NA PC BWB second attempt

I admit that I am not the nicest person in ad. I like to talk a lot of *** to certain people ( I enjoy the trolling from time to time). Yet it's hard to talk about not gate farming and letting dc and ep have their tri keeps due to being faced with so many people telling me to *** off or calling me a spy (or some dumb *** like that). I don't understand the mentality behind gate farming and I know the best fights are at the last emp keeps (depending on who's emp at the time).

I am fond of the community that exists solely in BWB, and I wish that I could keep my toons in there forever; yet now I wonder if I should move on to vet because none of the factions are giving each other space to move when in control of the map. That lack of space kills the fun for a lot of us, and some us resort to getting really salty in zone in hopes of presenting some rational argument that would lead to something positive.

I think BWB is going through it's season, and one day there will be more leads and players who realize the futility in not giving other factions a chance. There are many leads right now who do this and I respect you all.

Thus I thank you all for making this a place we can have fun despite disagreements

Trolling aside, I've seen you go out of your way to help actual newbies in zone chat on occasion. That makes you far from the worst, at the very least.

PvP is getting a bit frustrating because of the bugs introduced with the DB patch. I'm really tired of clunky weaving/animation cancelling, CC that has me sliding around Cyrodiil and bar locked, unresponsive weapon swaps, nonfunctional cloak, getting teleported across the map when I'm executing, ultimates not firing off because cost reduction doesn't work, and my favorite - ambush puts me into a loading screen about 10% of the time.

I can't wait for the next incremental.

Yeah I have had to take a break from PvP. All the bugs make it very difficult to play. It's a good time to stock up on gold in PvE land.

I'm just hoping that the incremental comes out before next week really kicks off. We're planning a bunch of guild events, and I'm finally done with boards on Monday and on vacation!

This is a post more for posterity - and expect a little resistance because of zone pugs, but one of our guild members was the fella leading a zerg to take DC scrolls. I reminded him of the no gate farming policy for our guild and they're all out of there. Trying to keep the campaign healthy!

I was busy leveling a new toon all week, but lol, so much drama over gate camping. If it's just holding the gate keeps I personally don't have a problem with that. Those are the easiest keeps to take back. If people don't want to log on to take them back, that's their problem. And can you really call that gate camping? Now this is gate camping right here:

@EdmundTowers , if people don't log on to take back gate keeps it's our problem. I want to PvP and in order to do that I need people in opposing alliances to be online. I don't take a lot of pleasure camping Warden or Kingscrest with 20 other AD so I can quash any attempt made by the 10 DC/EP that haven't logged out in frustration.

20 AD didn't camp those. Anyways, I don't see a difference between taking TRI keeps and denying them for as long as possible vs taking EMP keeps and doing the same (except the keeps at the gates are easier to take back due to enemies not having port). The same people who wont log in to take back their tri keeps, won't log in to take back their emp keeps. They'll also log off the moment an emperor is crowned. Or join the side with the emp. Maybe consider not crowning any emperors if you really want these players to stay online.

I won't hold it against DC for taking and holding AD keeps and I'll help when I'm able to take DC keeps and keep them for as long as possible.

As a member, Im sure you know how I feel about gate camping and or taking tri-keeps when the enemy doesnt have there scrolls. This horse has been beat to death so Im not going to go into it, but if you want to participate in that sort of thing, make sure you are not running a BYTE group at the time. Our guild will not be doing that sort of thing.

This'll be my last point on tri keeps, but just a couple things to respond to @EdmundTowers . You're right that a lot of people will log out or log over the second an emp is crowned, but that number is a lot smaller than the number that logs out when they see that they don't have their scrolls and they're held at their gates. That's not fun PvP anyway. To compare that with holding onto emp keeps, anyone is more liable to play the game if they enter Cyrodiil, see an emp and they're held to tri keeps, but that an alliance is pushing to reclaim emp keeps - that's exciting PvP for most people.

The 20 AD was just an example, not citing any particular event. I know that I've been online a number of times when we've been that alliance, but also when DC or EP has too. #rememberfrugalwednesday

I was good this weekend, I didn't gate camp once

The thing with gate camping, in most cases, is it's a clear indicator of campaign population imbalance. When a force is too strong that you can't defend any keeps then most players get discourage and leave. The players that stay to fight even have a bigger challenge to find anyone to help take back keeps. The sad thing is, it is not only the pugs that leave, it is even the main guilds that run around making big moves that leave as well.


I think I seen some cheating going on this weekend.

A player from EP was standing in the air above a keep wall firing down at the sieges.

Also, another thing that I haven't seen before this last patch is players jumping from the ground to the top of a wall keep. Someone said it was some kind of skill the NB has. I haven't played my NB lately but I don't ever recall being able to jump walls.

It really wouldn't surprise me if they were not cheating because since this last patch cyro has been very buggy. It is almost unplayable at times.

yeah it very well might be the game's current issues... getting tired of trying to do a gap closer and then porting around the damn map.... last night at nik for example.... i tried to do a gap closer with ookami and i ( as well as someone else ) ended up like 20 feet in the air and fell .... died as soon as i hit the ground

@vamp_emily Teleport strike was able to jump up keep walls. That was fixed in the patch today.

Supposedly patched, but yeah ambush/lotus fan was crazy...so is crit rush. You can crit rush onto inners : /

The floating in the air is odd, but with all the crazy teleporting, who knows. Could be an innocent bug.

There are definitely times where the game is rough to play. I always have a 1-week grace period for PvP after major patches, though--hopefully today's incremental fixes some stuff.

usually i havent minded the whole teleport across the map bug ... usually find it amusing and laugh it off.... but when it starts dropping u from 20 feet in the air and killing you from the fall damage ... thats when it stops being amusing ... so many bugs in cyrodiil atm... hope they are fixed SOON!!
