ESO+ Subscription Benefits Suggestions

No priority Qs. (and this from someone who is subbed into July) I just think that people should be encouraged to fill in where their faction is lighter rather than keep trying to pile in to where they are locked and all a priority Q does is provide an incentive because they want to pile on.

    Give subscribers an auction hall.

Doesn't have to be some all the time thing, could be some shady, traveling, black market deal that pops up once a week (or once a month).

The trick is to balance the benefits of the subscription in order to encourage players who truly enjoy the game to jump in.

I think the benefits as outlined could be beefed up some.

    Things like....
    * discount on all items in the store during the duration of the subscription (including DLC)
    * "Item of the month" - this is very much appreciated in TSW. All active subs are given an item unique for that month (pet, costume, mount, title, etc...)
    * "Loyalty store" - once again, in TSW, active subs are given "Veteran points" which can be used to buy items only available in a special part of the store. These range from pets, vanity items, convenience consumables, etc...
    * extra character slots is always a good thing

I don't think we will ever be given free DLC out right. We will already get 1500 crowns a month which can be used towards the purchase of DLC (which you'll be able to access whether you own it or not via the sub). If you throw a discount in there - it'll make subs even more enticing.

We have yet to see pricing on DLC, but with TSW - it is never more than a month's worth of currency (even before the discount).

So you suggest giving imperial edition items to everyone... then why did I buy the Imperial edition during beta?

    fixed it for you.

But to answer your question, as an imperial edition owner, you wouldn't have to subscribe to enjoy the imperial edition perks, such as the Mudcrab (do you even use it?), the Imperial Mount (will you be using it with all the other mounts coming out?), and the ring of Mara (does that even work for you anymore?).

Besides, you got 5 day early access for the Imperial Edition.

The pre-order / imperial edition benefits aren't available to current subscribers simply for a Subscription, I don't think they should be made available simply for a Subscription. They should be crown store purchases.

But... as Subscription benefits ZOS would stand to make a MUCH larger profit. Don't you want that for ZOS?

Personally, I think the sub bonuses are fine. The only thing I would like to see added, is a small discount % to purchases made from the store. 10% would seem fine to me.
Force weapon swap to have priority over EVERYTHING. Close enough.
Make stamina builds even with magicka builds.
    Disable abilities while holding block.
Give us a REASON to do dungeons more than once.
Remove PVP AoE CAP. It is ruining Cyrodiil.
Fix/Remove Forward Camps. They are ruining Cyrodiil.
Impenetrability needs to REDUCE CRIT DAMAGE. Not negate entire builds.
Werewolf is not equal to Vamps/Bats.

I actually can't believe there hasn't been ANY announcements regarding the addition of subscription benefits. I'm guessing if the crown store isn't as fruitful as they are seem to hope it will be we might see some carrots added to the crown store at a later date.

    Here

it wouldnt be a big loss if it was lost because your + sub ended, extra character slots might be.

They nerfed all the mob xp gains in craglorn and in dungeons to make room for the sub options, the thing is a 10% increase doesn't add up to the 50% xp nerf.

a 10% bonus to a few things is honestly a slap in the face.

if u use addons that show how much xp u get per mob it was cut in half, go to craglorn or anywhere and report back when your Vr xp bar moves.

If they unnerfed the xp of mobs and dungeons the sub benefits would seem decent, but not until that happens.

also, 10% is low, really, really low, for staying subbed.

edit: after using calculator it turns out to be a 24.46% xp nerf per mob, degrading by how many mobs you pull at once I am guessing as an anti xp farmer method, in the past you could pull 20 mobs as once and see your bar actually move, not anymore.

double edit: the veteran dungeons remain the best source of vr xp and Cp exp gain possible in the game, forcing the soloers to group if they want actual xp.

The more people know the better, not everyone uses addons for these types of things to notice.

I 100% agree. I would REALLY like to stay subbed but the ONLY reason I have to stay subbed is to support ESO... to be able to say, if it ever completely fails, "Well, Gid... you did all you could do." but with the way the past 10 months have gone and the fact that we really only got 2 of the 'promised' 6-8 'DLC level updates' during the past 10 months, the decision to go buy to play, the loyalty rewards being mishandled, and most recently the seemingly broken concept of the Champion System... I don't know if I even WANT to throw more of my money at whatever problems ZOS has been trying to fix.

The subs need to offer more than they are... plain and simple. especially when compared to what other MMOs are doing, ESO PLUS is severely lacking.

Well I need to be careful how I word things but, if they are selling the loyalty reward items in the crown store ( which they are ) and they are also still selling the imperial edition when it was supposed to be limited, you can guesstimate the road ahead.

So to add some constructive criticism for once, I propose upping the sub benefits to 25% to all mentioned buffs, xp, crafting etc, and then the xp potions that will be in the crown store will be extremely appealing to many people especially myself.

Is Grandmaster when you paid for a lifetime subscription?

That is correct. Was a good investment imo. TSW character graphics don't fare well compared to ESO, but it is still a superb game.

Man I wish ESO had offered a lifetime subscription. The fact that they didn't kind of alludes to the fact that they planned on this b2p move from the very beginning.

I would go ESO lifetime in a hearbeat. People say it's bad for the developer, but I don't know.

TSW, for example. I've been a Grandmaster for more than two years. That was a $200 initial investment.

    "So they're losing money! That's $360 in $15 a month sub fees!"

Well, sure. If I stayed subbed that long. I love TSW, but I wouldn't have been subbed that long, let alone at all, and, at best, they'd only have received my money for a few of the DLC packs they've offered. At this point, they'd have well under triple digit dollars from me over the course of more than two years!

Instead, by offering a lifetime option, they received $200 up front from a guy who hardly bogs down their servers, and requires little extra effort on their part since things like free monthly cosmetic items are already being created for the monthly subscribers. I'd love to see their numbers, and how they feel about their decision to offer lifetime subs two-and-a-half years later. They in fact do occasional sales on lifetime subs, as recently as last month, leading me to believe it's actually fairly profitable for them (or why bother pushing them still?).
"It's morally wrong to suggest gameplay changes for an MMO."
...seriously, someone told me that once here. The things people will do to win their internet arguments!

Sorry but I don't support the suggestions
The current model addressed the criticisms spot on

These suggestions aren't directed at any criticism which resulted in removing the sub requirement.
If any change makes the ESO plus a must have they may as well have kept the sub requirement.

These suggestions are headed in the wrong direction and will seemingly cause more problems than otherwise attempting to correct any ideas that may benefit some improvement

As a subscriber I would expect at least the following:
    • Two Extra Character Slots
    • Unlimited Delete
    • +50% Base Bag Space
    • +50% Base Bank Space
    • Free Horse (Not Imperial)
    • Monthly Crown Allocation

For a game that is so heavy on materials for crafting the number of bank/bag space available is, frankly, appalling.

The subscription gives you the price equivalent in crowns (1,500) plus access to DLC and a 10% progression bonus for free.
You're paying the same as anybody else that plays for free and buys crowns instead, in fact you might be paying less.
Your subscription and loyalty as a customer is important, but honestly you're asking for far too much.

I just wish they would drop the price. The benefits are fine, but not for $15. I've gotten plenty more out of my subscriptions to other games for half of that.
Drop it to $10 maximum and I'm sold. No questions asked.
Obviously I also believe the current price of crowns should be adjusted too. Starting at $5 (USD) and working up from there. Starting off at around $8 just to get anything from the shop at all is a little ridiculous.

While I don't agree with some of the OP's outlandish suggestions, I do agree that (be it a game, or RL) you should not expect to be able to be on even footing with someone who puts more effort than you (time OR money).

Putting subs and non-subs on a "level playing field" only makes it so the sub is even less enticing for a game that is already struggling.

To be clear: I do not support pay to win, but I also don't support people not contributing towards content production cost/maintenance getting to have the same say/benefits as someone who does.
What needs to change is adding DLC and stuff in the crown store

This, however, I agree with whole-heartedly. People will be less frustrated and not as focused on little things if they have a REASON to be in the game that they want to play.

I agree that we need DLC and that WILL make ESO+ enticing but there will be people who subscribe to ESO+ for one month, run through the content, then unsubscribe. So, unless ZOS is planning on selling DLC for $15... people will be able to shortchange ZOS on accessing the content. That is a pretty poor design if you ask me.

I agree that some of the suggestions are outlandish @Yinmaigao. This was a wish-list. I pretty much added everything I could think of that would be a somewhat reasonable thing to have as a benefit in hopes that one or two of them would be considered.

@Yinmaigao & @NewBlacksmurf What of the original list would be considered pay to win? None would give players direct benefits over other players.

Nothing on the current ESO is is pay to win so don't break what doesn't need fixing.

If you increase anything by any increment it causes a concern and begins to pressure ppl to feel like they have to sub. Then ZOS is back where they started.

DLC can be priced as $5-$40 depending upon the content
The best action right now is the leave well enough alone and keep cycling cosmetic items in the crown store. Work on DLC and pump it out every 2-3 months.
