Not because I disliked the game (although there were a number of things that drove me nuts) but because I'm old and I was starting to have problems with my wrists and shoulders.

Looks like my days of PC gaming might be over....pretty bummed actually :(

Dude. Take your skirt off, pop some ibuprofen, use an ice pack as a wrist rest and get back in there! @Calaban‌

You could try smoking weed, too.

Or improve your work/gaming place to higher ergonomical standards, if you can afford it. The right table and chair combination alongside fitting HIDs can do wonders and help tremendously with taking away the strain on wrists and shoulders. So if possible, consult a specialist about that and I am sure you could get many more years of enjoyment out of gaming, almost pain-free.

This "new content", when coupled with forced grouping mode (every mob is 5+ groups), are mostly unplayable for casual single players, which I am. Therefore these new content is practically meaningless to me.

I really hope they focus on more standard dungeon and raid options, as well as world content for players that aren't into mashing spreadsheets to be "viable" (derp derp) in some never-ending gring fest that forces you to play a certain way or get kicked from elitist groups.

Content like that might as well not exist, since the majority of players don't enjoy that play style. I like content that is fun, dynamic, and open to different build strategies. Reading the foundry website, there is a whole sub culture of spreadsheet mashers that insist if you aren't maximizing damage through mechanic and bug exploits and face-rolling the same boring-arse spec to be "viable" at end-game content you don't belong there.

If ZOS starts catering to that minority I will definitely leave.

if i hit a point where i just dont care anymore, ill unsub obviously.... still enjoying Vet content tho.

Yesterday, I had my first MMO experience in ESO. For the first time, there was a discussion in the always empty guild chat. I was sitting somewhere in Shadowfen and I wrote about my experiences in pervious MMOs and what I like in ESO so far.

For me, an MMO is not about the questing, not about the farming, not about the items. For me, an MMO is about the community. And I want to speak to random people and have fun WITH them. And in my opinion, Zenimax failed hard on this. The phasing system prevents me from playing with friends, most of them already gave up because of all the punishment regarding reskill costs, character balance, veteran difficulty, and the always repeating quest structure.
What I loved in other MMOs was accepting 15+ quests and doing them all at once. I had to think about where I go and in what order. And there were many hard bosses that required 3 or more people, so I had to ask friends to help me.
ESO has those too, but no one is required to kill them. Basically everything I do can be done alone, and most of the time it's faster because no one pulls the wrong mob groups.
The guilds are for trading only, and everyone can join 5 of them anyways, with his account name, which totally destroys the feeling of playing a lonely adventurer who joins a guild to make friends.
I in fact never got this adventurer feeling in ESO, because everywhere I go, I am the super hero who stopped the daedric invasion, saved the children, and what not, but everyone does this, so it's not special anymore. I want to be recognised by people for my accomplishments, not by some stupid NPCs who worship everyone equally.
So the whole feeling was, for me, that ESO is a single player game most of the time. I did quite a few dungeons, but there was the next problem: Language mix. I want to speak MY language when playing a game that expicitly states that it's available for my language, without getting picked at for doing so, and with other people who also speak my language. People get angry when somebody asks for an item in the zone chat he doesn't know the english name for. Very nice community.

    I really really like:
    - the graphics
    - the aiming
    - the action combat system
    - the detailed story
    - the (hypothetical) freedom in character development
    - the large world

But all these are qualities of a single player game. My personal impression of ESO so far: It's a nice single player game, good for occasional playing. But it lacks the multiplayer aspect, there is no real end content at max level, only the veteran grinding. The guilds are only there for trading, and the immersion is destroyed by the megaserver system. I want to be identified by character name, I want to be in ONE guild, I want to show my guild to others, I want to accomplish difficult things with others, and then I want my character to be known by others. And I want to do that with an easy to use, yet beautiful UI, balanced classes and freed choice HOW I reach my destination.

That's MY impression of ESO, deal with it, I won't renew my subscription which ends today. Zenimax HAS the capabilities to adjust the game, and there IS great potential. But as it is NOW, it's not what I understand by MMORPG, and the positive aspects are not reasons enough for me to stay.

I had reservations about subbing for this game, but I bit the bullet and took 6 months. I am very disappointed in the game for a variety of reasons. But with so many great MMO's out there, ESO should have done much more research on what is great about games like WOW, GW2, Rift, LOTRO....etc.... even some of the Pay to Win games offer up some nice ideas.

But the biggest thing in my opinion about ESO is it was released about 6 months to early, way to many bugs, and balancing issues. In fact bugs that persisted in the beta still exist in the game today. Beta testing only allowed a couple of zones, we should have had the game opened up to find all the issues.

ESO is a great looking game don't get me wrong, some great graphics, but they should have either gone the way of the PC or way of the Console, I don't think these hybrid games that try to do both, really do justice to the game, I think if you wanted a first person Shooter version of the game with limited spells or abilities then you should have gone one way. I find the game depends a lot on my twitch reflex's at times which for me as a "older" player makes it very difficult trying to avoid damage.

    Just my 2 cents

I couldn't answer the poll. My sub is up tomorrow. The game is down for maintenance now. I will read the patch notes and I will either cancel or let it renew.

I want to know how they are going to deal with Craglorn, VR ranks, class balance (I prefer buffs to weaker classes than nerfs to stronger ones), making the game fun for a broader segment of players, what role Cyrodiil will play in endgame, whether ZoS is just going to keep adding VR levels (I hope not, because they suck and are not fun at all), the future of forced grouping, etc. And get rid of Cadwell's Almanac, or make it optional. I hate the VR 7+ zones.

It's not likely that ZoS will address those issues in tonight's patch notes. So it's likely that I will unsub. I will consider coming back, but it depends on what happens to this game in the next 6 months or so.

    What I like about ESO:

I want to say the art is amazing. Thank you for creating it!

The 1-50 experience was pretty damn fun (in spite of the bugs).

The fun I had in Cyrodiil with my guild (70% have stopped playing).

I want to see more effort put into Cyrodiil and AvA. Maybe some dynamic events? Create more things that will drive AvA!

Pretty much lost interest and only check patch notes/forums every week or so to see how things have changed.

Well, we are two months in and I have completed probably 70% of the solo content. I have 2 months left already bought and paid for... I should easily be able to finish it all off in that time.

They don't seem to have anything on the 'Road Ahead' that pertains to solo content, just VR stuff. This means I probably won't resubscribe after that.

If I had more character slots, or if there was something more to do once you hit lvl 50 that doesn't just require you to replay all the old content again, then maybe I would stick around a bit longer.

I play the game to experience the world content. Being forced to group completely takes away from that experience. No group is going to sit around and wait for me while I read all the books and notes pertaining to the current quest.

Probably just a simple issue of a stamina build. I know that is my problem. Melee stamina heavy armor=no win against 3+ vets. I understand now that dress and staff is best, but at VR4, I couldn't be bothered to level light armor from lvl 3 and work on a magic build, a complete turn around from my current style. It's easier to learn how to play by just rerolling something else and doing dress/staff on them to learn the play style. Otherwise I will die, a lot. Every class has a magic based build to combat 3 VR mobs. It isn't just us players that are the issue and you can't really blame someone who is a stamina build that had no problems from 1-VR3 being a stamina build for not being able to beat VR mobs anymore. It's the basic problem of Stamina builds hitting a brick wall of uselessness and it being hard to come back with a magic build after playing the entire time with a once viable dual wield or 1h/s stamina build. It isn't the player's fault for never using magic. It's an ignorance issue. We figured the game would be balanced so that stam and magic builds would be viable. We were wrong. Difficulty lvl would be an interesting option though, I think a "Become a magic based build" button would be even more helpful though. lvling up light armor from 1-5 to 50 and using magic abilities still at lvl 1 when you are at VR4 isn't really a useful option for me at this point.[/quote]

I have a stam build and I can solo VR content. I play a 2h Sorc. I dont use many of the magik abilities...only crit surge and bound armorments. Sometimes volcanic rune.

I started an alt recently...a destro templar and there is a huge disparity in the way I am able to burn through mobs. I understand VR4 and up is the litmus test, but I can absolutely tell my unconventional magik build is stronger than my also unconventional stam build by a large margin.

So if you are chasing a stam build dont give up hope...you may just need to add some utility skills to your bars to either boost your damage or your mitigation. For non sorc/dk I recommend boneshield as it wont deplete your stam pool like the heavy armor active.

    Happy hunting

Maybe a couple of months. ESO was the first game to get me to cancel my WoW billing, which I played from day 1. While I love ESO, there's just too many things that are starting to keep me from logging in anymore. Bugs, major class imbalances (especially in PvP), and it's topped off with some of the worst customer service and player notification I've seen.

I tend to be a one game guy since real life takes up enough of my time that I don't have the time available to keep up with two different perpetually changing game worlds. I don't feel like ZO cares if I continue to subscribe or not.

I paid for 6 months also, I don't think the game is as broken as people make it out to be. This is a solid launch when compared to SWG imho.
Not to mention the staff is much more engaged with the community via these forums and other means to make improvements to the game. Since I'm using it as an example there was not nearly this level of involvement on the forums etc. from Sony throughout the years I played that game...

I think I'll be in it for the long haul. I for one am very satisfied with the current content and new content is pretty regular, (and at no extra cost, which is great, no pesky expansion costs!).

Compared to other MMO's I've played, ZOS jump onto bug fixes pretty swiftly, I think most if not all of the bugs I encounted during the early levels have been fixed now.

However even though I'm content, I think alot of players expected a more 'fleshed out' game, as alot of people have come from other MMO's that have been chucking out content for years, so I guess ESO feels a little limited to them. However ESO has the potential to be absolutely fantastic, and I think, at the current rate of content release, it's well on the way to becoming so, and I'm excited for the future. ^_^

I really don't see how people are still using this as a valid argument. Just a few days ago, another sub based MMO launched that is leaps and bounds ahead of ESO in every single way.

The development team at ZoS looked like amateurs from beta on, and we kept giving them the benefit of the doubt. Now, they just look foolish.

I'm happy that you are able to find enjoyment while continually having to lower your expectations, but for me enough is enough.

not everyone likes disney cartoon though. And i highly would call Wildwow leaps and bounds ahead. Less buggy yes , less immersive yes , More end game apparently yes, for me i never liked Raves and this just seems like the Dev team there did to much extacy while in game design school. Add in NC soft, the players will be in for a wallet reaming they never saw coming.
The team at Zos has over 12 years of MMO game development experience. Many of the team are Veterans form DAOC , Eq 1 and 2, I believe a few of the AO, and AOC guys . I don't think it was lack of talent or experience. it was Poor execution of idea's that were poorly tested. from the get go the Testing of ESO was limited to friends and family aside form the weekend beta's no one got to play past lvl 20. and all the end game stuff was tested by a small small sample group that from all rights looks like they all favored playing casters lol. I am also very very convinced the late change to API and the neutering of add on information was to try to hide the imbalances of of magica ranged vs. melee stam until they could figure it out. By far the two major complaints on the forums and from players in chat are the phasing and the dress and stick builds.

    "A few more months..."

    What I find good:
    - Story/Lore
    - Idea of the Class/Weapon System
    - PVP

    What I dont like:
    - Imbalance (Even though I am a Sorc and therefore not affected by it I want to see more Templars/NB invited into groups.)
    - PVE Content (There is no reason to run Dungeons/Trials if you can effortlessly craft the best or almost best gear)
    - Veteran Ranks (it breaks immersion and doesn't make sense lore wise and its just grind/filler because there is no real endgame content)

I have almost 3 months of gametime left.
Based on how the tackle the problems and if/how they solve it I will continue to play this game or search for something else.

I didn't vote because none of the options really fit. My sub is up tomorrow and won't be renewed. But I'm definitely not done. I'll be back, probably right around 1.3 to check out the changes. As a VR8 Templar who didn't hop on the Craglorn grindfest bandwagon, I'm just getting tired of the quest grind in empty zones. The only thing I find enjoyable right now is Cyrodiil. But even that is really starting to suck. Seems like 3/4 of all the enemies I targeted over the weekend were VR12 and just ROFLstomping everything in their paths. So I'm done for now, but not for good.

Already cancelled, my last sub time just ran out yesterday and I haven't touched the game for over a month.

The game didn't turn out to be what I wanted, I knew this from the get go, but gave it a shot anyways.. I basically wanted Elder Scrolls with multiplayer, not a standard MMO with Elder Scrolls lore.

For me to become genuinely interested again there needs to be the following in the game:
    -Non-instanced player housing
-A working economy that doesn't force trade guilds upon us (let guilds be guilds)
-Emergent gameplay, not the themepark gameplay that I experienced, so more sandbox and PvP in almost all zones + let us build our own houses/keeps etc.
    -A crime system
-More love for the roleplayers, perhaps an instanced version of the world for roleplayers + chat bubbles.
