So back to the OP, this has now been turned into a "fix this distortion" Thread but nothing on the female armor.

Normally I go with no news is good news, but that doesn't hold water in the gaming world. Hoping we'll get another ping about this on Monday or sometime during this week!

Agreed. Although I very much doubt they've yet had time to work out the specifics of the problem(s), getting some regular feedback so we know a fix is in the works would be really great.

I think the two are very much related. Hopefully @ZOS_JessicaFolsom will let us know if that's the case and if both problems are being tackled at once.

@ZOS_JessicaFolsom - can we have some kind of update? We've posted a lot of images to show where the problems lie, which I hope are getting passed on to the artists so they can fix it...and actually make us a female mesh instead of using a male mesh, which as you can see simply does not work.

This is obviously cutting into your Costume sales so I would imagine somebody at ZOS should be concerned enough to make this a priority fix (and fix it properly, using a female mesh).

    Comments/update please.

While I understand the fantasy setting, I myself like the more realistic approach found in iconography which in this case is more like the so-called bug: https://youtu.be/Et7l3Fjsjao?t=544 check around 9:00

    Light. Armor.
This discussion is about LIGHT ARMOR. Robes and shirts.
Even though "light" is still category of "armor", its not armor per say. Skill line for crafting it is called "Clothier" and its made of silk, cotton, woid cloth etc.
Also, some of distortion bugs are weird even on heavy armor... There's plenty of screenshots. But the main issue is light armor.

Theres another design issues in that game though:

Same costume... For females and males. Typical Korean design. Not to mention that all female classes are sexy fashion models, while one of male classes is a giant, one is an old guy etc...
Though would be nice if ESO had the simular graphics and especially character creator (seriously, that char creator is the best I've ever seen in games). Cause content-wise BDO is just another Korean grind+PK game with a typical nonsense backstory and maid costumes in cash shop.

Can I get back to the hip flaps? I always play in first person so I don't really notice how they move, just how they look; which is stupid enough. Anyway, this morning my Altmer mage got a nice Khajit robe in a drop and I wanted to see what it looked like. I put myself in third person and ran over to get in the light. Well, first let me say that an Ancient Elf Shirt is really nice and the hip flaps and front/back aprons look okay when standing around. Running, the front apron flares out front and curls like Dilbert's tie and the hip flaps fling themselves around wildly. I don't see how anyone can watch themselves run like that.

So, I got to the sun and put on the robe. It's a beautiful fabric pattern in a nice blue with some tan and the most god-awful, huge hip wings I have seen. Even standing still she looked like a swan was being rude to her rump. I deconstructed it; there was no way I could wear it. I'm just not into Leto and the Swan symbology.

And speaking of curves, I totally dont understand why Zos' artists are afraid of drawing cleavage. Even in corseted outfits character's breasts look weird because of this. Chest slider in character's creation also inflates pectorals for some reason. I'm not asking for armored bikinis and stuff, but this is just anatomically incorrect and looks weird.
I found the female breast and butt dimensions to be somewhat more emphasized in the game than in character creation. A little bit of extra size in CC was magnified in the game, where the proportions appear to be more than was intended. Not grotesquely more, or I'd have trashed the character before she reached level 10. But it's noticeable.

This is why I decided to play only male characters (lovingly called 'my boys').

Because the girl versions of the armor look funky.

yeah korean what's up with the korean?

yes man don't mention that. ...or how about you train your perverted eyes and see this as a beauty or a design work not a bloody sex object for a change?

anyway, let's get back to the real issue. we're not discussing bdo vs eso. but I'll get back to that later.

actually eso's character creation is just fine. but the topic here is what's wrong with the female armors.we got it. they don't have the ability or talent teams to create stuff like jails or underwater but removing female armors? seriously?

what I'm seeing is these guys just stretched male armour models on female bodies in the game to save time and money. Sorry this doesn't make any sense. Because in a game advertised as skyrim's successor, I expect that kind of stuff not to happen. DLCs don't sell enough? not enough subscribers? not enough cash shop money? what's the problem?

ignoring the fact that women actually like fashion more than men. they care what they wear is that even a smart business decision? is that the solution? what's next? removing female characters entirely?

And yeah, meanwhile a game that done by much smaller company can deliver female toons (yes with boob and hair physics) better graphics, better animations, ragdoll physics and all kinds of 21st century standards.

"BDO is a grindfest game done by a korean company to suddenly turn people into racists and sexists because of its weird art style and nonsense region locks and country bans." -wiki : p

No sir BDO, is a compelete game that has better mechanics, better character animations, better art complexity. Game can be grindy, but it's all about tweaking after the product is done. Like ESO made the game easier long time ago. Veteran ranks questing was actually hard back in the day.

First, Im a girl. Secondly, I dont even have anything against sexy stuff in games, but if the same item looks like a full-plate armor on male character and magically transforms into bikini on female one, it is a serious design issue. Why not to release 2 costumes then, 1 skimpy and 1 full plate? But lolnope, only female chars are treated as eye candy.
Speaking of perverts... If its all made for the sake of art and pure beauty, then why there's so much focus on female underwear and why all female chars have bouncing breasts and butts? If its just for realism, its kinda strange that male chars do not have such level of, ummm, detalization.

Also, the reason why I post in this thread is because I want the mesh issue fixed.
But leaning to the Asian design model is not a solution. As I said, I'd be happy if ESO adopted BDO graphics and char creator, but nothing else. To each their own of course. But there's a ton of Asian mmos - most of them dont even leave their market - and they're all very similar. BDO is only different because of graphics, and because it was released for EU/NA players. ESO is kind of interesting cause its a cross between mmo and TES game, and still has potential to be unique despite many technical issues.
Also, BDO is p2w in Russia, Korean and Japan, and no one can guarantee the developers wont choose the same route for Western version when the hype about graphics and cuteness is gone. Like Archeage for example.

Looks androgyne to me - who came to the idea to give a woman male hips?- Some costumes in ESO mess with hips as well in this way. Sometimes these people should really go out into the real world and have a look at real women to get an idea, what they look like - seriously.

I think it's only fair that if you re-accentuate the boobishness on female armor, then you should also make my male Orc's armor look like I have a massive hog. And I mean terrifyingly large.

Yeah, no thanks. ZOS is already out of their minds for wanting 2,000 crowns for a single "special" costume. Where they can and should take a lesson from BDO is in the diversity and sheer wealth of options in their character generation.
