Congrats ZOS. These are the types of players you bring to the community with B2P and a console launch.

    It is possible.
But you would buy the disease, not the actual condition.
You'd still need to go to the shrine, and use the portal there, and do the quest.

Also, it has to be hell-a expensive in crowns. like 4k crowns, at least.
It fits the convenience side of the crown store, and it will not affect anything, since most players bite for free anyway.

They arent going to weigh in, they will just moderate the thread and you will likely catch a ban. Is this your first rodeo on MMO forums? Not trying to be insulting, its an honest question.

You need to look past your own desire to bypass game mechanics. It's a slippery slope.

I mean, why would ZOS even take the time to create mechanics or content for people to play through if people will just pay them $10 to bypass it? Why not just sell it in the cash store and move on?

It's my opinion that people like you are legitimately the cause of the crappy state of the gaming industry, with all of it's paid DLC, exclusive pre-order bonuses, season passes, and all of that BS.

Creeps me out to think about skill lines being sold in crown shops (obviously not the maxed out verision but the access). That being said id expect a similar price to imperial if ever added. Certainly more than the 1500 crowns that are given if you sub.

I don't understand the logic of these long timers who want to complain about viable financial options in a game they like.

Actually, this is not a viable financial option, unless they decide to remove the ability to bite other players, which I think would really be terrible since it implies that one can GET infected, but the infection is for some reason not virulent once it infects a player (it can't be passed on).

Even if we get a constant influx of new players, the first wave of people who purchase the crown store "infections" would be able to infect the next wave, who could infect the next wave, etc. And because the game would be saturated with vampires and werewolves, the only way to give bites would be for free (which happens even without crown-store-purchased infections)...which directly conflicts with purchasing the infection from the crown store. The only way to ensure that people would buy from the crown store would be to remove the passive that allows passing the infection to another player, meaning that you could:

    A) Become infected by an NPC (which so many people find JUST IMPOSSIBLE OMG)
    B) Purchase the infection from the crown store (Woohoo! Easy!)

No. Just no. You'd have to remove a function of werewolves and vampires just to get people to buy? We don't want them to start removing things from the game so that they can add them back in the crown store. And don't start the "slippery slope" argument with me--this would set an actual precedent for them to do just that.

Remember when XP pots meant the sky was falling? hehe

    I know right.

I think these guys arguing against infections in the crown store are smart enough to know I am right.
I think their just arguing to argue.
Its fine with me as long as zos gets a chance to consider the pros and cons of infections in the crown store being a win win.

I floated the idea half expected to be talked out of infections in the crown store being a win win.

As any casual forum readers have seen, there are no real arguments against it.

    It would stop the trolls.
It would serve a portion of the players demands.
It would help to replace revenue lost by the b2 p shift.

Oh I guess infections in the crown store are a win-win-win.

    ;)

Wouldn't it be easier to ask ZOS to just increase the chance to get infected from an NPC vamp? Why is your first thought to have them let you pay $10 for it?

That's the problem with crown stores. People willingly give them ideas on what to charge money for when they could easily just tweak a game mechanic.

    No. You are wrong.

Player infections could stay and not everyone who buys a horse offers other players the right to store stuff in their horse slots.

Some people would just want to jump to the experience of infection.
Some players might want a viable option to being trolled for a bite.

Once zos implements the crown store bites, players might offer the bites among themselves but will prob still try to continue feeling special and horde it. Thus human nature ensures value.

    Nice try tho.

The entire point of the game is to charge money. Without money the game will close. For every person who would actually quit over this (I doubt anyone would) the sale would make up for them. Also they woudlnt lose all the people who get mad because they got robbed of all their gold by a bite scammer.

I bought the imperial race and really don't see the diff.
    Both change game play.
    Both change stats.
    Both drain health.
Both offer a unique style that can be shared with other players.
Both the imperial motif and vampirism are rare and valuable in game.
    Extremely similar.

No, I'm not wrong, because while not "everyone" would be biting other people, plenty of people would.

It would start out with people who purchased in the crown store trying to sell their bites to "make some gold" for the money they spent.

When more and more people are infected, more and more people try to sell, driving prices down.

Prices eventually run down to "free."

This is exactly what happens naturally without crown store purchases.

Why would this change if they add it to the crown store? Why do you think that people would choose to pay cash when they could get a bite from 10 of their guildies for free? It wouldn't change, unless players couldn't bite other players.

Just seems to me this would be a great way to make money AND stop all the griefing taking place around the spawns. Reduce the customer service calls. Not only saving them money on support but making money. Thats why I would bet within a few months this will be on the store.
