I plan on sticking around for a long long time and hope ESO never goes FTP(also choose this option if you just plan on staying around a long time and don't care if it goes FTP but you don't mind paying)
I'm definitely going to steal Jexie's post and quote it for truth. This is basically my opinion.

I think I'll be in it for the long haul. I for one am very satisfied with the current content and new content is pretty regular, (and at no extra cost, which is great, no pesky expansion costs!).

Compared to other MMO's I've played, ZOS jump onto bug fixes pretty swiftly, I think most if not all of the bugs I encounted during the early levels have been fixed now.

However even though I'm content, I think alot of players expected a more 'fleshed out' game, as alot of people have come from other MMO's that have been chucking out content for years, so I guess ESO feels a little limited to them. However ESO has the potential to be absolutely fantastic, and I think, at the current rate of content release, it's well on the way to becoming so, and I'm excited for the future. ^_^

ESO is not perfect, but what MMO was at launch? Wildstar? It certainly isn't perfect. All new MMO's have problems, and if the developers are dedicated, they'll work on these problems, be they bugs, or a lack of a certain features. People scream about the lack of Player Housing, for instance, and ZOS has said in an AUA (Ask Us Anything) that they want to add this, but at the same time, they want to do it right. What that means, is that they actually have an interest in not just rushing features out for money, but rather has a focus on making quality content.

A lot of people seem highly impatient, and have unrealistic expectations to what an MMO at launch is. I am having the time of my life in ESO, and some are not experiencing the same joy, but regardless of this, an MMO grows over time. It's persistent, and new content gets added often. It is unfortunate-- highly unfortunate that the naysayers are so loud, and those that speak positively, and give constructive criticism, are not. A lot of the people that say things like, "ABANDON SHIP. GOING F2P IN 2 WEEKS" manage to portray that they are speaking for a vast majority, when they really aren't.

Lastly, I wish to include a quote from a great post I found on another ESO forum the other day.
I look at the totality of Elder Scrolls Online, its gameplay, the perceived rate of released updates, the lore and how well it lends itself to roleplay, and I see nothing but potential. Part of me is glad people who have moved on already are gone, because I would rather see this game's community develop with a small and dedicated core than see people set up pillars and then vanish.

    I already canceled
I defended this game to anyone and everyone prior to this day. Craglorn came out, had some issues with memory leak etc, so I had a break. Was a bit burnt out anyway from leveling to VR10.

Came back today. Nothing changed after 5/6 weeks.

    - Memory leak still crashing my game in dungeons and Craglorn, even blue drops in veteran dungeons are still bugged
    - Combat still dull, emphasis on AOE casters, stamina builds seem less relelvant even though thats the style i prefer.
    - Dungeons are no fun, just aoe zergfest, everyone using same abilities. Feels like Neverwinter. Which is a horrible game.
    - All people in Craglorn do is farm, hardly anyone there actually questing.

This game became like Neverwinter, a haven for min/maxers and people who just want to speed through everything, and don't even know if they are having fun doing it. Its pointless.

I'm fed up, cancelled my 3 month sub today, has 54 days left for them to do something. I don't think they will in all honesty. Would rather spend my time elsewhere.

    Im hoping this doesnt happen:

Arena will be the gateway to the most crying and raging about class imbalance this game has had. Zenimax will nerf and change classes based on player arena experiences/feedback and the game will lose its dynamics like every other mmo before it.

    Another month
I'll play for another month, then I'll move on to fresh new games. I've been only logging in to do the PvP daily quest. It's been fun, but I'll give ZOS 6 months months to patch the game and add significant new content before trying it out again.
