And yet another negativity filled post. Love this community so hard.

Also, I definitely would not buy Fallout IV upon release. Bethesda's games are always super glitchy upon release. I am waiting at least 6 months to get it.
Tried to get the PipBoy Edition, but those things sold out almost instantly, likely to goons who bought dozens of them on different accounts, so they could scalp folks on eBay.

I bought one. I will open that one. I will wear that one and I will love every minute of it. :naughty:

I loathe the fact that people buy items like that only to sell and make a profit. yea yea, supply demand, capitalism. I call it being a exploitive sociopathic leech. Aka... a good businessman.

What ESO really needs is an Auction Horse.

i think its been past it for a long time for alot of people but the lack of another game to go to has kept them here

    This ^^

The fact they nerfed everyone's gear as they dropped their latest DLC, destroyed crafting, then before they even get the bugs out and all the other issues sorted, they already started selling in game items in the crown store that have barely been in the game a week for $40-$50 even more than the broken DLC they just launched...

They could not be more obvious and in your face with the fact they just want $$$$$$$$$$$$$$$

No one should mind ZoS chasing after money, something has to keep the little blinkey lights on in the server room. What I personally mind is the second rate way in which they are doing it. They're releasing content that was mostly developed during PC subscription as paid content, and pushing overpriced crap in the crown store that will only sell to the compulsive personality disorder crowd. These are thinly disguised freemium game tactics, which in and of itself would not be bad, but the lack of game balance \ bug fixes \ quality of life improvements that have been requested since PC beta make it seem like they have given up on a quality game and are just cashing out on what they have.

They also seem to have made a strategic mistake in pushing the limits of "accomplishment" in this game further and further and constantly changing the "goal posts" of end game. That's fine for the no-lifer crowd that plays a game all day, every day, but the vast majority of players in any game do not put in that much time. It seems like they have catered the game to those who simply have nothing else to do except play this game, at the expense of people who have real life careers and interests other than ESO. It just seems like if you're not pushing the "edge of accomplishment" with the no-lifers who have maxed out CPs and all the best end game gear, the only thing left for you in the game is a single player story line that gets really old after having done it once, let alone several times.

eso has had its chance more and more people will leave I mean I myself know of atleast 30 ppl who are about to jump from game because all zos does is break eso.

I will never give up on ZOS completely, just because I know there are people working there that really care about what they do and about the Elder Scrolls universe. Also it is free to play making it if nothing else- a beautiful environment to roleplay in. I am pretty disappointed in a lot of recent design and game-play mechanic decisions, however. :^(

Actually it's funny you bring this up OP.

What I noticed on Imperial City launch for PC/Mac was the first wave of "feedback" and it died down after a couple weeks. But then Imperial City launched on consoles just as it was settling down and so came the second wave of "feedback" and now it's beginning to settle down again.

So the forums usually settle down around 2 weeks after a major patch lol.

Every developer makes mistakes. I've never played an MMO where every single player was like "This game is 100% awesome and I have no issues with it or its creator". Yeah, that's just not ever going to happen. As far as I'm concerned, they made a bomb-ass game, and I love it. Have they made some changes I thought was overwhelmingly stupid? Yes, of course. Am I starting to see people in-game give up on it? No. BWB fights have been crazy. I'm finishing bounties in 10-15 minutes. Just unfortunate that most of the population is in AD, but we get by.
ESO is still a baby compared to the other big MMOs out there - so give it time, stay patient and you might yet see great things to come. From what I've seen so far, I'm counting on it too.
ZOS, now that I've given you praise, please give DK more stamina morphs. Thanks.

How can anyone be happy with the carrot and stick philosophy of game design?

Once good sets are nerfed to make new sets more attractive. Every major update nerf some classes and boost others. It's a never ending cycle.

Material goals in game are a never ending grind only to be available in the crown store for cash.

The bloom is off this rose. That is for sure.

Simple. Carebears I know are generally happy with their sets because it's not as competitive as PvP, and the PvPers that don't complain like myself don't have max-level characters. Gear, except the 5th pc of a set, is useless when battle levelled.
I'm sure I'll run into the same frustrations as you guys when I hit VR16, but at the moment I'm enjoying it.

Must be the only game that releases New content and gets rid of half its users. Orsinium sales are going to be poor unless ZOS can do something amazing to pull it back.

Eve Online: Incarna would like a word with you. That was so bad that 200 poor souls at CCP lost their jobs. Didn't Trammel do the same thing to Ultima Online? Then there was Star Wars Galaxies and the NGE, so no, definitely not the only game.

The trick is for a company to realise when something is wrong, identify the actual problem and to fix it. Sometimes they do, sometimes they don't.
Even on the internet, clear communication is important; it can be the difference between "helping your Uncle Jack off a horse" and "helping your uncle jack off a horse"; the difference between "knowing your s***" and "knowing you're s***".

As long as you have fun doing it, that's all that matters man. I love using the basic crafted sets. They are generally still pretty good, easy to obtain and I don't have to waste time grinding for special pieces - just craft a set and jump straight in!

Honestly guys, who cares that a few people don't like the game (anymore)? Instead of creating bloglike articles about your personal feelings, mail all your gear and gold to me (PSN: PinoZino), log off and farewell.

Any person that wants to run content with people from their five guilds or friends list that are now empty cares.
Any person that sees that out of a pretty random sample of 1000-1500+ players maybe 100 have been active recently and maybe 20 actually active. Cares
Any person that even tries to find a competent PUG cares.
Any person that remembers that this used to be a pretty damn fun game...cares.

I know what you mean. This however was somewhat alleviated in the system for gear FFXI had. You were able to switch gear any time you wanted and that lead to making different items sets for different situations during battle and out of battle. It was the most interesting gear system I've experienced in any MMO and gave a lot of sustainability to all items, regardless if they were new or not.

Nowadays in almost any MMO, I'm kinda tired of having such a simple selection of items to equip; The "one set for everything" concept and that you cannot change gear on the fly and certainly not in battle, were it could matter. Sure it makes sense in ESO to not be able to switch gear in battle, but that's just because the game wasn't designed with that in mind and no doubt many people would say "It doesn't make sense to change gear in battle!". For FFXI though, it was never an issue of "making sense". The game was designed with this system in mind and it worked very well and kept me interested for a long time.

How is it broken? Explain to me.

Given that since beta I have had less than ten crashes, launcher problems twice, no problems finding groups, only odd and random bits of lag in Cyro, and less than a handful of bug quests.

I am not sure that broken means what you think it means.

Here's a point by point summary:

Loading screens: Yes, this is a problem. I will give you that.

Champion Points: This was always going to be a problem. People saw this coming when they were going to be implemented as some people have time to grind and grind and grind. However this was implemented as a DIRECT response to the community hating VR's. Now they are going to stop adding VR levels (confirmed no level increase with Orsinuim) and this is what the QQ about vet levels has bought. Much like with the skill nerfs. Again a direct response to the community.

Armour sets: Unless you want to be in the top tier of PVP players, there is no real need to get the top sets. I am more than powerful enough without all the fancy sets. I will admit that them nerfing the sets was an odd choice. But name me an MMO where new sets have not come with new content.

Crowns: This appears to be a bigger problem on Xbox as opposed to anywhere else. So, maybe this one is not all ZOS's fault?

No chatbox on console: Again, an odd choice. Especially given FF XIV has one. But I personally found that rather fiddly. But as a PC player, this isn't a concern. I am willing to bet that a chatbox will be added though. Soon (tm)

these are all broken. the catch up system of holding back ppl with high cps that they are working on will not fix it just delay the broken factor. they released IC with bugs still in it before taking the time to smooth it out. the customer support is garbage. and with all the skills that they nerf into the ground rendering them impractical to use is just a joke. the way they fix things is by taking the said thing breaking it and making it not worth using. and im sure you will see once the next dlc there will be just as many if not more issues in the game. the game without the crap servers and bugs would be fun I give you this. but once you start seeing all the things that don't actually work in the game you will see it needs a whole revamp entirely

Less then 10 crashes must be a record. You probably dont pvp a whole lot if thats all you got. Just last patch i was probabaly sitting on ~100 for the whole time it was out (and i didnt play for about a month of that).

There was a ton of launcher problems in the past where people had to reinstall the full game again, corrupt updates etc.

He is a console player so they dont text chat to ask for groups. I would like for you to find a group with group finder on PC. Go try lol.

Cyro lag..... dont even bother trying to defend them here. PvP was broken from about patch 1.3-1.4 onwards. PvP broke in 1.2.3 where the light patch screwed the entire game over and they lost a giant portion of their pvp player base then. They never fully recovered, and then the lag happened. Now we are getting pretty good performance, its a shame there is 1/100 of the player base left to play it if that.

You remeber when there were 9 campaigns, with total player caps of 600-700 each faction and places like wabbajack/bloodthorn/auriels bow/dawnbreaker would be pop locked, 2 bars in some of the minor campaigns. Now the caps are at about ~200 give or take. Azura pop locks but the que is quite small and you consider that 60% of those players are in IC pveing. The only other active pvp happens on trueflame really and even that has alot of pvers in IC. All the other campaigns are just IC servers.

Lets look at how broken 1.6 really was mechanics wise. Nirn effected total spell res and not item. Magicka builds became useless. DW sharpened maces penetrated through 100% armour. Armour became useless. People running around with 3/4 mundus active at the same time. Sorcerers running around with magelight active because of the overlord exploit. And when did they fix this. Not when the bugs came to light. Not when the game was becoming ridiculously stupid. Months and months later when they decided they should fix it with IC launch. It should of been fixed the next week or two weeks after it was discovered, not months after....

The amount of bugged quests they fixed during the first couple months was quite high. Heck, even main quests related to the harbourage story were broken.

Dont say this game wasnt broken when it was. They might of fixed alot of it but they took way too long. and even worse, they introduce new bugs and exploits into the game like the rearming trap.

See, to me what needs a revamp is the way that ZOS listens to the community. A lot of the game is the way it is because of knee-jerk nerfs and reactions.

What platform do you play on, may I ask?

Imperial City, to me, is okay. It was the base patch that came with it that changed so much. Like all of the nerfs etcetera. What I will say about Imperial City is that it is very, very grindy. There is a lot of grinding for stones and gear and trophies. I like the aesthetics of it greatly.

And never mistake broken for exploitable, like the CP system is. If it were broken, nobody would be able to use it. You can use it.

    Dissolve*

If you are so against the game, why are you here again? What constructive feedback are you bringing to these forums? None? Then off you go on your merry way.

it is constructive if they dissolve then we could get on with our merry life and maybe someone else can buy out esotu and make it into a good game not a broken worthless one haha

How is it broken? Explain to me.

Given that since beta I have had less than ten crashes, launcher problems twice, no problems finding groups, only odd and random bits of lag in Cyro, and less than a handful of bug quests.

I am not sure that broken means what you think it means.

They might of fixed alot of it but they took way too long. and even worse, they introduce new bugs and exploits into the game like the rearming trap.

    another viable post on broken

A part of me thinks that they go a little overboard with what they've done to ease complaints. People complained about how boring the VR zones were and how the VR system gave little rewards and weren't worth it. So instead of just making them exciting by adding some small stuff with big rewards and adding in the increases to XP, they made the CP system. (I love the decrease in amount to level and increase XP though).

It's like if you tell your significant other that the cereal you're eating is a bit dry and they make you this insanely huge breakfast with eggs, sausage, pancakes, French toast and the works... when all you needed was some milk. Ya know?

I like the CP system and all, don't get me wrong, but they didn't truly fix the issue. VR zones are more bearable now because XP we get from them is increased but overall I'd rather shower with a polar bear then level in the VR zones still. You add in some other problems that have been mentioned in this thread and yeah... I think people are giving up a little. However if they get their act together and Orsinium is bad-ass... people will quickly come back. In my opinion they are not at the point where people don't come back at all.

The game is fun and a pretty great game, just with a few issues that ZOS haven't fixed that are holding it down.

New skill lines (hopefully Dark Brotherhood and Thieves Guild), spellcrafting and things like that might bring people back.

what is most disheartening to me is the fact that every time they release a new jumbo patch or DLC, they introduce some hampering game altering bugs it seems. and what is worse is every incremental patch they release is about as useless as their ESO Live segments. they NEVER seem to adress the real problem. instead they do allot of bandaid/patchwork and work arounds. a good example of this was the nerf to Stamina regen while blocking. rather than making it so you cant cast at all while blocking, they nerf stamina regen... its such backwards, half-a$$ed, lazy ways of doing things. this is how they have approached every problem since release and it is pathetic.

my concern now is, what will they do when Orsinium comes out? or the more important question, what game breaking bug are we going to have to deal with after Orsinium comes out? are loading screens going to double in duration witch each DLC release? is the lag ever going to be addressed? it seems with each patch the game lessons in playablity, both in content and in frustrating bugs. my faith would be restored if they just polished and fixed the game so that its playable and fun without frustraiting bugs, which some have been lingering since beta.

Not at the point where people won't return?? Neverwinter's player population went up like a rocket because people are changing games. And if they get a better experience from playing that than ESO, why would they want to come back? First impressions count for a lot, and ZOS have made a bad 1st impression to console users.
