Thank you for posting something to alert all these upset players that the grey wolfhound was not the last pet that was ever going to be introduced into this game (especially of the same variety). Though now players will get the impression that their whining is what brought it and responsive in nature as we all are, will whine louder next time when there is something they want.
This reiterates a point I made earlier though that this was in fact a BRILLIANT move by the marketing reps for ZOS. Think of how much extra revenue they are going to make now by people buying the Riften wolfhound...and people think this company doesn't know what they are doing. Tactical mastery I say

See, a mature person doesn't get upset when they discover that other people may have a small item that they don't. A complacent person doesn't get upset when there is an actual injustice in the world.
Let me use some examples:
Maturity- Not getting upset over a virtual dog that you'll forget about in a week. Getting upset because a passenger plane was just shot down, killing almost 300 people.
Immaturity- Taking a company's offer to new players as a personal insult.
Could you also explain how a smug person acts?
By writing one-liner ad hominem attacks that don't even begin to address the issue?
Oh damn, now I've fallen in to the same trap...
Well, I bought the Palomino horse because I don't like the one that came with the Imperial Edition.Nox_Aeterna wrote: »So in the end , we get a crappy version to shut us up ... nice.

I suppose a brown replacement horse and a brown replacement dog are fitting partners.

It's crappy because it's brown? What do you have against brown dogs?Nox_Aeterna wrote: »So in the end , we get a crappy version to shut us up ... nice.

How about making Riften Wolfhound black? Brown seems... ordinary and only like a bone thrown to get silence forum. Will Steambuyers be able to get hold of the riften version? That was clearly a severe marketing mistake. The scuttler pet would have done nicely for steam users too.

Their Steam account is forcefully tied to an ESO account so they have access to the Digital Store just like normal users. But if they have the grey one why would they buy the brown one?
People who didnt get the grey one because they bought standard or didn't buy Imperial on time will probably want a dog as well. In that sense it isn't a marketing mistake when you clearly want as much cash flowing as possible.

Again we get shafted! A brown one? I want a greywolf color one! (or a wolf). I currently seriously leaving ESO for WOW... those with active subscriptions since launch and have imperial/collector edition should get what STEAM is getting. I not buying another package and I dislike STEAM altogether. ZOS please understand our concerns.
My current issue is with the fact that every promotional item thus far is obtainable to new steam accounts with a little searching, while current players are shafted out of a full experience.

I, for one, am happy we got the dog. I consider this a relative victory.

It is annoying and if this is how zen intends to going , the current customers will only get worse and worse treatment.
The fact is , we are locked outside content that is only for new players. This time it is a dog , god knows what it will be next time.
If anything , zen is making it clear that being a loyal customer is a stupid call in ESO.

I feel regret that your company felt bullied enough by your customers to come up with this type of response. If I knew any of you in person, I would take you all out for drinks (it's payday, what the Hell) and thank you for providing a game that I have so thoroughly enjoyed without any of this vanity pet nonsense.
"The Customer is always right" is wrong
