    Bit of youtube, bit of overmodded Skyrim, keeping myself occupied. Got a message this morning that my ticket had been escalated to the devs, so that's something.

    It sucks the most for people that just bought the game and cant even install it (like me)... Got it yesterday and was all pumped up about playing, and now i'm just looking at youtube vids about it. But 2 days of gametime are gone poof. Hope they fix it soon.

    My advice to all the new players would be to submit a ticket (if you haven't already) with the requested files. Hopefully then this is over ZOS will be able to compensate everyone effected.

    Obviously I can't speak for them, but from my experience dealing with ZOS since beta/early access they're pretty nice people and normally willing to give out game time compensation where it's due. Hopefully they do that for all of you newer players effected here.

    Also as sad as it is you've all been effected by this, and as much as a I moan about their incompetence (sorry ZOS!) ZOS is a company with some great people and the game is worth the wait.

    Agree with that, a few friends that are already playing said pretty good things about the staff so i have complete trust that this will be fixed. And the game is worth the wait. Atleast you will come in prepared after watching all the vids about it. :D

    Yeah, same here :/ I got the game as a gift from my best friend the day before yesterday.. I was so excited buuut no. Just YT vids about it, as you.. ;_;

    Yeah, I just really hope they'll compensate us for it, then honestly I'd feel less upset about this whole ordeal! I totally understand what you say though, I mean.. In situations like these I always have to remind myself of the last season of The Guild, where everyone goes mental on the game creator and Devs and such, but no one realizes how hard at work they are behind the scenes.

    It's easy (I know I sure as hell am guilty of this in cases such as these!) to turn into a (semi-)keyboard warrior. :)

    You guys forgot to mention one important aspect of this problem.

    Many people bought the game in last 3 days. The game was released in april? Seriously?

    Should this kind of problem happen like half a year after official game launch?

    PS. Im mostly pissed because i have 3 days break from work and i wanted to spend them on TESO.

    PS2. Since this problem affects dumb launcher/their servers, does anyone know if whole game client can be downloaded from any kind of source?

    Code can break when edited at any time, regardless of whether it's 6 days or 6 months after launch.

    It does work. If your friends can share their working 1.5.3 EU client with you - give it a try. Just launch it with eso.exe after that and don't touch the launcher.

    It seems likely this this issue was caused by the issues with the launcher that happened on Sunday (early deployment of a patch then fixes needed). While it shouldn't happen in an MMO it's the kind of thing that does happen.
    I have seen and heard of worse things from MMO's even years out of the door, the important part is how fast and professionally they deal with the situation.

    To my knowledge the only places the game can be downloaded from are Steam or the ESO accounts page. I am not even sure if Steam just directs you to their launcher.

    If you haven't already Chantaz drop them a ticket about the issue and hopefully you will get some compensation time, while it won't bring back the days you had off work and free at least you won't lose time.

    Funny, cause i didn't see problems like this in any MMO on the market. That's *** and you know that.


    There are small bugs and big bugs, but this is just total fail. The market is harsh at the moment and customers are demanding, especially if you expect them to pay 15 $ / month for your product.

    I can really forgive anything regarding in game bugs, server problems etc. But when im unable to even install a product that was released several months ago? Maybe ZOS programmers are busy playing new WoW :wink:

    I really think the launcher problem is like this >...< small and it requires a 2mb hotfix that somehow repairs the launcher checksum ability.

    All in all it's all about launcher not recognizing game client properly.

    Just want to say thank you to the users who have posted on this thread - I purchased the game yesterday, have the same issue (only d/ling patch, not the game) and without this thread wouldn't really know what's going on.

    I guess I'm hoping for the issue to be fixed when they do the work late Thursday Night, just such a shame they won't simply change the file available in the launcher until then.

    No problem, just trying to keep everyone up to date as best as I can. I know first hand how frustrating it is to be in the dark about a new game you can't even play! :)

    Bought the game 2 days ago, can't play on EU server, so I installed NA server. Downloaded 25 GB to play for about 30 minutes, and BOOM! "The North American megaserver is now offline for maintenance, and is currently unavailable." Great start.

    Oucchhh! :S I've got the same with the 2 days ago bit and not being able to play on EU due to all this. I tried to install the NA one last night but it failed. Guhghghr. Frustration :<

    One more day to download the game.
    --> 6 days without being able to play beacause of a launcher problem.
    What Zos will do to compense that ?

    I'm quite sure they will compensate. I have played since early access, I have never had any problem or downtime except maintenance until November 9 and yet got compensated for inconveniences in the first months.

    @Nhayara ZOS are very good about compensating and appeasing their upset players. If you haven't already submit a ticket about this issue. Follow the information posted a few pages back as well.

    When it's fixed if you don't hear anything contact CS and ask about it, I have had a decent number of free days in compensation for various issues in the game/launch. Just be polite and respectful, explain the situation and their CS are great people.
