The market gets flooded by exploiters with cheap gold mats. Other legit sellers are forced to lower their price....as soon as the price has bottomed out, the exploiters then purchase ALL gold mats that come on the market at rock bottom prices.....this is the "cornering of the market" then guess what they do.......they begin listing their gold mats they bought cheap.....at 200/300/400% mark up as they have the majority of supply. Unless someone can bust that manipulation then there is trouble ahead.

This is just the beginning. Its really part of a bigger conspiracy.

Once they corner the market they will use in-game gold to buy your social security information and start withdrawing money from your real-life bank account and 401k.

    Lmao.

I figure as long as a permanent mark is on the account... the 3 day ban is not only warranted... it's also what ZOS has done in the past regarding exploits.

There are some that have quit after this 3 day ban. Note that by quit I don't actually mean quit.

The small punishment of a 3 day ban just encourages people to exploit again once another opportunity arises

Let them get rich, the poor can afford more cheap items to better thier game to improve thier game, to be able to obtain more items to sell and make gold and continue the cycle on. Without cheap items now and then prices get out if hand, look at perfect roe it's stupidly expensive. I don't condone glitching at all but all these people with millions of gold are going to...well spend it and line everyone else's pockets... the rich are needed as much as the poor.

    Yeah and... No..
That's how it would work in a game with auction house.
Tell me... How many exploits (crafting related) has this game had? Everyone cried doom and gloom exactly as you did.
Did the prices skyrocketed or dropped to bottom or markets were cornered? No. The exploiters did not have a infinite amount of time to keep doing it, it was stopped fairly fast. They might sell their initial stock and it will normalize just like it always has. Now if the exploit was kept silent and going on for weeks and months, then and only then there might be a cause for concern.

This ain't the first time such exploits occurred, and believe it or not, it barely ever had a major long term impact of any kind. I can't see any even now. On PC EU mats all cost more or less the same anywhere I look. So... Nothing to see here folks, move along.

What bugs me the most is that people are encouraged to use exploits when they can.
72 hours ban is laughable when the exploiters still have millions worth of golden mats.
So what's the moral or the story? That you need to find exploits and keep them secret. Good job, Zos...

Exploiters got a few million gold off what they did. I know of people with exponentially more gold than what they gained from this. If something like this were to happen in ESO then it could have happened a long time ago. No need to preach Doomsday in an mmo market.

Well I, for one, think that the small punishment is a good thing and that there have definitely been worse exploits.

If alot of people start abusing a glitch then they will be able to track is down quicker & easier. The small punishment encourages this.

Let's be honest, it would take hundreds of people reporting the same glitch under the same circumstances in order to pique the interest of the devs at ZoS.

What's better? Fixing the exploit or punishing people for trying it? Fun part, none of us are devs at ZoS so we have no idea about the who, what, when, where, or why.

Personally I think everyone in eso would "exploit" a node if it were to continually reappear each harvest if that opportunity would arise. I don't blame these guys for taking advantage of the situation. It is not like they made it happen using some type of hack. I am playing devil's advocate here because this really is not as big a deal as it is made out to be. Zos can only police the game so much.

...? So you'd login to further dehumanize players for an exploit, that they were already punished for by the company of the given game? Regardless of the punishment distributed, you encourage the type of stuff...?

What's really going on with a lot of people in this thread. It's pretty sick. Yes. Exploiting is wrong. YES! But seriously, some of you really need to take a break. Pause. And look at what you all are typing. You have extremes ranging from completely terminating people's accounts, to reducing them to 100-something champion points, to clearing out their inventory and banks, to now implementing a gallows and throwing fruit at people...? Is this really what what some you all here on the forums are really about...? Is that really what you represent...? The humiliation of players and savage means of "getting even"...?

I'm pissed. I purposely don't do exploits because I have 1 character that is almost done with everything in game. I have a huge time investment and would hate to lose it all. This response makes me feel stupid for not exploiting and gives me serious pause about my ESO membership.

I've been in enough MMOs to know that not handling exploiters properly kills the longevity of a game and I seriously wonder about this game now.

There needs to be compensation for all the players who didn't cheat!! Why should we be left out and the cheaters be rewarded with keeping all their materials being able to make millions o gold. Having gold makes a huge difference in the game

Honestly idk what is the big deal about them making money in a lol video game unless they are selling that gold for real money transfer. The real issue is that the devs are going to up the RNG in order to compensate completely hindering everybody else who did not cheat. We are not getting compensated AND we are getting punished. The people who cheated only get a slap in the wrist with a weak three day ban and get to keep the mats. People who did not cheat are being punished long term with a lower drop rate. If this was CCP from eve online, those poeple who cheated would of had gotten those assets removed, a one month ban along with a strike on their account, three strikes and you were out. They dont ** around with their economy.

That was more than likely someone who does not participate in the market so does not know the price. Some people don't have Master Merchant to know what things typically sell for. Same way I bought two Signets of the Warlock VR1 for 50 Gold and a Focus for 100 gold from a guild kiosk back when these were 10K and 5K items.
