Alternative suggestion: Whole Eyvea is already filled with practising dummies. It is supposed to be mages' training ground. Give it to us for training! Some bloody NPC's have it better than players. Grumble... Besides, Eyvea is the most useless area currently. Open it for real practising.
Here one of my toons is standing in Eyvea, close to Shalidor's Curse crafting station.
The cliff wall behind, should have a door to an instanced dungeon containing chained monsters in individual stables with different resists and attacks. Any worst quality design goes. Put 5million health to them. Killing gives 1 XP. Put Valaste as dungeon quest giver. Finishing the dungeon would reward 2 XP, a butterfly and a cheese. Call it Uncle Leo's Stables.On hiatus. in all fighters guild halls there are training dummies already ... why not take these and make them beatable for players? they don't loose any hp and look as pitiful as this poor guy.
i spend hours over hours testing rotation, combos even new armorsets to increase dmg and improve myself - in other games and i miss this opportunity so much. sure i use an addon to look after the dmg i've done on bosses but to train my musclememory with a new rotation i need something ich can beat over and over again with the exact same conditions.

OMA✭✭✭I thought, hey this must be a joke....right? So I went to check. First I stopped in at Elden Root to the wayshrine specified to see if I had done that quest, well of course I did...had to do everything once at least on my first time through. There he was though...he's still there for me...I saved him and put his family together. All was well I thought. But wait...if he's in grahtwood then....is he at Hoarsfrost down too? Well guess what? Yes he is there ALSO. There is a paradox...a wrinkle in the time continuum. And he's yellow...attack-able because I of course have deselected the ability to attack innocents. Got myself in big trouble with my thundering presence enough times to know better. Yet there he is ready for me to attack him for no reason whatsoever!
Lo and behold, after checking that guard and that other npc weren't looking I went to town on the fellow. His little dog 'eat eat' could only stand and watch as I tore old Ninglenel apart. But he would not die and jumped up on the wagon to reset.
I checked my damage report. AWESOME! What a great thing to have! No harm done here! Did not even get a bounty for messing with him.
I say keep him!
He's in an out of the way place so he can't be messing with immersion at all (maybe move the version of him in Grahtwood since that quest is over does he really need to be there for the rest of eternity?)

This is suposed to create a more relaxed atmosphere.

fritzOSU03✭✭✭I am glad to see this thread is still very much alive. We definitely need some means of DPS testing so if Ninglenel is our only option then he should remain unchanged. If it were up to me, I'd add in an option for a training dummy in our collection that could be deployed like a pet. Maybe a training dummies tab in collections that would allow us to test on a small variety of different enemies. ✭I have no idea why they would get rid of an npc simply because he's used for purposes other than what he was created for.
It doesn't hurt anyone to have a free dps dummy, accident or not.
The only possible reasons would be lag from many players doing rotations at once, or the possibility that they want to charge for the dps dummies when player housing gets here.
If the real reason is the latter, then that's just dirty.
