Duels? Yes or no?

    Hi guys, Team Templar here.

Now, dueling. I would like to say yes. And here is why:

    1. Dueling is strictly a PvP activity, and it should be completely optional. This point alone makes almost any argument made by non PvP players invalid. You simply don't have to get involved as it does not effect you.

    2. Lore: Since when in an Elder Scrolls game could you not challenge and kill someone you just met on the street? Dueling could add so much to the player made game lore and to any RP players.

    3. Class balance: I don't think that dueling will make classes look really unbalanced. Why do I say this? I say this because I run the largest dueling guild in this game. And I can promise you that the best players are not the best because of the class they chose. All classes can perform wonderfully in a 1 vs. 1 fight. If anything dueling helps people learn how to play their class against all other classes. People learn that EVERYTHING has a weakness, no matter how good a build you make. If anything dueling shows how much more balanced classes are then people would like to think.

    4. Champions of the battlefield: Dueling is the best way to learn how to PvP. Period. The best players in this game can all still benefit from duels, and can still learn more.

I really hope that ZOS will add dueling to this game soon. I would much prefer it to arenas. My guild has over 400 members in it, and we haven't recruited for a long time. People message members and join everyday because they want this.

A parting fact: In a tournament that we had recently hosted in our guild the leader board follows as such:

    1st: Sorcerer
    2nd: Templar
    3rd: Dragonknight

The tournament favorite was actually a Nightblade that consistently won on the dueling training grounds against all classes (<95% win rate, one of the highest in the guild and a testament to his skill). He unfortunately was knocked out in the finals. Every fight was close in the final rounds, and they could have gone any way.

I believe small scale and dueling will come when the justice system arrives. If you decide to steal - Players can collect your bounty.
