It is annoying and if this is how zen intends to going , the current customers will only get worse and worse treatment.
The fact is , we are locked outside content that is only for new players. This time it is a dog , god knows what it will be next time.
If anything , zen is making it clear that being a loyal customer is a stupid call in ESO.
Well it's sure as heck making the decision easier, that's a fact. All this over a self-inflicted problem makes me honestly sad. I want to love this game - from the oldschool thought put into it to the PvP focus of guilds, but decisions such as this really turn me off as an aware customer.

I feel regret that your company felt bullied enough by your customers to come up with this type of response. If I knew any of you in person, I would take you all out for drinks (it's payday, what the Hell) and thank you for providing a game that I have so thoroughly enjoyed without any of this vanity pet nonsense.

What? The one that just shook a nice pet out of Zenimax's rather dumb customer relations division. OK.txfeinbergsub17_ESO wrote: »Nox_Aeterna wrote: »So in the end , we get a crappy version to shut us up ... nice.

I am a forum moderator for a different game company.
I consider ESO forum input to actually be relatively well structured and reasonable in comparison to the garbage I have to clean up.

I don't know, there was nothing "reasonable" about this vanity pet outrage. It was the epitome of immaturity and not understanding how the true world works. All I see are a bunch of millennials who always got there trophies even when they came in last place.

People are expressing their displeasure over a marketing decision, and their desire to have access to an in-game good under the premise that they were promised to have full access to all content with their subscription fee.
They are doing so with thought out arguments that express how they feel.
I've had to clean up disgruntled customers posting 20+ threads of spam with pictures of a tranny shoving his/her finger into his/her rear end.
And that's just the tip of an iceberg.

I couldn't agree more. It's quite shameful some of the displays that have been put on in this thread. I just hope that many of them are not adults. I can understand children being upset of petty things, but this outrage is downright embarrassing.

That's right. If Zenimax thinks that only catering to new players is acceptable, they'll only continue to do things like this. It's never just one thing that pushes people over the edge, but this was the final straw for some people.ianangelospreub18_ESO wrote: »When did people become complacent. What would it take for you to stand up for yourself? Does it have to reach a point where the subscription fee is doubled? or would you even be ok with that. Not just what would it take for you to quit the game but what would it take for you to love the game enough to actually fight to make it better and be treated fairly? Do not act like you deserve nothing. This issue may not be important to you, but how long will it be before another issues comes up that is?

I am 67 and was quite active in getting them to give us access to the dog.
If you can't understand why, and just have some self serving agenda as an "adult", then my scorn will go right past you.

So those of us who already have the imperial edition have NO chance of getting the new imperial edition pet?
What kind of crap is this?

I have no problem with them offering limited edition goodies for new subs, every game I know of does this. if they offer the goodies for sale separate from the game pack then its even better. heck, i bought the imp edition mainly for the horse and pets that no one else can get. so why would begrudge others for their goodies

offering or earned in game?
Your game could seriously use something like earned pets and mounts. I'm getting tired of everything going up on the store or used for promotions

I agree. However, I don't want to overanalyze Gina's use of the word "offering..." maybe it'll be sold for in-game gold? Maybe it'll be put on the cash shop but still given as a reward to Imperial Edition players? Maybe it will only be put on the cash shop for anybody. On principle, I'm fine with this - I just want to have the option. Though of course I'd love to have it simply mailed to me
How fun would it be, for example, to find random events in the world where you feed a dog and then he starts to follow you and become your "pet" it would make you feel a lot more attached then just shelling out 10 or 15 bucks. Opportunities like this are lost when all the cosmetics go to the end game store and is usually justified in free to play or buy to play.
This is pay to play they should be thinking of fun ways to keep people interested in the game for a long time not how much, yet another, pet should be put in the store.
