ZOS, Massive Spike in Ping/LAG in Recent Days - What Gives?

    My lag in bg situations, 250ms, when you can clearly see an opposing player unaffected by anything the others are and seamlessly cutting people down. Like they are playing locally to the sever.

    I know instantly to not cast abilities with cast times for that whole match unless I can do it from cloak.

    Like back in the day when you are in Battlefield or Call of Duty and a high ping player would join. They lag out the whole server. But it's the reverse. When a local or low ping player joins they are able to send more action per minute that get accepted then me. So my actions that go just get deleted, I get a hold from sending out of sync messages to the server and I'm this flappy half working mess.

    20% base speed for high ping players.
    Streak moves you faster then speed cap.
    They should of made 4v4v4v4 instead of 8v8.

    #Play about 3 hours about 3 times a week (8:00AM EDT~)
    #Played only in Cyrodiil, disconnected about once every 3 times and the situation was mixed.
    (Ping999+ sometimes occurs even when in town during events)
    #Average ping was and still is 180-220 with a wired connection (NA prime time is around 300)

    When is this survey due and when will the results be available? Does this survey really make sense?

    I would have liked to have a survey that anyone can participate in and a time frame for the results to be announced to everyone, like we did before with the guild improvement survey.

    eally care. If this person is competent, wouldn't he or she be able to immediately report to development and let us know if he or she can or cannot do the job? At this point in time, this problem has not been corrected.

    Answer. Will this problem be corrected?

    Perhaps this problem appears to be normal at present because the population is decreasing and the load on the servers and the network equipment that goes through them is decreasing.

    I was having big problems today, and some of the places I went (such as Vvardenfell) were packed and it was taking forever to load and had high ping. Never went below 400, while people were loading it pretty much stayed over 999+.
    All I wanted was the banker, but it decided loading in the 50+ people sitting there was more important.

    They are asking players to provide specific information is a specific order.
    It is not a 'survey' in the technical sense. I doubt that they will publish any 'results'.

    Maybe they will do a formal survey, but that would imply a commitment.



    It might help to put ZOS Kevin so he gets the information.

    Kevin indicated on 4 October that they are continuing to monitor this discussion.

    A discord I am in were commenting on their groups dc'ing all day yesterday. They ended up just calling raid because of it.

    Multiple client crashes still and disconnects. Forced to play on GFN most of the time due to crashing but disconnects still occur.

    Especially bad in Grey Host last night.

    My group of 12 was permanently 8 or 9 because we had a rotating Wheel of Fortune simply kicking the other 3-4 players.

    Constantly getting disconnected while porting to areas. Followed by beeing unable to connect to the game server.
    Game is unplayable at this point please do something about it. Getting info from guildies they have the same issue.

    • crashes every time he tries to use a portal

    PC/NA seems to be broken.

    disconnected because or teleporting to another zone, now after login and selecting character the server can not load the zone. Re-tried re-entering many times. Disconnected each time.
    This is NOT an Internet Provider problem, as the disconnects ate triggered by re-zoning or initial zone loading (otherwise them disconnects happen at random times), but, apparently this is the server software issue.
    Not a new one, unfortunately.
    My Internet connection is OK as well as other MMOs.

    @ZOS, please, fix that..

    What zones? Vvardenfell, Auridon, Hollowjack Arena, Infinite Archive, nDSR, vSE, vSS in the last few days.

    Addons? With and without

    A few different symptoms.
    1. Touch movement key, freeze for 3-5 seconds. Repeats for about a minute then ok for awhile.
    2. Touch skill fires in just over 2 seconds. This one can last for quite a while.
    3. Both together usually results in a disconnect.
    4. Several people in group affected at same time but not all. During group when coming out of freeze players and non players skip a few meters. You can see it happen. My trials are usually folks from Midwest and pacific coast as well as Australia.

    My lag in PCEU today was stupid. The input delay was at a count of 4, the barswapping intermittent and the new trick is to DC me every time I finish the Crow or the hollow jack. mMy ping was jumping from 100 to 500+ every 30 seconds or so.

    We are at about 70 pages of people including this info. There does not seem to be any sort of glaringly obvious correlation.
    One would suppose they have a few permutations few test VMs to spin up and be able to look at it pretty easily under similar configurations as people are reporting. Hopefully not all using the same ip setup.

    You also assume this is of sufficient priority to them to deal with in any sort of timely manner. I'm beginning to feel it is not.

    Just repeat your specs every time you have a problem. Replying without specs gives them nothing to go on.

    I feel there has to be a correlation between client type or OS and problems.
    My brother has windows 11 and uses eso direct launch, and he has problems.
    I use windows 10 and epic games launch and have no problems.
    He's half the distance to the modem than I am, with fewer walls between him and modem than I do.
    Yet I have no problems and he does.
    There has to be something there.

    I know console has the same issues and while you could argue that XBox is Windows, PlayStation is definitely not. I don't think this is a client side issue with the OS.

    I play on PC/NA
    I launch from the eso exe file. I use the launcher for one launch on patch days.

    I have a CONSTANT 2-3ms route to the Data Center as I live close enough to throw rocks, meatballs, sub sandwiches or anything else at the Data Center.

    I get into the game and I am constantly hit with 999+ spikes regardless of checking mail, doing daily writs or PVE questing.

    I do NOT use add-ons, never have with this game.

    I know console has the same issues and while you could argue that XBox is Windows, PlayStation is definitely not. I don't think this is a client side issue with the OS.

    Yeah, i play on Ps and this last 10 days have been unplayable for me, i can't finish vma, i can go in veteran trials, im having a massive lag .. thats really frustrating....

    i went through my graphics settings the other day and figured out part of the reason i was having lag, apparently the VSYNC option being enabled was causing an issue, though i dont believe that this was an issue prior to the U44 release

    i turned that off and i had far less stuttery gameplay
