I would love to eat my words and come back to this game with a Expansion that has meaty content. im not holding my breath
Disgusting.
I'm sorry I hurt your excitement. I would just like to see the put actuall effort into the new content instead of repurposed content, and solo centric story mode zone. I like a little more second M in my MMO

Great... now I'm going to have nightmares.

Pre-record a bunch of "uh huh", "yup", and a few different grunts (agreement, disagreement, etc) that you can play to your boss while you watch The Event. Be mindful of warning signs that this is not working, like repeated queries along the lines of "hello, are you there".

Pete Hines is a high ranking suit at Bethesda. He is the Vice President of Marketing and Public Relations for Zenimax/Bethesda(Probably Matts Boss). Last time Hines was present at an ESO live was when they announced dropping the sub and going B2P with Tamriel Unlimited.
Im not saying a F2P annoucement is happening, I don't know that. I just find it odd that such a high ranking Zenimax suit is going to be there. I hope for good things this time around.
Don't forget that the reason that Vvardenfell is coming up now is likely the 15th Anniversary of Morrowind. If there was to be some tie-in with Morrowind, someone like Pete Hines would be present. He represents Bethesda Game Studio, too.Publius_Scipio wrote: »Dammit! Can someone please explain wtf F2P would mean for ESO (if it were to happen)? And why does F2P carry heavy negative connotations with it? Isn't the game already f2p since Tamriel Unlimited?
Yes, the game is, for all intents and purposes, free to play. At this point, whether they continue to charge for the game, or decide to drop that charge, the role of the cash store will be the same. It is very possible that we will find out tomorrow that the base game will now be free. Predicted for a long time, now.
Anyway, what really stands out is why they fesl it is necessary to fly all the way across the county to California to make an announcement. What are they doing, selling ESO to Trion or Cryptic?
Selling ESO to another company?
Too much speculation going on. All I know is Rich Lambert in pants may be some bad sign. If he is wearing a suit/trousers we are all in deep [snip]. If jeans, bad but not terrible news. If it's a sham and he is in shorts then good news, the usual kind of fun hype. If he shows up on stream in his underwear then it will be the most mega awesome news none of us even expected.

Trion with Scott Hartsman at the helm is legit. Launch Rift was an incredible theme park.

All joking aside, I am really concerned about the future of the game, more than I've ever been since it dropped. I want Zenimax to be successful because I want to enjoy a game I love. I don't think Peter Hines appearing tomorrow is going to add anything to that enjoyment. I really hope I'm wrong.

Hines is not exclusively the bringer of doom. More often than not, he is the opposite. But, ESO player should fear him, for he he has brought doom to this game. The location concerns me a lot more than him being there.
Okay, I'll bite. Why does the location worry you?

I see no sense to it. Why fly from the DC area all the way out to San Fransisco? They can announce upcoming DLC from anywhere. They can announce sweepstakes winners from anywhere. They can do a live internet stream from anywhere. So, what's with the frequent flyer miles? The obvious reasons would be around the idea that there is something in San Fransisco that can't be in Maryland, or there are more people that are part of this event that are from California than from the east coast, so it is cheaper to fly into California. The bulk of Bethesda and ZOS staff that would participate in this are on the east coast. I am just trying to imagine what, or who, is in California that is pulling Bethesda and ZOS to them, rather than the other way around.

These are great questions.
I'm fearful to board the Hype Train, but that doesn't mean I'm not standing on the edge of the platform, baggage in hand.
Band Camp statements: To state "But this one time I saw X doing X... so that justifies X" Refers to the Band camp statement.

This reminds me of ArenaNet when they announced Heart of Thorns. They flew like 50ish streamers out to their HQ to check it out, and they didn't even really have anything to show them when they got there.

Constructive is sometimes negative.
Quite frankly we dont know what this is. Calling it Vvardenfell is a bit clickbait.
Yes totally, no need to be rude though. He's posted several times it's fake already. Majority of us are very sure this IS Vvardenfell with the 15th anniversary of morrowind in may and since next update is scheduled around that time it would only make sense. Plus the volcanic teasers = Red Mountain. Plus the updated text "next chapter", continuing the story where we left off in Orsinium.
I don't know if anyone have mentioned it yet, but the stream tomorrow will be with Rich Lambert and Pete Hines.
So I'm guessing it's a little bigger than just a standard dlc.
Yes I have also been expecting it for quite some time. They are putting a lot of effort into the crown store. First crates and now housing. We all know by now that housing will be a huge grind and the underlining goal is to push people into the crown store with it.
Let's see. Maybe we will be pleasantly surprised (quality end game content and PVP additions). Not gonna get my hopes up though.
Seraphayel wrote: »“Next chapter“ is the important wording here. Were Orsinium, IC, TG or DB announced as “next chapters“ or something like that?
It's only reasonable that we are talking about an expansion due to the lack of content in den last 8-10 months. When this thing will hit servers we hadn't had any content for over a year so it must be massive to count as an “excuse“ for the three or four quarters before without content.
