How is it even possible that I got two shields with maces? I'm a noob, no shame about it, but it's sad that I prepared for almost a year to overcome the vma and when I finaly did it 6 days ago and then when this glorious "double drop" came I thought...wow, now I have a better chance since all i got in the past was worthless! Now I did two runs today and all I got was that garbage "sword and mace," which isn't even enough for a tank build. It is so discouraging that one of the hardest contents in the game where you slave day and night practicing to complete just gets you a title because everything that i got was trash. Honestly, tell me, is it worth it to do vma for 3 hours (not a pro like u guys) and then get slapped in the face like that? Good job, Zenimax, you just forced me to quit vma.

Mate, let me say that first congratulations. Honestly it is a feat to do it.

My first run took me 15 hours not long after maelstrom was released painful hard... and upon that discouraging.

I practiced and practiced day and night much like what you're saying now I'm down to 45minute runs.
All I'm saying is keep at it, this 2 week event is not to be missed for anyone. The time it is saving is HUGE.

I know it sucks, I know it's painful but mate keep going... you'll be happy you did.

Congratulations on completing this content, as VMA is the most challenging thing I've completed to date on a video game. So as bruh said, that alone is an accomplishment of itself. And what's wild is, VMA is hard for all of the wrong reasons. It's not hard because of the mechanics. It's not hard because of the waves of adds. It's not hard because of the longevity. It's hard because of the bs that occurs, ranging from: Lag, invisible enemy attacks, skills not activating, enemies not dying and staying at 0% health, and so on. It's because of the poor quality control that makes VMA so damn difficult. So yes, it's understandable to feel how you feel.

However! As bruh-bruh said, you must not pass up this opportunity of getting 2x weapons. It's too good to pass up. I know the RNG is horrible. It's the worst I've ever experienced in a game to date. It's literally that bad of a loot system. But, I know that I must keep pushing on and getting that loot.

First run a Nirnhoned Lighting Staff and Nirnhoned 2H Maul.
Second run an Infused Lighting Staff and Infused Ice Staff.

My previous runs before this gave me in order: Powered Axe, Defending Axe, Nirhoned Axe, Infused Greatsword, Decisive Mace/Shield

Id be happy if they changed the enchant so its the same as dagger/axe and got rid of the shield.

Not a single damn destruction staff yet out of 4 runs (8 drops total). Yeah okay. It's real damn random. A buddy is on his 12th run and hasn't seen a destruction staff either of any kind. And yet, we're supposed to believe the loot tables are 'balanced' and 'random'? How? How is it random when 2 out of 4 runs gave me a shield and some crap? =\

Edit: Keep in mind that I've never had a lightning staff of any kind appear in the final chest for me since running Maelstrom Arena since it's been released. And there are also people in the 500+ clear range of Maelstrom who've never seen an inferno staff. This is getting old, and fast. And it is only Day 2 of the event.

Since the very release of this damn arena i never saw a single sharpned piece. Or even a two hand sword in bad traits. Buddy of me got never even one bad bow, and this with a year full of farming and doing a few runs every week. The loot is so fu*king rigged in there. Give us those tokens already !!

Its bad. Like reeeeeally bad. People can say what they want about World of Warcraft RNG, or Destiny RNG. BUT! The fact still remains that their RNG system(S) are vastly superior to Elder Scrolls Online's RNG system.

Chances are if I don't get what I'm seeking for after this 2 week period, I'm uninstalling the game from my Mac, switching my forum pw to something I'll never remember, and also cleaning my computer of its saved pw for anything ESO related. I've already unsubbed a while back, and pretty much got back invested into: Witcher 3, Fallout 4, and GTA:Online. Plus Pokémon Sun and Moon are right around the corner, and the new Nintendo Switch is coming right around the corner.

Tired of the bs with ESO. There's so many other games out there, with devs that actually listen to their play-base and don't screw them over with horrible RNG. MMO or not. Life is too damn short to be wasting months upon months for something that is highly unlikely that I'll receive.

I finally got an offensive sharpened weapon, 2h maul. Yay, but i don't pvp much, and dont really use 2h so meh.
2 sharpened weapons in one day over 5 or 6 runs isn't too bad considering in the last year i had looted 0 sharpened weapons from that chest.
So, only these still to get;
4 sharpened infernos
1 Sharpened lightning
3 sharpened daggers
1or2 Sharpened axe.
Based on my current rate of 1 desired weapon every 1 year i should be able to stop farming vMA sometime in 2026?

There was a hint of sarcasm in that post, yes i could swap them between chars but the list would still be

2 inferno
1 lightning
2 daggers
2 axes

And based on my current droprate would still take 7 years
Even just getting 1 inferno, 1 lightning, 1 dagger 1 axe at my current rate would take till late 2020 lol

I got precise resto staff and infused greatsword, my healer is happy now ^^

Yesterday I had only 2,5h to play so I did two runs and here are the results:
sword (sharpened) + shield (infused)
bow (nirnhoned)
restoration staff (infused)
maul (precise)

The traits are not that bad but no use for my mag sorc

3 run : 3 bow ( 2 sharpened 1. Infused) not bad but already have that)
2 resto staves ( 1 precise , 1 decisive) same as above.
1 charged dagger
Still haven t seen a sharpened axe/ dagger.
