The above picture is just a bug. I think its a UI bug but could be wrong. Not sure what causes it, but I get it a lot in the sewers. My character sheet and skills show insane damage, but it normally only last a few seconds to minutes.

Speaking of damage, besides general leveling up, is wearing armor sets the only real way to buff your spell damage? I've seen you guys with numbers in the thousands but I'm stuck around 970. I'm way behind on crafting armor sets since I didn't do any of the trait research.

Yes, the majority of variance of dmg regen etc is from gear.

For me, roughly an additional 1k spell dmg is from gear,

Still trying to research more traits so i can finally craft actual armor sets. In the meantime, leveled to 6 and went back to using a Heavy Cuirass cause I love the Khajiit heavy chest piece. I think I'll start with a Syrabane set. I already have a ring I found in a loot drop.

That chest peice does look good, reminds me of sub zero.

I can't help but think you'll out level syrabane rather quickly, I had used it too back in the day.

I just want to use a set that's great for Mages, and I had no idea armor sets were restricted to certain levels until yesterday, why does this game have to be so difficult? So now then, what sets do you think I should go for?

Also thanks, I have this silver/gray on black thing going, and I thought putting blue on the chest piece would give it a good accent. Ironically blue is a Covenant color and here I am with the Pact.

@ArchMikem until v15 or v16 the sets don't matter so much as you'll out level them.

At v14 and less I've always wanted to run Martial knowledge set and Seducer

For end game, krag or julianos for craft sets mixed with seducer or magnus. Willpower is awesome unless you want to use some drop jewelry too.

For drops that I have none of, overwhelming surge, now I can't remember but it boosts dmg when healed at full health (allies), and monster drops.

Using Power Surge gets my Spell Damage over 1100, which is why it's sad the ability only lasts a handful of seconds. I'm also now sporting the Pact colors.

Right now my build is;

Lightning Destruction Staff with a Flame damage enchantment.
Impulse
Destructive Clench
Hardened Ward
Mage's Wrath
Inner Light
Ultimate: Storm Atronach

And then I have a Resto staff backup with Power Surge on the bar. The other slots are just taken up by a healing ability, hardened ward ect.

I can tell you, based on the pic and stats, all magicka glyphs and traits on jewelry, has Innerlight on (can tell by eyes) and may have bound aegis on (can't tell because of costume)

That should get you to that range, undaunted would help too

It could be higher if switched thief stone to mage

I don't mind being friendly, I've actually already had one group help me out a little two levels ago. I ran into a guy in Hammerfell and helped him farm fishing bait and in return he and his buddies fitted me with fresh gear. lol If you want I'm currently in Auridon, JUST about to go over to Grahtwood after I finish the remaining side quests n'such.

Works fine, DPS is lower than on Mage-DK but still pretty good imo. AoE is like crazy and it's beastmode when doing vDSA without healer, surge+stealtornado is great for selfhealing

And does it affect tool tips etc? Please be detailed. Us console users have tons of glitches that we aren't aware of vs PC so I want to see if it's glitched. I've seen damage shoot to 15k on a friends sheet for no reason. I've noted in certain areas my numbers change wildy without any action from me (gear change etc) and the normal reasons don't apply like entering cyro.

You pretty much got it. For console it's just a random bug that effects our stat sheet. I posted a pic on a bugged out sheet earlier.

I think though, he thought u used this to get that high of spell dmg, or was referencing me.
