Quite so, people do enjoy all of that and of course the kit will come up for sale...

The so-called trials sets (currently epic quality drops) found as loot on the final trials bosses, and in the weekly Undaunted coffers, is bound on pick-up, so it will not come up for sale.

Not those of us who only have access to crafted gear.

Funny thing about that is you actually do. You just have to play the game to get it.
    I can't play to other people's schedules.

The only issue being it's a Heavy Armour set so I only want the pendant and rings as a Light Armour wearer... which makes it a bit more interesting!!

But you are right it's very easy to pick up.

Or a guild store, with, like, two of those sets.

This is interesting. You can mix and match all kinds of armor to get the best set for your build. No more 5 and 3 sets. I can now have 5 and two 2 sets with a lot bonus and I can enchant my gear to have different types of jewelery buffs. This is nice a good thing not for just a set few people but for a lot of people. They probably change some skills so that it can be more balance. This definitely makes crafting set much better. Never did like the bonuses for the crafting sets that much.

Well....if you got the accessories, and went 5 light 2 heavy, you could get 2 different 5 set bonuses.

TBH I dont read all this 11 pages. Previously I saw a few screens with new sets, but now I see much more of them and in my opinion this is a good changes. All armor and weapon more balancedthan it was. Especially glad to see reduction of ultimate cost now 5 set. That was cheating with only 3 set items. And thx for screens.

so now the warlock and lich are exactly the same? wasnt the only difference between them before that the bonuses were the same but for different piece sets?

looks like lich was changed to X magicka regeneration for Y seconds instead, i guess to make use of the new soft caps.

I am for all of these changes. If only because it makes things more interesting. I like theorycrafting gear and figuring out what works the best for what. There is a lot more interesting combinations now. I can think of at least 6 unique set combinations that I'd like to try with my Templar.

That said, I do sympathize with those in full legendary gear or those that have built multiple top-tier gear sets or spent hundreds of gold on their gear. I think that finding someone that at least partially compensate them would make this update better received.

While it's unfortunate that not everyone has the social skills necessary to be a team player

Thats just rude. Just because some people dont find that type of pve content fun doesnt mean they dont have social skills to be a team player.

In your opinion, perhaps. Some of us enjoy them, and pvp, and basically everything in an MMO ;).

In my opinion, for certain. I enjoy pvp, thats the only reason im still playing eso, I find it fun. But trials is far from fun, in my opinion. Its ok that you can get nice item sets in trials, I just wish they would provide an alternative option to getting them.

Couldn't have said it better. As a player who won't remotely be negatively effected by this change (because I have no Legendary gear, or any VR12's) I still would like to see a way to compensate, even if only in part, those players who spent literally hundreds of thousands to get a full set to Legendary that are having the sets they use changed to the point they will have to make different sets (or get different drops) come 1.3.

I just noticed that all the 2 (is that even necessary..?), 3, and 4-item set bonuses are near useless -- they're nothing you can't get through enchants, nothing special (read: worth it). Not only that, but they're insignificant (VR12 Magnus gives 78 max magicka, +10 magicka recovery, +7 spell damage? That's it?) I don't see how this makes for more interesting builds. It's just more of the same -- more mag/health/stam or recovery, higher armor rating, (smaller) critical chance... no real "set" bonuses. Just the same crap you can get by making enchantments, only a little more of it.

I don't see the potential for set combinations. This prevents people from using 2 "real" set bonuses at once, since we're limited to only 8-9 crafted items. (Right now, I have three -- Magnus, Warlock, AND Willow's set bonuses over 11 pieces of gear.) Does this mean that jewelcrafting will never be implemented? Or, let me guess, when that is the case (giving people access to 11-12 crafted pieces of gear), sets will be changed all over again?

What brilliant genius(es) came up with this idea?

I noticed PvP sets will be changed from the current 2-3-5 pieces bonuses to 2-3-4-5 pieces bonuses for armor and 2-3 pieces bonuses for weapons. Dumb question: will update 3 change the armor I currently own (my main has 7 pieces Pact's Armor, 3 pieces Pact's Rings/Necklace and 2 Pact's Weapons) or will I have to re-acquire them to get these new bonuses? I really hope it's the former, but just to be sure...
I'm a man of few words. Any questions?

I don't see any pictures of the "Deadly Strike" set which I was planning to buy... it is the 3 piece jewelry set that has 10% weapon critical... Does it still exist on the PTR? I don't want to waste gold buying them if they are being changed/removed.

So I don't believe it was changed. OP needs to update front post with all the user submitted images, there is a lot missing from the OP that you can find if you search through all the posts.

As somebody who uses 5 piece Twilight's Embrace, 3 piece Seducer and 3 piece Warlock sets, I am pretty unhappy with these changes. Looks like it's a good thing I didn't upgrade any of my armor pieces to legendary because I'm going to have to scrap them all.

I'd like to read/hear the rationale for changing the Twilight's Embrace and Seducer sets so drastically.

I'm with you 100%. I use this exact same combo and was just thinking about crafting a new VR leveled set and making it legendary, but now, no way.

Going to lose the nice 3 piece warlock bonus, grumble, and 5% critical.

Other then that though i AM glad they are adding in far more abilities/combinations to all the sets. Of course there should be a few more spell crit sets in there, wtfbbqZOS? :(

You can pick up 4% critical and a bit more magicka with Soulshine accessories. Odd as it sounds. Thinking about trying 5 seducer, 5 soulshine for a 5 light 2 heavy plus accessories.

The game has moved from "crafting can provide best-in-slot gear" to "crafting produces good gear, but all the best-in-slot stuff is in endgame PvE raids."

That's typical, and it shouldn't surprise anyone. All MMO's seem to do this almost instinctively, like the swallows returning to Capistrano. If you hoped this one would be different, the joke's on you. Again.

While it's unfortunate that not everyone has the social skills necessary to be a team player, I'm happy to see that some of the more prestigious and powerful gear sets are reserved for those willing to commit to this format

You think that people who don't raid suffer from poor social skills? Really, that's the first explanation that comes to you? Your ability to kill internet dragons demonstrates you have superior social skills?

I don't think I can express my reaction without attracting some unwelcome attention from moderators, so you can carry right on with that thought, cupcake ;)

Agreed. While there are a few set bonuses that are really nice. The trial sets are still better.

ZOS should eat their words with a rotten worm. Crafted sets cant beat the trial sets, wich is stupid. It takes FAR more work to get 8th trait sets crafted then it does to do trials (so ive heard) I dont do trials based on personal interrest. I do craft a fair bit tho.

    @robertlive2014
Thank you for that generalization of my personality ...

For your information, I own my business and work with clients all day. When I get home, I play a couple of hours a night on and off. My wife has stage 4 cancer and is mostly bedridden, so I have to stop playing and take care of her whenever she needs something. Most raid groups would not appreciate me having to afk 2 or 3 times a night.

Even if my wife was not ill, I would have reservations about raiding again in a MMO. Contrary to your ascertion, my experience in WoW does not make me believe most raiders have an over-abundance of social skills. Most raiders (at least in WoW) were "lewt dudes" more interested in their epeen than in being social. I have no desire to be forced to raid 3-4 hours a night, 3-4 nights a week, to stay in the main raid group. Raiding felt like a second job.

I see no reason why ZOS should cater to that small subset of players, giving them the best of everything. If you want a "raid or die" MMO ... WoW is already making that game.

Agreed...I have 8 trait on 1 medium, 1 heavy piece, and a small assortment of weapons. Working 3 more 8 trait heavy, 2 light and 1 medium, but still have close to a month on those research.

So around 3 months of research for each item, max of 3 items at a time per armor type. So around 6 months before you can make a 5 set on one character. Granted, you can make multiple characters to spread out the research.

Either way, week of trials vs 6 months research.

I would like to see 8 trait crafters be able to craft world drop sets. Not the trial stuff, just the stuff that drops off mobs in normal VR zones. It is silly that some of those sets are locked to a set level, so if you want the bonus you have to gimp yourself by wearing lower level items. Not to mention some people do not like the look of certain racial sets.
