Didn't know about the trip to Cali till I got home from work, but this bit of info just made my other "questions" tingle..
Such as why are they broadcasting "ESO-Live" on Bethesda twitch now? Will we get a surprise Cameo from Todd Howard to reassure us that ESO will continue to be awesome and he is watching? Could it be to prove that Bethesda is involved in ESO and they are going to contribute more to Zos?

A cameo by Todd Howard would make sense, as he worked on Morrowind. He could be there to indicate that Vvardenfell will celebrate Morrowind's 15th anniversary, and declare that some members of the initial team worked to ensure that the legacy has been faithfully transmitted.

This is where I'm at. Why else are they flying to Cali? Why doesn't whoever or whatever fly to them? Because you don't summon God himself.

But what would Todd be doing in Cali? He works in the same building as Pete in Maryland IIRC ...

Anyway, what really stands out is why they fesl it is necessary to fly all the way across the county to California to make an announcement. What are they doing, selling ESO to Trion or Cryptic?

Cryptic belongs to Perfect World Entertainment... And no they surely wont sell their brand to a Sino-International company

And they certainly wouldn't do that in a ESO Stream. They would hold a PC for Bethesda Softworks. And Pete Hines clearly denied numerous times rumours of a Morrowind remaster

To me, this might be a classic spin diversion. This could just be a Mary Poppins. There will be some sugar to help the medicine go down. We will see, but they are really excited, and that does not mean that all of us will be.

It's only reasonable that we are talking about an expansion due to the lack of content in den last 8-10 months. When this thing will hit servers we hadn't had any content for over a year so it must be massive to count as an “excuse“ for the three or four quarters before without content.

The "Next Chapter" can be any of a couple things. It could refer to the next chapter in the main story, and I so hope that this is where they stop. It can also be related to more business aspects of the game, like the next chapter in the development of the game, or the next chapter in the evolution of the business model, which they know many won't like, but have no control over.

Hoping for nothing more than a lot of hype about the main story, and none of those other things.

As for 'expansion', they could do that, and there was a time when I was fairly sure they would, about this time of the year, too. Not as sure, today, but my reasons for believing it remain. It would be an excellent tie in with a F2P model change, would explain what they have been doing in the background, out of our sight, and would be a boost to the player base.

I would not think so, either, but when you ask "what is in San Francisco" those things jump out and say "BOO!".

so hype for this which looks like an expansion, we are close to the end of the 2nd era i hope this is Tiber Septim, Dagoth Ur and the Ash Vampires but it looks like we maybe skipping past reguard, battlespire to morrowind but hopefully not

I hope they are not fast forwarding us to events in the 3rd Era, either by moving the calendar or using time travel.

It is becoming more likely that there is a major eruption of Red Mountain that did not make it into the history scrolls, though.

That area is an ongoing geothermic active area. Its like in Hawaii. Its normal to have lava. Nothing needs to explode. I will look forward to see how they will work around the fact that Vvardenfell could very well look pretty different in the 2E582. Also in lieu in what Foyadas and Calderas are existing... I hope they thought of it and didn't just copy paste the map from 3E427 Morrowind.

True on the Oblivion planes thing. But the teaser image is called "TES-volcano", not "TES-lava".

Wait what? 8-10 months of no new content, what in Oblivion are you talking about

Dark Brotherhood was the last piece of content for this game. I don't count the Shadow of the Hist DLC as content (to call that a DLC is pretty laughable). One Tamriel didn't add any content it just opened it up and Homestead is no content. So yes, when Vvardenfell will hit the servers we had a year without proper content.

I think the festivals were content, personally. I didn't like some aspects of them, but I certainly did have a fun time running around and doing them. I think homestead offers content for many players who have been waiting on player housing for a very long time. (jmho)

I always liked this layout and colour scheme more than the green one. I hope it sticks around beyond the site maintenance.
