Nah , quite happy i saved their money.
If this game at some point become something worth recomending , i will tell them ,but that is one big IF.

You seem to have missed the point.
But coming from someone who essentially just told all of us that all of our statements are opinions but your opinion is irrefutable fact to be disseminated among the masses, I'm not surprised at all.
Nope , you are the one that told me my opinion is "wrong":Nox_Aeterna wrote: »It is a matter of opinion really.

Which is ofc stupid , since it cant be , you can just disagree with it.
Like i said , i dont think this game is worth much , if you do , then recomend to your friends all you like , but you can bet i wont to mine :P.
Nice try, but mistaken. Nowhere do I say your opinion is wrong. What I suggest, is that you're a hypocrite, which is true, based on your own statements; and that you didn't allow your friends to decide for themselves, which potentially lessened the number of people we could be playing with, which is also true.
Would you like to try again?
Wrong again , since i have no means to directly stop my friends from buying the game.
I certanly dont not point a gun to their head at all times to stop them from buying this game.
They asked my opinion , i gave it to them:
Not worth their money.
Can they ignore me and buy the game anyway? Sure they can , but it is unlikely :P.
I just shared with my friends and in turn yes , costed the game 4 sales , which is nothing to a game like this.
I dont know about you , but my friends and i share what games we thought are good/bad/great and so on. We buy games based on this. We dont just tell each other nothing and wait the others to go play games we thought were bad. That is plain silly.
It's perfectly fine to share your opinion like that. What irritates me is when people make negative reviews about this game and go out of their way to slander the game, while most of their points aren't even valid.
Just like 95% reviews of ESO before launch? Seamed like no journalist had a first clue about any other MMO then WoW.
Imagine journalist using a successful mmo and model for comparison. Oh noes.
You mean the same people who called WoW a big joke and fail because it was not EQ?
There of different types of MMOs. Get used to it. Without any new MMO like EVE for example, who going their own way.....we only get 1 type. I like to have several to choose from.
yea but they were right, they just underestimated the playerbase's desire to have everything handed to them.
Well, if a given model has demonstrated a propensity to generate more revenue, why on earth would a company shun it?
Maybe because of what Matt said about ESO 5 year plan, the play style and VISION.
Of course they want to make cash, but the world still have creative people, even who are rich, got resources and bold enough to try something new and different.
Without them, we all still would think the world was flat.
I don't really feel like rich people are predisposed to invention or creativity any more than us plebeians.

I wrote it wrong. Corrected it now.
My point was: Anyone, wherever they are from, money or not, green or blue culture/values, the world STILL have creative, bold, innovative people who goes ahead with their idea, not only driven by money. :-)
You had me at STALKER.poodlemasterb16_ESO wrote: »A useful thread. The various views well represented and not too much 'yo mama' stuff.
This is my first MMO and I have been playing games since Doom. I have some 70+ Steam games and some opinions about gaming in general and this one specifically. I would not have ever played an MMO if TES had not made one. None of the others, with the possible exception of EVE, have any attraction at all to me.
My favorite game, and this is now changing because of ESO, is Stalker. It's my favorite because it's not a hero game. The modern western shooters are designed to make you feel heroic, which I find laughable. Stalker is designed to humiliate you. Many people rage quit at the beginning when scuzzy bandits just hand you your ass on the first mission.
<snip>
I have the entire game in play as I had no idea what I was doing. I have 4 fighters, who knows what the difference is ... well I do now. My 2 completely different sorcs kinda rule. My DK is a lot of fun and is staring to rock. My NB is a joy, my son fights one very well and I'm learning burst assassination from him. My only Templars are crafters but I have one I could take through the game. I kill things, healing is new.
Much more of ESO and it will be my favorite game. I am a bit worried about the general nerf to difficulty but apart from that I'm very pleased.

Tbh ESO has the potential to be the mmo I've always dreamed of. I've always wanted an mmo with great graphics, realistic gameplay, and dark gloomy weather and cities. As long as they keep adding content, it eventually WILL be the mmo I've always dreamed of. Just my opinion.

It could use to be more gloomy imo.
Far too pleasant and bright atm.

I have always been sick of in every mmo, like WoW( in most places ), gw2, and tera ect all have sunny happy places and barely any rain.

EQ was frustratingly bright a lot of times, but it had some truly dark areas that were fun to kill in.
I just want the game to be foggy, rainy (or snowy) and dark. Maybe the occasional sunlight for a moment of awe.
The serious tone of the game sort of necessitates it.
Yep, gloomy and muted fits best for series like TES and Fallout.

One man's trash is another man's treasure.
Um, shorty, I thought you told me you like ESO?
You making me confused again! Where am I!?
I have absolutely loved this game so far it has given me countless hours after work and at weekends, I can tell you that I have never played mmorpg games before or any games like that I have always been a console gamer Battlefield series mainly but loved Skyrim on my PS3 even worse was that I have never played a game on PC shame on me I know, and yes it was an absolute mare using keyboard and mouse for the first time but I picked it up fairly quickly in the last 3 weeks and I am lvl 26 in the game now.
I was not ready for the dungeon style game play where you team up and everyone has a role healer, dps, and tank in fact when I seen the dungeon for the first time I tried to solo and we all know what happens, so I did a bit of research online about why people where calling me a crap Tank and realised the roles and why there was all these class set-ups for different roles etc as I said I was clueless thinking oh yes it's just Skyrim online which it still is in many ways but has lots of different elements like PVP which I am looking forward to in a few months when I get past lvl 50yes I tried to go there lvl 10 and got a laugh here's why.
@ all, anyway I soon realised it wasn't for lvl10 and set about changing the way I play and create my character and have enjoyed this game like no otherI have ever played.
I have enjoyed reading every book I come across and learning about all the different races factions etc, I have enjoyed spending a whole day collecting provisions and making weapons, I have enjoyed the whole new learning curve of PC gaming and learning a totally alien genre to me, teaming up last night for quests and dungeons now that I can tank properly and know what it is lol, so to finish this post and hope I have not bored you with this post and apologies if I have but I have seen a lot of negative stuff about this game and had to share my appreciation and my opinion that from my experiences I can't for the life of me see why and I for one will keep paying my subscription.
Big thanks to the Dev team.

You are in a constant state of confusion and love to jump to conclusions.
"One man's trash is another man's treasure." means that while some may love the game, some may not. Try to see it from both perspectives.
To say "This game is great, but not many realize it." is stating a fact that the game is great.
But in fact that is just one man's opinion. He seems to lack the understanding that some see it as flawed for a reason and are not "too damn picky".
Why one has to be insulted or judged simply because one does not like a product as much as the next person is beyond me.
The person being "too damn picky" is the person not able to read another persons views without getting upset and insulting them for that view.

Sipping a Switchback, from Victoria, so thirsty is hard right now.
The forums and the internet give the game a bad rap. In game is a nice vacation from the negativity that brews here. People often get the misconception these forums are representative of the player base's opinion but it's not. I think Obi-Wan Kenobi described the forums once in A New Hope..."You will never find a more wretched hive of scum and villainy"
claytonjhouserb14_ESO wrote: »Fun read, really. I went and popped a bag of buttery popcorn to enjoy as I see rants from FB's and ragers alike. But in all seriousness this game does lack quite the amount of content other than hacking an enemy down with my 5 skills/spells.
IMO (yes it is an opinion so hush before you rage out a comment please) the game doesn't have much other than kill this/that quest which was promised not to be. Delves are constantly reused over and over and over with the only thing changing is the mobs.
Housing should have been implemented with release if it is to keep up with today's standards and dueling which is a mmo 101. I'm rank 7 and it is just a griiiinnnnnd like no other I reached lvl 90 in WoW where it always felt refreshed imo.
I unsubbed and I am now waiting out to see what calls are made and what fixes they will bring and hopefully they can get this game back on rails.
On top of that when a game gets bad hype it is usually for a reason and not just some raging critic whose wife isn't home to beat, but you still seem to be missing there is good hype it is just severly out weighed by the bad hype unfortunely for Zos. This game was rushed out the door sadly a year early is not more for players shouldn't have these issues. IDC if other games had these issues doesnt meant they couldnt have set a better standard.
You say well it is new this is expected, but.....why? Why does it have to be? They could have set a new higher standard where players do not need to wait for game-breaking bugs but be able to play and enjoy from day 1.
They set themselves up to fail by releasing too early and leaving out what is todays mmo key features.
