We've removed a few posts that included an accusation against a specific player. The purpose of this discussion is not to report other players. You should do that using the report function within the game.

We reported, with multiple evidence videos, several players cheating in PvP and nothing has happened to them at all so this occasional popping in to tell us not be naughty seems a little unhelpful while the cheats are still openly boasting about getting away with it - what we want to know is when you plan to actually deal with it OR if cheating is just an accepted part of ESO then please give us official Zenimax branded versions of CE with the code pre-hacked so at least we can play on a level playing field?

This comment is just worth repeating.

I assume they were not successful in making a cheat engine detection ingame . It may have caught a few people early on that we're not careful but they got unbanned anyways . Then players started leaking videos that the could still get away with it . A few of those got banned . Now we all know just by initial information there were over 50 people the first weekend banned . About another 50 in the following months . That's 100 players at least . That's a majority of a faction on a PvP server caught . Who knows how many not caught .

ZOS will not update Us anymore or give any words of support they are still making anti cheat software better ingame . We are suppose to accept most players can make 6 attacks in one second with no lag present . The new suits are to blame for infinite resources and run speeds faster then maxed horses . We are told we are just exaggerating .

Well I guess ZOS never really caught all those people and banned them . That was just imaginary . No one can or would hack this game anymore or use anything against the official rules right ? What ever . It no longer matters . ZOS has shown how important this is to them in action . If you PvP , you do it at your own risk . Do not expect this game company to take your reports seriously because even if they wanted too , they don't have the technical skills to fix it .

Maybe removing PvP would be the best thing to happen here . That way PvE players don't have to be balanced to PvP spec that is always messed up anyways do to the exploitive nature .

Personally, I think that they have no intention of detecting Cheat Engine. I can see how ZOS might feel that chasing down the Boogie Man is not cost effective, unless the Boogie Man is actually doing something that warrants chasing. I can imagine that this behavioral bar is considerably higher on the ZOS side of things than the player side of things.

CE is not the issue, the issue is the bad coding in ESO which is letting players modify the game code. Even if ZoS had the skill or the tools to detect a player using CE the issue is not going to go away as the cheaters are just going to code a cheat to do the same thing.

ZoS needs to speak to an Anti Cheat Specialist to help them in this area.

Problem or symptom either way if they are not going to fix it they might as well just open it all up and let us all run rampant.

So going by your thinking, not only would you open up the damage cheats that some players have been using, you would also open up name tag cheat so you would be able to see players name on all sides all over the place and see where all the plants or chests? where do you draw the line.

Your arrangement is nothing new to online gaming and it does not hold water, i can tell you right now that i know more about cheating / hacking in gaming then any other person on this forum. The only way to fix this, is by securing the game code and getting an anti cheat system which works.

    Security expert - maybe.

Sarcasm and anger expert - perhaps not so much? :)

I don't have enough knowledge to dispute your diagnosis of the root cause, my own limited understanding was that a lot of this was to do with the game processing too much at the client where code can be interfered with and too little at the server end where interference is harder.

Whatever the root cause - of course having a game that is secured against cheating is the best possible outcome - however ZOS show no signs of making that happen whether it is hacking the code or whether it is using known exploits in game. The only action they seem willing to take is to moderate anyone who dares mention cheating outside this thread and to moderate anyone who posts anything vaguely controversial within the thread itself.

As others have said before I find myself questioning if they have any intent to ever solve these problem and are just burying this while maximising the cashing in phase with things like crown boxes before they simply abandon their customers, switch off the game and kill the franchise dead.

Security expert - yes in one way.

I am an Anti Cheat Specialist and have been working in the anti cheat field for over ten years, and over 6 years with one of the best anti cheat system on the market, so i do know what i am talking about when it comes to detecting cheats, Checking and securing game code.

The way that ZoS have been dealing with this on the forums is the only way to deal with it, yes all posts should be kept to one topic, yes to the no rule to naming players on the forums as it just turns into a witch hunt.

When it comes to detecting and dealing with the player which have been cheating, ZoS have been falling short of the mark. This could be down to, not having or talked to an Anti Cheat Specialist to help them, or having an Anti Cheat Specialist who does not what he or she is doing. Or it could be that Zos just does not care about the ESO gaming community.

I am not going to talk about how or what ZoS needs to do on the forums as this would just give out information to the players which are cheating, but ZoS needs to aim higher and start hitting the mark and deal with the cheating.

I've seen 3 guys bot in the same area 8-9 days in a row ever since I reported them. Nothing happened so I came to forums and told botters names in moderators faces. Theyve censored the names and told me not to ''shame'' botters.

It seems there is a bit of confusion about who are the good guys here eh Zeni?

How does one determine what is a cheat or an exploit?

Once, I saw a player running in the sky. Is that a cheat or a graphic error? I have no idea.

I saw a player die at a Dolmen once after a spawn attacked them. They stayed dead for more than 30 minutes. I wondered if it is a bot. Then I wondered if they had to leave the keyboard for an emergency and hadn't returned yet. How can we know?

I don't usually care if people cheat or exploit in an MMO except for the ones that were stealing mats from underground. Will someone say what one looks for in a cheat or an exploit? I really have no clue.

I actually reported what I think is an exploit but in the process reported myself because I wanted to show that I didn't understand.

If you use a bow, not only does your bow line go up but your 2H one does as well

Do you have any 2H skills on your bar or while having your bow equipped? If so, your 2H skill will increase whenever you gain xp.

ZOS doesn't ban IP just accounts . People can buy as many as they want even if banned . They don't have a good enforcement system . Sad but true .

PvP is a play at your own risk scenario in my opinion here . You can't rely on ZOS to enforce their own TOS . If you don't just accept there are people still today using broken mechanics , some automation and still in some cases CE you are just going to be frustrated to no end . If those are just unacceptable then I would choose a different game for PvP . Which I have done myself . My time in Cyrodiil is very limited now . Maybe a few hours a week . I don't return if it becomes frustrating , I just load the other game and have fun .

Be CAREFUL of scammers offering to sell Aetherial Dust - they link the dust in the email, but actually attach Cassiterite Sand (almost identical icon). If you don't check, someone sends the money back via email, without noticing that it is not Aetherial Dust.

Fortunately I check EVERYTHING so wasn't caught. Have reported @Ritor42 (who blocked me right after this failed transaction). Screenshots of the chat and email provided.

Encountered these in Camlorn after I saw dozens of pets out and piles of werewolves dead. It doesn't seem to be a sophisticated bot system, but it's working.

Can we admit that having multiple characters in the same campaign from different factions is an exploit?
