Character Copy on the PTS

We have some good news about testing content on the PTS!
We've completed copying over all the characters from the North American and European megaservers to the PTS. From here on out, you'll be able to access your NA and EU megaserver characters on the PTS.
A couple notes about the copy:

A couple notes about the copy:
- This is a copy, not a transfer. Your NA and EU megaserver characters are still there.
- No progress made on PTS will be reflected back to the NA and EU megaservers.
- Character data and progress for this upcoming testing period was copied from the live server on November 19th.
- As new Updates become available to test, we will perform additional data copies from the live server.

✭✭✭✭✭Nice! Now I can compare my DPS to live more easily and:
1). My DPS has gone up and I can now solo DragonStar Arena and one-shot entire NPC guard garrisons in Cyrodiil. "Great patch, ZOS, keep up the good work! Best game ever!"
2). My DPS has gone down 0.00243%. "Awful patch. This is the most extreme nerf any class has ever received ever in any MMO ever. Worst game ever!"
All joking aside, this is actually a great enhancement. While people will overreact to every little change, people will recognize changes more quickly and see how they affect their regular build and gameplay.
Will you wipe these PTS characters every cycle and re-copy them from live? So these will remain for testing Update 5 on PTS but then you will do this copy again and get the most recent character date before testing Update 6 on PTS?2 -

We don't really have a set cycle for updating the copy. That said, we'll likely do it right around a new update. The plan is to copy one megaserver's characters and let that group test with their characters for a bit, then do another maintenance a few weeks later (give or take) to copy the other megaserver's characters. Note that when we copy one megaserver's characters, the existing ones will be wiped. For example, the next time we do a maintenance to do a new character copy, the current NA ones on PTS will be wiped, and EU copies will be available. Nightreaver✭✭✭✭Ok, one problem I have with this.
I leveled crafting on my PTS characters to test changes to Crafting, particularly the anticipated Provisioning revamp.
Those characters were wiped and replaced with my Live versions. That's fine (at least for me) since my Live character is maxed on all Crafting skills.
My concern is when these characters are wiped I will have lost all Crafting skills along with all recipes I managed to accrue. The current templates allow for the creation of VR14 characters with skill points so those would be easy to replicate but they don't include skills in Crafting so I would be left with no way to test Crafting. There would be no point in trying to level Crafting since any advancement would just be wiped with the next update.
Sooooo, any chance for templates to include max Crafting levels?If they ever create a Legendary recipe it better contain bacon as one of the ingredients. I'm just sayin'.2 -

When I first saw this post, I was exited to go on the PTS and run around with a V14 version of my favorite character. But to my dismay, he is only lvl 47 just like on the NA server. So if I want to run the new content, I still have to create a character. This is a one-way transfer, right? If I delete a toon on the PTS, it's not going to delete him or her over on the real one (NA)?Been there, got the Molag Bal polymorph.1 -

I think it's a done deal. I would have preferred getting the option to pull a character or two over. But perhaps it was easier for them to just pull them all instead of customizing.Been there, got the Molag Bal polymorph.0 -

In the future hopefully they can merge the NA and EU server character copies on the test server so the copies of one or the other won't keep the other from testing with their live character copies. One suggestion, perhaps you could just copy the highest level character (or two) from each account on each mega server to get all of them over at one time?

✭✭Very sad that EU people get no character transfer and since I guess what your limitations are, it doesn't seem likely we'll have the charcater copy available soon.
Do you guys plan to make improvements to the base templates so we can build a character similar to live server, by which I maean bags with tempering materials, giving all traits and max crafting to test characters, allowing one merchants to sell some of the FOTM armor sets such as warlock, healer set from arena, soulshine etc etc?
If we had all of the above, character copy wouldn't be necessary for us to test in optimal conditions.

In order to transfer the NA characters to PTS, we did wipe all of the characters that were already there. im personally not really bothered,
but i do think is bang out of order offering US this service and not EU, I dnt think anyone should have this service until everyone can use it, its just not fair, you cant give one and not the other.
