The best part is fighting a group over and over, and then see them suddenly using shield breaker. It's an honor, really.

Yes. Being a sorcerer you should learn to deal with not using shields, wearing light armour and limit your blocking because of your small stamina reserves and no regen whilst blocking. It sounds fair, right?

Sorc already got nerfed with steak cost and shield strength...sounds like you're another Sorc qq'er and have a l2p issue but ZOS bailed you out of needing skill...

They did say they planned on using itemization to balance different things in game. So rather than coming up with an in game way to counter shields they just said "we'll make a set for it." I expect them to take this route more now, who needs to plan out something when you can just wear something as a counter?

No, the recap tells you what you were punished for: Pouring all your attributes into magicka, ignoring health, and not using any food to boot.

No, the recap tells you what you were punished for: Pouring all your attributes into magicka, ignoring health, and not using any food to boot.

Taking out a sorc with superior DPS and excellent timing is skill. This set has nothing to do with skill.

Taking out a sorc with superior DPS and excellent timing is skill. This set is not.

I can't wait to see what sets follow this one. Maybe we will see the cloak breaker, why use skills to counter other skills when wearing some armor will do?

a) my attributes are not all poured into magicka, some are in stamina.
b) I am using tri stat food
c) Even if i did pour all my attributes into magicka and used drinks, that means i should be punished by irresistible damage that hits me every 0.2 seconds for 2k just for playing how i want to play?

try powersurge + quick siphonining , works when you have equal numbers or 1v1.

ZOS dont want 1vXing or smallgroup Vs Zerg. Which is why they introduce alot of stupid changes.

To be fair, sorcs are able to block extremely well now, in fact you can pretty much perma do it

Played my sorc for a bit yesterday. Did not have too much issue dealing with some yahoo running shield-breaker on me.(in a group to meat-shield him no less) My mutagen ticks helped mitigate some of the pressure, along with me focusing them and forcing them to actually press other buttons on their keyboard.


The issue I foresee arising... is 2+ yahoos running this set at once and spamming weighted light attacks. This goes beyond a sorc issue. Any magic build that relies on heal ward as a self-heal(Everyone... except templars) will have no counter to 2+ shield-breaker users focusing them at once with machine gun weighted light attacks. Light armor DKs "would"(hence the would please) be able to counter them, if Dragonblood wasn't destroyed by the heal nerf... but it was. And while Blessing of Protection is good for 1 person focusing you, it doesn't save you against multiple people attacking you like Breath of Life does. Which is why blessing + heal ward is popular this patch, but it will not help you against two yahoos mindlessly spamming flat 2k light attacks focused on you. Templars are the only ones that will be able to handle multiple shield-breaker users attacking them at once.




This set is like, the definition of cheese. You could get this set at lvl 10, and give it to someone who just bought this game. And they would pose a threat just spamming light attacks that do a flat 2k dmg.



I don't mind the concept of this set really. Even if it's clear that ZOS is just trying to not actually balance anything, and instead offer band-aid solutions that are hidden under a power-grind. Or trying to appeal to players whom refuse to actually learn anything about the game. But the execution of it is total cheese. It needs to be re-worked/adjusted.

Considering not only sorcs can and do use shields, yet they're the ones upset the most, I'm not surprised the counter to their easy mode is causing some distress.

Rough translation, try not to use shields when taking damage. In all honesty, the only way to know if you are even facing this set is to make sure your shields are indeed up but your health is still going down, its not a skill that you can spot and actively counter.

If you as a sorc encounter this set and cannot win just do what you always do when you about to lose.... Bolt escape over the whole map! Oh wait thats fixed too so now you actually have to fight
