I've received quite a bit of master writs but the biggest issue I have is most of them require sets that need 9 traits to craft, Nirnhorned (which will take about a month for my character to research), and/or motifs I don't own. Can I get some crappy Master Writs, please? :disappointed: The only writs I've been able to complete without any issues are the consumable writs, but I've only received three alchemy writs so far...

The only positive is I was able to sell a master writ, with absurd requirements I'll never meet, to help pay for some Nirnhorned equipment to research.

yeah thats the key they sell well. especially the big "no crappy" ones.

I think its official the droprate must have been nerfed or is non existent for most people in game.

Thus far I ran 6 all maximum level crafting writs on 3 character for 15 days and received master writs crafting totaling exactly 200 vouchers. A few things I noticed:
    - only my main received gear crafting writs, probably because he also has all traits researched and all pre-Homestead motifs completed (not sure if the other achievements matter)
    - my other 2 characters which are maxed out on crafting but have no traits researched, and just the blue racial motifs, mercenary and hollowjack purple ones learned received no gear crafting writs, just a few alchemy ones
    - I have just only completed the glyph translation achievements on those characters, so I'm not sure if it increases the likelihood of receiving enchanting master writs.
    - I have only received a single provisioning master writ for a purple food on my main, even if I have learned almost all recipes in the game (still missing a few very rare mid-tier purples only found at 30K+ in guild stores)
Overall it's not a bad addition. I will most likely to be able to buy Ebony motif by the end of the week - the full book is actually cheaper than buying chapters individually - 300 vouchers vs. 14 x 25 = 350 vouchers. One thing I don't understand about this motif is the inconsistency between actual style and mats available from deconstruction of Ebon Armory and a few other sets in this style - they still give Soul Shriven style material when deconstructed, although that style looks totally different for armor when actually crafted - weapons are the same.

Sounds like they are trying to create a market where people would rather sell them that actually do them. Ive got about 150 completed writs to turn in today on 6 toons with all different levels of crafting achievements unlocked. Thinking about posting the results on youtube. When I get them I may just sell the dam things.

Actually master writs now barely sell for 2K/voucher. Not really worth selling them. They will continue to decrease in value as people eventually get enough of them to buy motifs, skeleton, crafting stations and other furniture blueprints. In a few months people will just buy the random purple blueprint envelope and resell those on guild stores. The vendor inventory is pretty limited ATM so they will have to actually add more items to keep it going past the 3-4 month mark.

There were quite a few master writs listed in guild stores last night for 3K/voucher or less. It might be more cost effective at this point to buy them from the lucky people who seem to list half a dozen a day if your luck is really that bad.
Happy All the Holidays To You and Yours!

In 10 days i have received 91 master writs for a total of 983 vouchers. I run 20 characters a day through all 6 writs for a total of 120 writs a day. So yes i have a much larger pool to pull from then most of you but my experience should help shine a light on how many you are going to need to do, to obtain the master writ items you want. I have already shared this info in other master writ discussion threads but here is my first weeks break down for others that might want it.

To continue, with first weeks numbers quoted for reference. Here are my numbers from week #2. 56 Master Writs for 577 Vouchers. Here they are, broken down by category.

Must be something about the name ID this kind of proves it tbh, I had 0 for the past 11 days on every char.

ID Name effecting master writs is silly. It doesn't prove anything. It's obvious to me that you don't have the correct acheivments needed for master writs. In fact I would love to see what you got for crafting profession. How about you take screens shots of all your crafting achievements for each character and post them here.

The reason why I want you to do this is, I have multiple players I'm in contact with and we are all compiling data for master writs. The system we are using is netting everyone of us master writs at around the same percentage.

Yes master writs have a low drop rate in its current rng system but you have to stack the odds in your favor by manipulating that system through proper means and I doubt your doing that correctly.

It's also pretty silly that I haven't received one master writ yet after 13 days even after learning the 2 full complete new motifs as well Silken + Mazzatun on my main crafter.

13 days of 8 characters 36 writs a day, should have landed a couple atleast not 0, even if all but one has the motifs / traits, I've seen others getting them frequently on new crafters every day.

    hmm...i recall seeing something interesting when data mining the other day,it went something like this;

    if @Kyle1983b14_ESO=true then RNG*0

I could have been mistaken though....

I am usually very even tempered, it takes a lot for me to get hot under the collar. This weekend I stormed away from my PC after I realised that I spent 4 hours doing writs and stuff around master writs. (I spent over an hour searching for a Motif to craft some legs that bagged me a whopping 7 vouchers). As someone else has aptly said before me - This feels like work, not fun!

Since the launch of homestead I have been doing writs on 4 characters every day, each one level 50 in crafting and has all the relevant skills to go with it.

I have had master writs but they are all frustrating useless, 2 vouchers is a damn insult! I would say that 10 vouchers so be the lowest reward possible.
I have 37 vouchers after all that effort and time. 37!!!

With a smug look upon her face, my lovely wife having done the same amount of writs has bagged well over 600 vouchers. Her RNG is clearly stronger than mine or maybe the RNG is sexist? All my characters are male? Perhaps the RNG just prefers the female form? We mush research this!

I would be interested how your and your wifes character are on complete non-dlc motives, crafting achievements and trait research.. because the difference is quite huge.. o.O
