    Proving without a doubt to many people that the drops are not "random" in vMA.

    This weighted drop idea is terrible...

    Hey ZOS... running the SAME arena dozens - hundreds of times to get 2 or 3 desired weapons isn't "replay value" or "end game content"... make it so we can actually get the items with good traits ... then we can all get back to enjoying the fun parts of the game with our friends instead of being stuck in this solo content hell that pushes so many people to quit.

    Are you afraid we won't run the content if you just give us a good chance of getting the right weapons?... here's an idea... change the traits again in an update... people will go back into vMA and re-farm those weapons (as long as drop rates are reasonable)

    that being said.... i ran it 2 and 2/3 times last night (went to bed at stage 6 on my 3rd run)

    1st run - gotta love the double resto drops...
    precise resto staff (my second one of these)
    charged resto staff

    2nd run
    infused sword and shield (my Nth one of these)
    nirnhoned inferno (not a terrible drop but its not something i need)

    No it proves without a doubt that many people don't know statistics....

    With a 1% chance to get the exact weapon and trait, there's a 36% chance that after 100 runs , you do not get your desired weapon. 13% chance to not get it after 200 runs. In other words, it's NOT 100 runs to get your sharpen dagger or whatever else you look for.

    And that's one weapon.

    If you knew any statistics, you'd know that if the drop tables were in fact "rigged", you are going to be farming hell of a lot more than few hundred runs......

    The event is just a ruse; the probability of getting desired outcome most likely has not changed. The event is just made to reinforce player conditioning created with one of their "retention" mechanics. To put it another way before the slot machine was $100 each pull now it is $20 each pull and people think "now I have more pulls so I have better chances of hitting the jackpot"; but in reality they don't. Because probability remains the same. But the owners of the machine know more people will play the $20 machine because they think they have a better chance at winning.

    lets just stop there at my 5th run and analyze that ....1.04% chance.

    If i'm wrong... feel free to correct my numbers... always possible to be thinking about this incorrectly.

    Now, similar to rolling a die... but instead of 1/6 lets do 1/96 or 1.04% chance (that's 12 items that can drop each with 8 traits possible... 12 x 8 = 96 possibilities) of getting a bow in defending. (If it is evenly random)

    That makes my 3rd and 4th run a pretty rough statistical improbability... 1.04% x 1.04% = 0.0108% chance... literally a 10th of one percent.... ok, lets chalk that up to bad "luck" due to rng... it could happen.

    Now lets just look at the chance of getting a bow, regardless of trait... that's 1/12 items right? 8.3% chance each run of having a bow drop... then getting that to drop 4 times straight? Go ahead... roll a 100 sided die and let me know when you roll 37.... four times in a row. i'll wait.
    8.3%^4 = That is a staggering 0.0048% chance... that even excludes the same traits.... i must just be lucky... right?

    Again, feel free to correct me on my math but this seems pretty straight forward...

    And since this isn't uncommon... I feel it is safe to think that there are weights tied to certain drops and traits.
    I know for a fact i'm not the only one that sees many, many, many bows... shields.... and resto staffs, not to mention never seeing anything in sharpened yet. Not just from the forums...but friends i play this with have the same issues.

    i did 3 runs today and i got:

    1. run:
    - 2H sword sharpened
    - restro defending

    2. run:
    - restro sharpened
    - dagger precise

    3. run:
    - restro precise
    - inferno destro sharpened

    im happy and never ever will farm vmsa anymore <3<3

    I did my first ever VMA today. Got Precise Axe and Sharpened Flame Destro. I don't think I'll run it the second time, like ever :D

    RNG never liked me, never will. I ran this arena ~400 times and have never received a single Inferno Staff. I have over 20 Sharpened Daggers and every other BiS weapon except the only one I need. I play Magicka and I'm not planning to switch.

    I thought about running vMA once or twice a day during this event, but the first two runs already put me off and ruined the "celebration" for me. I ran it over 400 times before. If ZOS still doesn't think I'm worthy of a reward while some first-timers are, so be it. I'm not gonna rage through every single vMA thread like some others do and I'm certainly not going to quit ESO over it (or even unsub). But it's definitely making this game less attractive for me.

    That's not the right math for repeat drops.

    If you simply multiply 1.04% by 1.04% for getting two defending bow, which is 0.0108%, what prevents you from doing the same calculation for any other drops? What if you got, for drop 3 and drop 4, a sharpen axe and a sharpen bow? Or a charged maul and a powered resto? Isn't that still 1.04% by 1.04%? So you'd say getting any 2 non-repeat weapons is still 0.0108%, a statistical improbability.

    The probability of NOT getting a repeat weapon in 5 drops is calculated as such

    (100/100)*(99/100)*(98/100).....*(95/100) = 0.86 = 86%

    Which means you have a 100% -89%= 14% chance to get a repeat weapon in 5 drops.


    Why? Because First weapon can be anything, so the probability is set to 100%. The next weapon can only be 1 of the remaining 99, so it's 99/100. Third one is one of remaining 98 possibilities, and so on.

    How much worse is a nirnhoned vs sharpened 2h for PvP? Especially if it's just back bar for 1h&s/2h or DW/2h.

    Today in two runs I got a sharpened bow and defending resto, and then nirnhoned greatsword and an infused bow. I'm really really hoping to just do one more time after animal sacrifices and get a sharpened 2h or a inferno staff.

    Had a good day monday....3 runs and got sharp dagger, ice staff and 2h axe...other 3 items were crap.

    3 runs yesterday and got Nirn dagger (meh!) And resto precise....rest was junk.

    My vMA loot drop history. I will keep it updated.

    Previous runs:
    1) no weapon
    2) no weapon
    3) (weapon now guaranteed) infused resto
    4) charged bow

    Now the event runs:
    run 1)
    Infused resto
    Defending lightning stave

    run 2) This was going to be my last run of the event as I just hate to get treated badly after doing hard stuff
    Decisive dagger
    Sharpened inferno (yep, I got it, did a little dance had a drink, yelled to everyone I know and was as happy as I have ever been in game)

    run 3) Since I am now relaxed having gotten what I absolutely need and can enjoy the content I decided to keep running.
    Powered sword / infused sheild
    Infused resto (yes 3/8 of my drops are infused resto's, do you want one?)

    run 4)
    Charged lighting stave
    Nirnhoned resto

    run 5)
    Infused bow
    Charged mace / impen sheild

    run 6) Honestly, haven't gotten anything rewarding feeling in a while. My interest is starting to flag again. Wonder if the reward / the D ratio necessary to keep people interested varies from person to person.
    Powered resto (I prefer my resto's defending and the vMA resto isn't going to replace my vDSA one anyway so pffffft on this)

    run 7) Got to round 7 today with no deaths for that that is worth (nothing.)
    precise resto (this is the 5th resto in 7 runs. I don't want any restos by the way)

    I think I'll make it an even 10 total runs in the event and end running it at that point. I'm at the point where I seem to average 4-6 deaths and 1:10 on the clock and this doesn't seem to be improving very rapidly. I'm just not sure I care enough about the title to work for it. Lot of spawn memorization, lot of luck with stuns and shroom RNG, lot of just not making any unfortunate mistakes at the wrong time. I'm just not sure I care enough about the prestige. As for the loot as a motivator, I got my staff and kinda wanted to play with a huge dps stam build with the vMA weapons but, needing 3 and even now having zero, coupled with really being a practiced magica build anyway.... I also wanted to mess around with the double tripple proc infal / vMA shock build on a DK. I don't think the messing around with any of this it is worth the horrible grind which, statistically speaking, I wouldn't complete until after the next seasonal gear expiration anyway.

    I should thank ZOS for getting me excited enough for the events sake to go back in vMA as I was lucky enough to get my staff before I raged out from bad drops. Hopefully I will get to use it a bit before the next seasonal gear expiration.

    I am mostly pleased with the current state of ESO. Please do continue to ban cheaters though and you guys have to find out who is duping gold and how because the economy is currently non-functional.

    Out of 12 runs now i think since event started, i got 1 usable weapon, sharpened 2h Maul. Last night i got 2x charged 1h axe from 1 chest, i mean really wtf in god's name is that all about!!!??

    I have my daggers/axes/bows in sharpened and precise, i got my resto's in precise, sharpened, infused and powered.

    In well over 100 runs i have dropped 1x Defending Lightning staff, 2x Precise Inferno staffs and 1x Infused Inferno staff (today)

    I've done runs so far.

    1) sword and board
    Resto staff
    2) sword and board
    One hand axe
    3) sword and board
    Resto staff
    4) sword and board
    Sword and board

    Yeah it's starting to get on my nerves a bit..... also it's been doing a new glitch in there to me, at points I can't do any skills or attacks, ultimate included. I can only dodge roll, and bar swap. Sometimes that fixes it, sometimes it doesn't. I just bar swap to my bow, dodge roll and run like I'm in the Olympics and kite the mobs until it finally unlocks.
