Game Crashing Issues

Missing textures in game (purple crap everywhere), chars with missing features, sounds de-syncing and missing altogether during fights, constant crashes (when I had NONE before the patch). Lag just as bad in PvP, the zerg is still alive and kicking, even more so now thanks to fwd camps......

A new epic level of Foobar.

No crashes as such but I had five [318 : Message queue limit reached]. If I stand still for more than a few seconds the game lags so bad, then kicks me. My in-game ping is fine though.

    Monday night:
    * MoL run on my DK: about a dozen crashes
    * vCoH pledge on my DK: 3 crashes
    * vCoH pledge on my NB: 0 crashes

Tuesday: (after the morning's hotfix had been downloaded)
    * MoL run on my DK: around 8 crashes
    * MoL run on my NB: 0 crashes
    * vDSA on my DK: at one crash every stage (so 10+ crashes)
    * vBC + nVF pledges on my DK: 0 crashes
    * vBC pledge on my NB: 2 crashes

For some reason, the crashes seem to affect only my DK and not my NB. I mean, 0 crashes on an entire MoL run versus a dozen. And then, all of a sudden, with the latest pledges, the tables turned and now my NB is the crasher.

The general consensus of the forum players around here is to 'upgrade'. Are you running a DX 11 compliant card?

Alright! Sorry to hear your friend's having problems. I won't be in for a good two weeks (or more, depending on snail mail). Awesome patch, no?

First, yes my rig meets all the stated requirements. Second, I was able to get into and play on PTS just fine. It was only trying to log into the actual game that I was suddenly crashing before I could even get to the character select screen. Yet a couple hours later it "magically" fixed itself and I could log in with no problem. So, did they hotfix their hotfix?

Only had the one crash tonight (MAC), submitted the report.

Dunno if it's noteworthy or not, but on the crash report it had my account name and player name, for the player name it said I was on Durka Burka, but I had logged off him and was on a different character when it crashed, had been at least five minutes since logging off Durka - only logged on to get hireling mail then off him.

I tried everything they suggested by now and nothing works. System requirements fine, removed addons, changed settings, checked graphics card, etc. Still crashing every few minutes, can't even zone without being booted to the login screen.

    Hello everyone,

    <snipped>

[*] Note that we have upgraded the ESO graphics engine to be DirectX 11 specific as per the 2.3.5 patch notes, and are no longer supporting graphics cards that are not compatible with DX11. [/list]

    <snipped>

We’ll keep you updated on the status of the aforementioned crash. Thank you for your patience.

@Gina, thank you for the info on the crashed not related to Direct X/VC++ runtime requirements. Can you please maintain the flow of information being passed on, we are your customers and being left in the dark without an response to major issues is something that no business should do to their customer base.

In regards to the ending of Direct X 9-10.1 support, a large percentage of players do not bother reading patch notes at all, most likely a lot of players enjoy casual game-play and will never read patch notes. You should have listed it on the launcher so you do not have this type of backlash due to the lack of information given to your customer base.

Here is a link to the minimum requirements to play ESO.

    And

Here is a quick filtered list for dirext x 11+ compliant video cards (Not withstanding nVidia's failure to never fully support Direct X 11) from Newegg, the format of pricing is US dollar value, lowest price sorting method. All of the cards listed should meet minimum requirements to run the game...

On a side note, I can understand why you want to drop all versions pre-Direct X 11, maintaining the data layering would require a tremendous amount of effort to maintain effectively X amounts of Direct X versions of the game, especially without blowing out the installation size and maintenance times. Now that the game has dropped support, can we see a data clean-up in the future to reduce the installation size?

Just a heads up that the GT cards are really not that powerful as gaming cards, despite the DX level supported. I bought a GT720 first, but seeing ~30 fps in 720P, I returned it for a GTX750 gaming card.

I now run 1080p in solid 60fps on high settings, I'm very satisfied, hope you guys find it worth to upgrade your GPUs. My old one was an AMD HD4850, 8 or 7 years old, so it was due time to get a new GPU, and since I currently play ESO on the PC, I figured going with a GTX750 was enough.

Once I get my new rig (hopefully at the end of next week), I might try to find a Radeon equivalent once I can pay off these personal property/real estate taxes and actually get on a steady payment method for all the other bills I have. Right now I'm just shooting bare minimum, I used play with 15 FPS (used to it) and could do pretty well. I just want my Magicka Det and Vicious Death set. :( It looked pretty funny to use with some of the PTS footage I was watching.

I also found this site that shows DX 11/12 cards sorted. Nvidia's up top, AMD is after that.

Performance has improved over time. I was crashing left, right and centre initially. Gradually it has improved. I put it down to server instability while everyone downloaded the update and tested Thieves Guild out. Crashes are still occurring though.

I know some are not crashing, but I played fine for the last 2 or 3 months, daily, without a single loading screen, crash, or error. After the last patch, I crash about every 2 to 5 minutes.

Have done repair, lowered the graphics requirements to Low, and still crash the same regardless.

Losing tons of gold on repairs, lost stolen items, etc, from crashing in bad situations (even trying to play safe for my 2 to 3 minutes lol)

Awesome some people don't have the same issue, but for us that do, the game is unplayable.

I don't have the best system, but I have 16 GB DDR3, a 3.4 GHz Processor, and NVIDIA GeForce GTX 675MX 1024 MB card, so should not be an issue, as it is compatible with DX11 and DX12.

I was crashing every 5 to 20 seconds after login (even at the character selection screen) until I made the following changes:

Changed from Fullscreen to Windowed (fullscreen)
Changed Shadows from Ultra to Off

I then only crashed once in a couple of hours of play.

I have a GTX 770 with the latest NVidia driver (362.00) and was using the 32 bit client (from the launcher). The 64 bit client (eso64.exe) was able to login as well but I haven't tested it over a long period.
