No where in the system requirements did it mention dx9 support would be discontinued. So I bought the game with the understanding that I would not need to shell out $150 for a new graphics card to be able to play it. Now all of the sudden, theyvre done away with dx9 support.... Should I not be entitled to a refund or some manner of compensation?
And what's more, there's a whole multitude of people complaining about crashes regardless of the discontinued dx9 support, so what confidence do I have that straining my budget to get a new graphics card will make the game work again? NONE!
It's simple... the game worked fine, they released a patch, now the game is broken. They should just undo what ever they did or start issuing refunds.
. there's some pretty cheap cards that've been confirmed to run the game under 40 bucks. The Radeon HD 5670 and the Radeon HD 6450.

Unfortunately, those cards are not accessible to me for $40. The 6450 is $80 from best buy, and if you're reffering to newegg, they don't ship to Canada.... Then there's also the currency conversion which adds an additional 30% to everything from the US.

My friends in the game were crashing left and right, when I used another pc to log on earlier to check my mails and chat a little with my guild, this is where I heard terrible news. A dear friend and guildie have already quit ESO because of these issues. I don't want to loose more friends and guildmembers
That's sad to hear.Have you tried persuading them to come back at least casually?
@IndyWendieGo I would if I could. My friend had left 1 hour before I came online and my time in ESO is very limited now, because I depend on using someone elses computer for the purpose, as I can not even get to log-in screen before I crash. I can only hope he doesn't quit
When I logged on today only 1 other person was online in my guild, later 1 more came... before patch we had at least 7+ people online around that time, and 4-5more that logged in and out with occasion. My friends list and all my guilds seem a bit more empty since patch.
I hope they come back. I really do. I'm sure when all these issues get squared away, we'll see the DLC in it's true colors. I get it can be frustrating, but with this jump from DX9 to DX11, I'm wondering how there's not more issues than what's being reported now. Hopefully you can get hold of them somehow outside the game. TG looks promising if it'd work.
TG is very promising, so many of my guildies had been waiting for that content + the new trial ...I mean the trial addicts I know have been awaiting this since 1.5 patch lol but they ended up trying to do the non-vet mode of MOL and the and weekly, because the amount of crashes they had. They can't wait to try to beat vet MOL. And I know my roleplayer friends have awaited TG soooo much, they love stealing ...criminal scum the whole lot of them
I know, right? Also since the Mac users found that turning off the auto-loot reduced theirs. Maybe see if that might work? It's worth a shot on the PC client!

This did work, I was contacted yesterday regarding this and was told that he was still around.. I don't know if it was your specific advice, or he read it somewhere els on the forums ...I just am happy I have my friend and guildie back
Thank you for putting out this advice btw. I hope more Apple users see this.
.
Aww. That sucks.I hate to suggest this, but is there anything on eBay that'll ship to Canada? That's at least an option if desperation arises.
The most annoying issue in the game stays the complaining and whining of players, which is, unfortunately not patchable.
Thanks for working on the other stuff, devs.

We want to let you know that we are aware of the numerous crashing reports we’ve seen since Thieves Guild was released on PC/Mac yesterday, and would like to provide some troubleshooting steps for you to try.
First and foremost, there is currently a crash that we are working on fixing that is affecting many of you in various circumstances. While there’s no workaround at the moment, please understand that we are hard at work to address this as soon as possible.
In the meantime, please visit this article on our Support page and go through each of the steps to see if this helps address the crashing you’re experiencing. These steps include:If you go through each of these steps and your game is still crashing, please wait until we have implemented a fix for the crash we are currently investigating. If at that point you are still running into issues, we encourage you to submit a ticket with our Support Team.
- Making sure you meet the game’s minimum requirements (note that this hasn’t changed in this patch, and is still the same as it has been since last year)
- Checking your graphics card drivers and settings
- Downloading the latest Windows updates, including the latest Visual C++ update and DirectX version
- Note that we have upgraded the ESO graphics engine to be DirectX 11 specific as per the 2.3.5 patch notes, and are no longer supporting graphics cards that are not compatible with DX11.
- Changing your game’s graphics settings
- Repairing the game client
- Removing any addons
We’ll keep you updated on the status of the aforementioned crash. Thank you for your patience.
