Ok, this is getting crazy. Every time I log into the game, I crash. I could be running through a city or typing in chat and all of a sudden it lands me back into the login screen. I'm on PC not Mac. It's infuriating. The game is literally unplayable due to the crashes.

When I bought the game on Steam, I was well aware that my graphics card is getting outdated, but I was glad to see dx9 support. No where in the system requirements did it mention dx9 support would be discontinued. So I bought the game with the understanding that I would not need to shell out $150 for a new graphics card to be able to play it. Now all of the sudden, theyvre done away with dx9 support.... Should I not be entitled to a refund or some manner of compensation?

And what's more, there's a whole multitude of people complaining about crashes regardless of the discontinued dx9 support, so what confidence do I have that straining my budget to get a new graphics card will make the game work again? NONE!

It's simple... the game worked fine, they released a patch, now the game is broken. They should just undo what ever they did or start issuing refunds.

For the first time for me, I got 2 crashes while in game. This Thieves guild has made the game bad. If ESO is not able to fix this very soon, you guys are going to lose customers.

Actually, there's a silver lining! Unless you don't have to upgrade your PSU, there's some pretty cheap cards that've been confirmed to run the game under 40 bucks. The Radeon HD 5670 and the Radeon HD 6450. I do understand and share your frustration though. Unfortunately I'm one of the extremely unfortunate ones that have to get a whole new computer just to run the game (I needed to do it anyway, I just thought I had more time to do it). But those two cards are for sure up and running the game at a playable frame rate. I think the current crashes might have something to do with some weird issues. Some people running the GT 970 are crashing and I know others that aren't. It's a strange situation.

Cyrodiil PvP had gotten worse with every new update or dlc. The lag, crashing, freezing and now sound issues continue to make game play pathetic and frustrating for players who have to constantly put up with it.

I just left Trueflame 3/12/16 4:00AM est. I personally was caught in 12 load screens resulting from either death, repairing keep walls or trying to get from one keep to another using the transits. In each one I had to finally just alt f4 go get back into the game. I don't know how much AP was lost because of the load screens. The game froze 7 times resulting in complete game crash using the 64bit client many times during fights. Sound issues 64bit and 32bit complete loss of sound during large fights for two or more minutes.

Now I ask you who wants to play with that crap going on continually.

ZOS has had going on two years to fix the countless issues in Cyrodiil. What they have done is nothing except to say "We are working on it" or "Have some fixes in the Works".

Unfortunately, those cards are not accessible to me for $40. The 6450 is $80 from best buy, and if you're reffering to newegg, they don't ship to Canada.... Then there's also the currency conversion which adds an additional 30% to everything from the US.

My PC was running this game just fine before the patch now I can't start the game at all. Reply was I need a 1 gig GPU that supports DX11. Well mine is a 1gig and it is DX11 compatable. Just make the game work like it did before the patch.

Well guess I will be canceling my ESO Plus membership until they can get this right. I feel if a PC played the game fine before the patch it should play fine after. I don't believe there excuse that my GPU doesn't meet the requirements. They are hiding behind a legal technicality to cover there own asses. You don't take everyone's money and let them play for a year then put out a DLC for new content and make it unplayable for existing customers. Shame Shame Shame on you Zenimax!!

Aww. That sucks. :( I hate to suggest this, but is there anything on eBay that'll ship to Canada? That's at least an option if desperation arises.

I just installed the newest update via the launcher, and tried to start up the game. The game crashed before I got to log-in screen.

My friends in the game were crashing left and right, when I used another pc to log on earlier to check my mails and chat a little with my guild, this is where I heard terrible news. A dear friend and guildie have already quit ESO because of these issues. I don't want to loose more friends and guildmembers :(

That's sad to hear. Have you tried persuading them to come back at least casually?

@IndyWendieGo I would if I could. My friend had left 1 hour before I came online and my time in ESO is very limited now, because I depend on using someone elses computer for the purpose, as I can not even get to log-in screen before I crash. I can only hope he doesn't quit :s

When I logged on today only 1 other person was online in my guild, later 1 more came... before patch we had at least 7+ people online around that time, and 4-5more that logged in and out with occasion. My friends list and all my guilds seem a bit more empty since patch.

I hope they come back. I really do. I'm sure when all these issues get squared away, we'll see the DLC in it's true colors. I get it can be frustrating, but with this jump from DX9 to DX11, I'm wondering how there's not more issues than what's being reported now. Hopefully you can get hold of them somehow outside the game. TG looks promising if it'd work.
I hope that too Q.Q also that the patch starts to work, ZOS really needs to fix this patch properly.

TG is very promising, so many of my guildies had been waiting for that content + the new trial ...I mean the trial addicts I know have been awaiting this since 1.5 patch lol but they ended up trying to do the non-vet mode of MOL and the and weekly, because the amount of crashes they had. They can't wait to try to beat vet MOL. And I know my roleplayer friends have awaited TG soooo much, they love stealing ...criminal scum the whole lot of them <3

I know, right? Also since the Mac users found that turning off the auto-loot reduced theirs. Maybe see if that might work? It's worth a shot on the PC client!

This did work, I was contacted yesterday regarding this and was told that he was still around.. I don't know if it was your specific advice, or he read it somewhere els on the forums ...I just am happy I have my friend and guildie back :3

Thank you for putting out this advice btw. I hope more Apple users see this.

Well, Had a very interesting thing happen last night during a 12 man Trial.
I started to crash, a lot, 4 times in 45 min. The last one reset all of my settings, every last one of them.
Screen resolution was set to 1024X768 in windowed full screen at high graphics.
All of my addon setting were reset as well, boy was my screen a mess, had to move everything back to where they were out of the way.
Not to mention some of my addons had a lot of data accumulated, (all gone)

The upside to all of this, no more pink anywhere, no more crashing.
And I can run the 32 and 64 bit programs.

dont use the 64-client. This works not propper and after the patch you will have massive loses of all, also with high end systhems.
The 32 bit client is the better one, but after the patch it doesent matter which one you use, the 64 crashes more.

This coul be maybe a problem of your PC but after all i guess not.
If you have more than 6 Gigabyte Ram, it should be playable, equal with any system you have and dont let you make crazy by any here, who lay to often their heads on the windows. It is a patch problem and a massive zos trolls around.

So far I had 2 crashes on 64-bit, once per day, 2 days after patch, so not a big deal :| .
But tbh I had no crashes before patch.

Still... to me 64-bit offers better graphics and overall game performace, so even with these occasional crashes and missing npc faces and strange noises, I prefer 64-bit...

    Hello everyone,

We want to let you know that we are aware of the numerous crashing reports we’ve seen since Thieves Guild was released on PC/Mac yesterday, and would like to provide some troubleshooting steps for you to try.

First and foremost, there is currently a crash that we are working on fixing that is affecting many of you in various circumstances. While there’s no workaround at the moment, please understand that we are hard at work to address this as soon as possible.

In the meantime, please visit this article on our Support page and go through each of the steps to see if this helps address the crashing you’re experiencing. These steps include:
    • Making sure you meet the game’s minimum requirements (note that this hasn’t changed in this patch, and is still the same as it has been since last year)
    • Checking your graphics card drivers and settings
    • Downloading the latest Windows updates, including the latest Visual C++ update and DirectX version
      • Note that we have upgraded the ESO graphics engine to be DirectX 11 specific as per the 2.3.5 patch notes, and are no longer supporting graphics cards that are not compatible with DX11.
    • Changing your game’s graphics settings
    • Repairing the game client
    • Removing any addons
If you go through each of these steps and your game is still crashing, please wait until we have implemented a fix for the crash we are currently investigating. If at that point you are still running into issues, we encourage you to submit a ticket with our Support Team.

We’ll keep you updated on the status of the aforementioned crash. Thank you for your patience.

So... A few players got crash problems huh?

    How about an entire platform?

My PS4 game crashes. 3-4 times everyday full on blue screens with the same error code every time.

I will keep reporting it to sony, they will keep getting video clips of the crashes every single day.

You just concentrate on PC players and keep them happy.

Im off to buy an Electronic arts game, yes ZOS is officially now worse than EA.

    Jokes on you ZOS.

Latency, lag, crashes and roll backs o'my! Just undo the 64 bit change, PLEASE. or issue refunds dating back to launch on PC. Love some changes made in recent update, but would like to play it too. Also the folks who have to buy whole new computer rigs just to play...shouldn't have too. Fix it ASAP
