I totally respect Kevin's position on this, he's a Community Manager and can only post what he's been told and given clearance to post. He's not a technical guy, and therein lies the problem as this is a purely technical thread dealing with a purely technical issue.

I feel that what is needed now is for one of the technical guys dealing with this issue to be authorised to come here and post regular updates on what they've already done, what they're doing currently, what else they are considering doing, and just how critical and common their logs show this issue to be.

Otherwise things are just going to carry on the same, no information and an occasional Community Manager update that contains no real update at all.

    Good Idea

I said something along these lines 5 months ago.

The first couple years the dev team posted frequently on the forums. Some change culturally made it to the point that the interactions with ZOS has become infrequent with little information.
At least Kevin is seen around daily. For the last couple years it's seems to have been a mod only forum outside of patch notes.
There needs to be some kind of change that requires all team leads to have an active and open presence on the forums.

I don't know why people keep bringing up add-on's as a possible source of the issue, it's clearly not and seem like an attempt to muddy the thread. BOTH console platforms are having the same exact issues with lag, rubber-banding, skills misfiring, and disconnects this whole time and they don't have add-ons. Not to mention numerous PC players have the issue with or without them.

If PC and Console are run on the same hardware, even if they can't play together, then infothieving addons (like Bandits UI) can be compromising the connection.

    I don't use bandits UI.
A random guy joined my group finder and practically crashed my game.
I had to have him sort through his Addons until my game stabilized.
The one he disabled was Bandits UI.

@ZOS_Kevin how come the updates have just stopped. How many weeks/months does it take to get leadership to answer some questions? The "vibe" for many months has been that ZoS is just waiting for this thread to die down so it's not a problem you all have to address anymore. Continued lack of action and failure to really address anything 7 months in is not helping shift that narrative.

If we wanted the thread to die, we would have closed the thread months ago, so please know that we are working on this. No one wants this to go unanswered. I just had a meeting with a new set of engineers yesterday who are now taking lead on this investigation. They are reviewing data that we have gotten from you to see if they need anything else to aid their efforts. As for the questions, will circle back with the team who is taking point answering them.

We just don't have any current update outside of what we have given already. Trust me, once I have new information, this thread will be the first to know.

On what basis should I believe you? I have never met you and can only judge you by your writings. Then you can believe me, too, can't you?
I may get banned for saying this, but it's the first thing scammers say, isn't it? (trust me).

Can't you tell us the general situation, even if you can't tell us the details of the problem? Isn't the importance of this issue at the top of the list?

Can you give me a regular status report? It doesn't have to be you.

Also, what does an MMO community manager do?
I know they act as a bridge between users and developers on the Forum and SNS, but how exactly do they work? Are you home-based and remote? Or do you come to the office?

And I also want to say, why are you talking to me from above? Are you not equal to the user? Can we end the thread at any time? By your authority? Fine, both Reddit and Steam have you guys constantly monitoring and coming out to make sure you don't get a bad image. You exclude your own forum critics and pretend to be busy wasting your time on each social networking site, etc. What's in it for you? Would you please work for the benefit of the users?

    Please fix this problem.

    Trust me, once!

PC/NA game keeps crashing to desktop with the error 301 message very frequently since golden pursuits were introduced. All addons are updated, internet connection works fine. Also there has been increased lag across the board (overland, PvE trials, PvP BGs) that's consistent and not just spiking. Please ZOS we need solutions.

The game has been nigh impossible to play for 2 days now. The lag spikes are crazy, and the game keeps kicking me out of the server. I'm rubber banding all over the place constantly - ALL of this in PvE overland!

What is going on with the servers lately?!?

Honestly, no one besides Kevin will even see this ping. I doubt any of them are on the forums anymore. Leadership tends to silo themself into their respective echo-chambers.
Will the real LadyGP please stand up.

One Idea: Temporarily ban the use of Bandits UI for a month and see if anything is fixed.
There might also be others like it causing strain on the hardware due to reaching through it to grab information to display to its user. Also I feel like there should be a setting to deny others addons from doing that.
I had to have a random tank disable his Bandits addon because it was autopinging and causing a strain on my machine.
If that also fixes the consoles having issues... There must be server overlap or something, even though there's no crossplay.

    Just a thought.

If it has no effect, unban it so people don't cry bloody murder about it.

I run Bandits UI, I've totally pulled it from my addons folder and saw absolutely no difference.
I will say that I didn't have Slip's Sanity's Edge Helper running, but in my folder and was experiencing horrible issues. I removed it from my addons folder and saw improvement immediately. Addons in the addons folder load when the game starts whether they are enabled or not. If you aren't using certain addons but still have them in your folder, remove them.
My latency and frame drops seemed to have become not much of an issue anymore after removing Slip's Sanity's Edge Helper. That addon will get you kicked every 5 minutes in Sanity's Edge. I think it causes issues outside of SE also.

Addons only effect the user that uses them. The only thing I can think of would be if he had damage sharing turned on..but that still shouldn't effect anybody else.
I run Bandits UI, have removed it completely from the folder and didn't see any difference. I run vet trials with people that don't use addons at all, some people that do use them don't use Bandit's UI, others do. The people that don't use Bandit's or addons in general have not gotten issues with others running Bandit's.
