Provisioning Revamp

What I think would be nice is fewer recipes and more at the same time. What I mean is there are a bunch of recipes and many give the sane benefits. I know why, it was to give alliances their own dish and utilize more ingredients. But it makes the writs tougher because most people find all of the same recipes over and over. So it would be nice to eliminate some.

What I mean by more recipes is that green recipes would either be a "dish" (food), "beverage" (drink), or dessert (also food). Green recipes are a single item out of those 3. Blue recipes are a meal which include combining a green dish and a green beverage to make a blue meal. A blue meal would combine with a green dessert to make a purple feast. Or dessert could also be blue by combining certain other recipes such as, for example Fried apples (apples+seasoning) + Eidar Cheese Filling (cheese+bananas)= Drauginas' Candy Apple Cheesecake (in honor of the prisoner of jathsogur recently being fixed).

It could be along those lines because I like the idea of combining recipes for higher tiers as opposed to adding ingredients.

You know what else would be sweet? For all writs, besides alchemy, to add an"optional" creation for increased gold and increased chance for high tier rewards. For example, submit 2 green recipes for the wit, but add an optional blue for 200 extra gold and a higher chance to get a purple recipe or bervez juice/frost mirriam.

I'm expecting to hear from the development team, literally, any second now. If they don't hire me on the spot I'll just take my business elsewhere. And that would be a tragedy.

I reckon we should be a 'deconstruct' food & drinks to learn the recipe - like any good chef in real life can - if we find a dish and we have each item in our inventory (or bank) required to make it. Because sometimes it's almost impossible to find the recipes needed for a Writ but it's possible to find the Dish already made.

Not being able to find a recipe is precisely the reason I gave up on doing the Provisioning Writs. I was able to complete the first one within a few days but then I was asked for Mammoth Snout Pie, and here it is several weeks later, and I've still not found it.

Also, I found my first blue recipe a couple of days ago, although I've had my Provisioning Skills maxed out for ages.

I can help you out with provisioning if you're still interested in trying it out. It's not as bad to find recipes, as it seems in the beginning . What alliance and server are you on? I'm in EP on NA server. If you're interested in the help PM your GT.

I'm using PS4 on Euro Server.

I've not used a Guild Trader. I don't know how. If someone could point me in the direction of a good Tutorial I'd be most grateful. All I know is that you have to bid on items, but how do you know what to bid on - and how do I sell items? If I want to sell something does it have to be bid on too, or can I just list it like in a Shop with the Guild Trader?

I'm sending you some PMs with info so I'm not going too off topic for this thread. Don't want to get in trouble lol.

I also agree with deconstructing a recipe, or something similar to that. I had another idea. Garnishes. You can garnish anything with certain ingredients for a small added bonus. You could just add an asterisk to the final creation to show that it is garnished to reduce programming time.

I'd like having food and drink buffs at the same time. Maybe combo meal recipes that give you the regen and the max, but like blue and purple recipes, each are a slightly reduced value.

I am glad this is here.By reading all your comments I have learned a lot about provisioning. So far,I have just found recipes by accident, not hunting for them. And,gathering the mats to make food and selling most of it.I hadnt realized the intricacy of it all.Now I;m beginning to see.
    Thanks everyone. :}

Could you please provide a link or reference to where they said this? This is the first I've heard of it, and I haven't been able to confirm this anywhere.

    Yeah:
    Added new recipes for Provisioning.
These will produce Veteran Rank 15 foods and drinks, and can be found anywhere recipes would normally be found, including the Imperial City.

Purple Recepies ain't my problem. Frost Miriam is . Yeah I know do the writs problem with that is getting the low level reveries needed . From my hireling had 1 frost Miriam delivery in 3 weeks another way to source these and bervez juice would be great . Apologies if it's been mentioned already but didn't have time to read all the thread yet . Not looking for handouts just something a little less luck dependant . Hell I'd use my a.p for em if it came to it

That doesn't say that they are making food and drink buffs stack, just that there are going to be new VR15 recipes for each. The comment I was questioning was implying that they are actually making the buffs stack finally.

I agree. Having to depend on a Hireling for these two ingredients is awful. Every day it's a hit-and-miss.

I've given up the Writs because of the 6 or 7 I've accepted (and dumped) I've only ever had the very first recipe. Seems like a waste of time to me.

I really hope you are right. The only place I've ever seen it mentioned (by the devs at least) was in the OP of this thread, and unfortunately, they ended up throwing out the idea and not implementing it when they actually did the revamp. I haven't seen it talked about since.

It was the best part of the whole proposed revamp, and they canned it. Sad.

Just to be 100% certain, I tested food and drink stacking on the PTS (2.1).
Results: Nope, they do *not* stack, they overwrite each other.
As far as I am aware, this is working as intended.

Food and drink stacking was talked about last year, prior to the provisioning revamp that came with 1.6.
At the time, the devs decided not to allow stacking, and instead, buffed both categories.

    Hope this helps,

Damn it! It's not until late in the game that you can find, make or buy recipes or food/drink that allows you to buff 2, or more, stats. By allowing Food AND Drink to stack it means you're able to stay alive longer. So by not allowing stacking you're condemning hundreds of people to death.

There are blue/purple recipes as low as level 10.
