unregulated gambling. Other industries have external quality standards imposed on them like ISO but the video games industry can flat out launch beta quality work and get away with it.

Anyone who defends this industry, its poor quality, abysmal customer service, and deceptive marketing strategies, and flat out unethical behavior, must at some fundamental level realize how low the bar is.

Pick any other service or entertainment you pay for and ask yourselves if you would ever tolerate this level of quality and business ethics.

So why do you tolerate it for video games?
