The reason why housing storage was scratched and wont be in in initial release is (probably) the fact that (as it was mentioned before) people will stop using eso+ for crafting bag.
Yolokin_Swagonborn wrote: »Housing still needs storage.
People buy houses to store stuff. Didn't know that had to be spelled out.
Storage has been a staple of housing in every other elder scrolls game.
This isn't just an oversight, its a deliberate omission and a shameful one at that.

Simple solution. Houses could have storage that can be used only for weapons and armors. So you will still need ESO+ for materials.
@ValetharNever have I heard of a game where player housing did not allow storage.
SWTOR.
Beyond your standard bank access, there is no additional storage that I'm aware of.
We'll have bank access, I'm sure, since they mentioned assistants for housing. The rest we'll just have to wait for, since, you know, clown crates and all that.

Not disagreeing with the requirement, just the method...
....by removing armour and weapons from bank slots you reduce the pressure on bank storage accounts. Those free slots could be used to hold materials stacks. So you still end up reducing the interest in the ESO+ crafting bag.

Exactly.
Here's what I would do. There would be three types of Basic Storage with the House.
1) Weapon Rack.
2) Armour Rack.
3) Trophy Cabinet.
A Small House would get a Trophy Cabinet.
A Medium House would get a Trophy Cabinet and a Weapon Rack.
A Large House+ would get all three.
Whichever storage options come with the house, you'd get 10 slots for free.
Small house would get a 10 slot Trophy Cabinet.
Medium House would get 10 slot Trophy Cabinet and 10 slot Weapon Rack etc.
Additional slots purchased from the Crown Store at 10 Slots per 100 Crowns.
Ability to buy the type of storage missing from your Small / Medium Houses at 250 Crowns for basic 10 slots.
That way people already spending more on bigger houses are more incetivised to do so, and the ability for everyone to upgrade is there at a reasonable price-point.
Craft Bag would then still be required and so incentivse people to pay for ESO+.
I already have ESO+. I was thinking of getting a Medium House. But I am a hoarder and keep old gear that I like the look of, and trophies / collectibles. But with a Medium House under my proposals I would buy the Armour Rack, and 10 extra slots for Weapons and Trophies.
All The Best

Honestly, I love this idea but I bolded the part I think your confused with.....Do you seriously believe they will sell us 10 additional slots for 100 crowns???? Add a zero and maybe were in the right ballpark !

These games did not have a bank. It's not the same.

Agreed. There isn't as much reason to have storage specifically tied to houses. I am more concerned about the stuff we carry that cannot be displayed in houses, than places in the house to store things out of sight. They can just increase bank space, if people need more bulk storage.

I am not sure if furniture & decorations will be though (when you decorate house on one character will it be also affecting the other or you will be able to have different decorations for different characters).
