Not that I had the rather high hopes that they did, but does anyone else feel like these latest patch notes just completely extinguished their candle of hope that ZoS has even the slightest inkling regarding their game?

Nevermind the immense gear grind that they are shifting us pve side for, never mind removing doors or scaffolds from cyrodiil, but did anyone else just read the patch notes without murmuring, "uhh what the ***?" To themselves?

It's like they just wrote a bunch of nonsense down on boiled noodles and threw them at a wall, and whichever stuck they implemented.

Any one else just completely baffled?

I agree. I mean it would be nice if we did not have to endure this annual "BOP all the things!" tendency ZOS has, but otherwise it looks like a nice patch.

I'm wondering about the doors and scaffolding, and I'm still looking for where I missed the stamina nerfs. Otherwise a lot of the sets look nice. I don't mind going hunting for new gear, though, as long as I know I'll get it somewhat soon -- and the increased drop chances lean that way.

Gear grind? You can now get good gear from normal content instead of raiding or spending a fortune on guild merchants - good change.

Tower doors removed - good change. You can still tower farm, just without the cheesy free kills against defenseless opponents with sheathed weapons.

Scaffolds probably just remove the wooden net that people always get stuck in when riding a horse through one of the milegates, i don't think they will remove the stairs. So good change.

They made it easier to get the PVE gear and level undaunted - this is a plus

They removed scaffolding and doors on towers because muh PVE tearz.

Same here, stamina's been pretty dominant for two patches now, so I was sorta expecting some sort of radical shift in magic's favor this patch. What all did they do, besides buff Obsidian Shard's healing (lol) and slightly increase the cost of Dawnbreaker?

The patch notes make sense in that they are written in comprehensible manner. However, the lack of class balance changes combined with the significant increase in gear options is very concerning. ZoSe does not have a good track record when it comes to introducing new sets, so I expect the balance issues will just get worse. This is before even seeing what kind of impact the weapon ultimate swill have.

You're forgetting that playing in the overland will actually be mildly challenging now. It'll be way more fun. I don't mind going for a bit of a grind. I've already got 5 characters and now there are new opportunities for them.

Yeah, they did basically nothing to bring stamina in line with Magicka. Sure, dawnbreaker can only be classified as "cheaper than it should be" rather than "the only way this makes sense is if they hired a preschooler and this is how high it could count" and mighty isn't buffing siege, but that does not nearly fix the wide gap between stam and magicka right now. And from the little I've seen of the new item sets and the changes, particularly the new monster helms, they may have made the gap even worse.

I'm fine with the doors being removed, and much of the item sets will actually be easier to get then what we've had in the past so I'm fine with that too. I do hope that removing the scaffolding just means that we won't be getting stuck going through the gate anymore rather than they removed the stairs.

On the whole, this patch isn't looking like it will do what I had hoped it would, and I'm still concerned One Tamriel is going to make Mournhold crash the servers on a nightly basis, but at least we got dueling.

There was nothing that was cohesive or did anything to to adjust balance. The only thing that made a lick of sense was increasing dawnbreaker cost. They gave a battle roar equivalent as a set item(which should send all you "class identity" people over the edge ... Here's looking at you @KenaPKK haha) and all of the sets were just more stack stat to win. This is my opinion and all, but I just read through it shaking my head wondering "what were they thinking?"

The only time overland PvE has ever been a challenge was when they goofed the tweek of vet mob strength way back in the day (before vet 12 was added?) After that overland PvE has been a joke.

I was happy reading along, or at least not unhappy, until I got to the item sets. It's already bad enough fighting a player with a stupidly OP armor combo (looking at you stamblades), but now every fight is going to be either:
    • Whomever has farmed the most OP set combo wins, and the farming will be easy. We'll know those combos by the time it leaves PTS, and it'll no doubt be 100% stamina.
    • Whomever brought the biggest zerg with the most healers to buff/heal/AoE Cap their way through the extra damage will win.
    • Given equally OP armor sets and/or zergs, whomever strikes first or gets lucky with their set proc will win.

    And then the weapons ults.

    I just... just...

    ...

This doesn't sound like a game I want to play anymore. Maybe I'm wrong and it'll play out different, but I'm rather sad my sub just renewed.

Yea those did really upset me when I saw them, beginning with that Ruins of Mazzatun set from last patch. Everyone does have practically infinite sustain these days, though, so they don't change nearly as much in practice as they would have in 1.5 or earlier when sustaining was more strenuous.

I am more concerned about Viper and Velidreth and Stamina damage in general. From the looks of these notes, the imbalance shall continue.

Someone needs to convince Wrobel to play magicka.

I am REALLY looking forward to using the Swarm Mother set on my nightblade sap tank. You heard it here first! (Although the idea belongs to a guildy of mine, he's a tank genius.)

Now THAT set is encroaching on an iconic class ability. It's basically at automatic DK chains every 2 seconds, and I for the record do NOT like that. I will use it though. lol @caeliusstarbreaker
