Looks androgyne to me - who came to the idea to give a woman male hips?- Some costumes in ESO mess with hips as well in this way. Sometimes these people should really go out into the real world and have a look at real women to get an idea, what they look like - seriously.

It might be just that that character has a more rectangle-shaped body. That is a real body type that some real women have.

I keep hearing about the great character creation with BDO, do the proportions have to be that far off? A couple of those look like fun house mirror pics.

Anyway, that's not what I think most of us are looking for.

Just make a believable range of female shapes and make the armor and outfits fit them. Seriously, modders sort out the typically awful bodies Bethesda produces within a couple months of release with every game. Hire Caliente, give her a small team and this would be 200% better by Dark Brotherhood release.

I admit that I dont have a girfriend, but I see boobs every time I take a shower or change my clothes.
But I fail to see how its related to fixing bugs (and Zos employee in this thread has confirmed that its a bug).

$30 for that costume. Otherwise youre wearing a potato sack from lev1 to 50.

Yeah, no thanks. ZOS is already out of their minds for wanting 2,000 crowns for a single "special" costume. Where they can and should take a lesson from BDO is in the diversity and sheer wealth of options in their character generation.

Whats the point of 'diversity and sheer wealth of options in their character generation' in BDO when there is little to no visual gear progression in game.

I think they're just going by sterotypes etc, I mean while sterotyping is bad in general, its not totally innacurate either, although it likely is around 50/50 these days with there been far more women than there used to be playing games like this etc.

You know what sterotype I am refering too: "dude in moms basement, fat, no sex" etc etc.

Just to clarify the sterotype doesnt automatically conform too this ^ but its just a basic example, but I do think the person you quoted is silly. Though I can understand where they get that impression from though.

The 2 new ones are really well designed. Even when you crouch it is not clipping. this is not that easy to do with skirts. The shape of the skirt helps with it of course. It looks overall not overdone, but like something which is really comfortable to wear.

The only reason why I didn't buy one of them is because they look so similar that I can't justify buying both, but they are so great that I can't decide which one to buy!

I might wait for a "third" one to decide. You know, how Redguard and Breton outfits got the 500 Crowns and the 700 Crowns ones first, and then one that costs 1000 Crowns. I'm hoping for a third one for the Bosmer outfits too.

I lost interest to acquire new armours or their corresponding designs after I have seen the pictures of their horribly deformed chest pieces. I might have another look when they are fixed, though, but one thing remains anyway:
    MornaBaine wrote: »
It wasn't just overlooked. It was a conscious design choice to no longer make female character model armor. @ZOS_GinaBruno actually mentioned it on an ESO Live. WHY they decided to cut corners here is a mystery to me. Is the game REALLY doing that poorly financially? Regardless of the reasons, it is a terrible decision and one that was made ON PURPOSE.

The decision to no longer create specific female armour and use a male base model instead. This is a really bad decision IMHO. You cannot just stretch armour to fit another body type. And I am not referring to gender specific body parts only. The overall shape is different. This is like changing a "V" into an hourglass shape. So why not use a female armour torso as base, broaden its shoulders and flatten the chest to create male armours? Maybe because there would be complaints? And you expect this not to happen the other way round, ZOS?

It is a game and character looks are important to me. My main character is a Dunmer woman. Am I limited to male characters now to have an awesome look with future armour designs?

As a sidenote, the recent crown store clothing skins released on 14.04. were done well. I had the impression that previous skins did not take your custom body shape into account and deformed the character in a strange looking way, but this one fits perfectly. No deformation, and a beautiful lore friendly look other than the always present full body armour. Obviously these are not designed for battle - I even put it away for a quest.

Well then. So I have costumes I can't wear on certain characters now I guess. The crowns that I spent to buy that hideous dress, for reasons I won't explain but they're quite funny and dirty, are wasted. YAY!

That gown looks weird on my characters as well - I guess it is due to the wide shoulders my characters have. But as wielders of swords and axes it would be weird to make them with small shoulders, it requires a lot of power to wield these weapons, so they have to have a shoulder like an olympic swimmer. This gown turns both breasts somewhat outwards and bloats them, what does not go well with a wide shoulder and leaves the whole upper part of the gown distorted.

Edit: now when I look more carefully at your picture, it does not seem that your dunmer's breasts are turned outwards like it is with my characters, it might be something else, what is causing this on your character.

    Speghetti_Legs1.png

Actually the hip became a lot more deformed with these costumes than the used to be. Your thigh with is far broader in these costumes now than they are naked, where before they were about right.

At the same time your waist is much slimmer in the costumes than they are naked.

So you get an extreme hourglass shape in these costumes now that look more like some 1870's female ideal than what your character actually looks like.

Actually that figure is not out of place but just the effect which is achieved by exposing part of the hip section. Look at this example picture - it's the famous turkish belly dancer Didem in one of her costumes.

    784ac848ea00fca8aae072aef4b4b51a.jpg

Models tend to have a waist/hip ratio of 0.67 - the ideal most sexy ratio is 0.7 and all below 0.75 is seen as a sportive figure.

Edit: If someone is interested, this is a study about waist/hip ratios in the past and nowadays

Whats the point of 'diversity and sheer wealth of options in their character generation' in BDO when there is little to no visual gear progression in game.

Its a f2p game in core, and even though Western version costs money, there's still rng dyes, cash shop costumes with stats and losing exp on death (with cash shop item that prevents it - idk if its in NA/EU version though)

so basically it is pay to win, when you can have advantages like this by buying an item from the cash shop.

It is. Fans might argue that advantages are smaller than in some f2p games, but a person that buys items from cash shop would still have an advantage over a person that only bought the game.

I guess it would depend on how much experience you loose. For example the argument could be made that not loosing exp is about the same as someone gaining extra experience. Now given it all depends on the amounts. But if one is pay to win I don't see how the other isn't.
