There is (t least) 12 pools of bookshelves :

- starter and zone 1
- zone 2
- zone 3
- zone 4
- zone 5
- coldharbor
- craglorn
- hew's bane
- gold coast
- wrothgar
- cyrodiil
- imperial city

Each book is in one or multiple pools.

The Year 2920: Vol 11 is in Imperial City Bookshelf pool (the hardest).

After there is maybe special pools for some special place like instances of quests (fighters, main quest, etc).

Thank you for the reply. According to the UESP log it is found in numerous locations, e.g . Stormhold, Marbruk and Shornhelm from each alliance. Are those considered special pools or is this particular book found outside of Imperial City as well?

I am trying to determine which source is the correct one.

Nevermind! Found this book - in the northern hut, east of the Elden Root wayshrine. This book needs to be updated in Lorebooks.

A friend of me helps to unlock some dungeons for me those times, a book I couldn't achieve to get without his help is Blessed, Blessed Satakalaam in Alik'r desert.

Book is exactly where the pin indicates (in the manor) but this one is phased with quest.
Once quest is done, book is not here anymore (book is in the phase where mobs are aggressives).
And I cannot teleport to him because it's in the "main world".

Other books phased:

- Distribution Notes
- Enak-do's Ledger

They're both in Reapers march, in S'ren-ja, on a house, they appear while doing the quest but not after. (in Kalari's House)

I can't find The Book Of Memories. It should be available during the 1st mage's guild quest, but I simply cannot find it. I made several new chars just to test it, and can't find it in any alliance.

Confirmed at Lion Guard Redoubt in Glenumbra, on a crate near the northwest gate.

This is not a mage-guild associated book. Did a quick search on uesp wiki and it says it is in Greenshade. Ilmyris at Rootwater Grove.

It's the indices of the book.
Each book is categorized in a category, then a collection, then its index.

Shalidor books are category 1, Eidetic is 2.

Then collections are maybe listed in alphabetical order in UI but they all get an index (and it changes between each DLC).

Then in collection, each book got its bookIndex (and it changes too because ZOS don't add book at the end but in the middle and then shift indices.

And with last DLC, generally indices are moved at the really end of testing period.
For SoH , they had moved when 2.5.5 was released, so I needed to wait until D-Day to update the addon.

For One Tamriel they changed while PTS was up, but they also changed at 2.6.7 when they added Yokudan (because this collection was not added at the end but in the middle of the list).

That's also why I now enable my miner only for 1 minor patch. It avoid issues with indices being moved.

UESP website start also to have some big errors due to this in their uesplog, but their static listings helps to protect their website from wrong data.

For Lorebooks, new db will come this evening.

I just verified that Imperial City had the same books for more than 24 hours, so I'm wondering how long the respawn timer really is.

Not for me. I'm using the ones in the Imperial City base a dipstick before heading out into the rest of the city. Haderus and Trueflame haven't refreshed books in 36 hours, now. Also, I'm trying to figure out if the bookshelf respawn time is based on the last time you entered a zone, or something. But someone else in thread claims that it's a global respawn. Which I suppose makes sense, since if I'm grouped with someone they see the same book on the bookshelves as me.

Edit: I verified with a guildmate that when I left a zone and he went into a zone and checked the same bookshelves I did (we were not grouped), he saw the same books that I saw. So it's definitely a global respawn timer. Just a really really long one currently.

This is still in progress, but here's my current guess for how bookshelf respawn works:

There are two (or maybe more) global respawn timers for books. A bookshelf on any zone could be aligned with a different timer. For instance, in the ground floor of the Anvil Mages Guild, I've seen two of the bookshelves respawn while the other two did not, over a short time span.

I've also narrowed down the respawn time to be between 11:02pm EDT and 6:53am EDT. I'm guessing it may be aligned with the 2am EDT timer they use for pledges, so that will be my next test.

I think each respawn timer flips over at the same time in a day, BUT they're staggered. So Timer 1 would respawn on Day 1, Timer 2 would respawn on Day 2, Timer 1 would respawn on Day 3, etc. I've seen bookshelves retain the same books for 36 hours, so I *think* 48 hours is when they change over, but I need to experiment more to see if maybe there's a third timer (though that would be excessive and hopefully not the case).

I am still unable to find "The Fires Guide the Way", which is said to be in Greenshade in a "City District"; however, I cannot for the life of me find ANY more information on this location whatsoever.

Nevermind; just saw the note on the front page. I think the Lorebooks addon needs to be updated with this - it says this book is associated with "The Artisan" quest in Marbruk, Greenshade!

That said, two books that can be addeed to the "No Glow" category are "Hidden Tears" and "Kyne's Tears" - They are both in Coldharbour, but are not actual pieces of paper or books - they're giant stone slabs. As in, the only way you'll know they're lorebooks is if you run up and see the option of interacting with them.

As Zenimax added a couple of bugged books again within the last patches I made another run for them. Lore Books was a big help. I am currently at a book count of 3032 from the Eidetic Memory. Besides several Imperial Library bookshelf random books I still miss:

I still have a problem with this one. Still haven't found it. I need to have a look in Lost Knife Cave since that is where the book sends you on a quest. Maybe ZoS relocated it there

Valya's Cargo Manifest phases out once Obsidian Gorge quests are complete.
Snowmead's Missive is Quest related and has no post-Quest location.

It may save you a lot of time:) Lorebooks is a great addon, but you need to remember how it works, when players read a book and have the report feature enabled it reports that location to @Ayantir ; it does not have any way to know phasing, quest areas, quest related books (though some I see are labelled with their quest now, not sure if that is reported or @Ayantir has to add that manually) and many quest related books have different post-quest locations.

I moved Adainaz' Journal to the No Location heading.

We've checked Darkshade Caverns II on both normal and veteran difficulty. Recently, I also checked with a character on the dungeon quest "What was lost" and there is still no sign of the book.

From the book text, this book would fit perfectly in the short hallway to the Engine Guardian. There are two skeletons there and one appears to be tied to a root. Also, the debris indicates there was a cave-in at some point.

To know if a book is linked to a quest, I just check the linked quest of the book in inventory. For now, I have 217 books linked to some quests.

The quest indicator is simply here to warn you "If the book is not here, it's cause of this quest". Some are here before, some are heare while doing the quest, some others only after, etc.

There is books which are linked to some quests, but because they only are available on ground and not in inventory, I need a manual report.

For now the manual reports were totally wrong, so i've disabled it.
I already spend a lot of time, resources and motivation, it's a bit too much.
