We've got an update for you. We're aiming to perform the European megaserver migration from North America to Germany next week (but not Monday). We'll keep you updated!

Will this mean the servers will be offline for an extensive time?

The European megaserver will be down for an extended period of time during the migration, yes. Before the downtime, we'll provide as close to a time estimate as we can. The North American megaserver will not be impacted.

The latency lag on EU right now is making PvP rather un-fun. I keep getting stuck in the shield charge animation. I do not expect this to go away when the servers move to Europe as i've seen it happen on the US server with US players as well. Seems to be that the servers just don't cope well with the current maximum allowed players. I am worried that the 1 30 day campaign we are getting will be like this all the time.

@ZOS_JessicaFolsom‌, I just wanted to say thank you for the update :)

Moving the megaserver won't solve all the issues (I'm looking at you, "Unknown error", and problems during very high number of players in one area) -- but it will help.

Will any time lost be refunded? (if it's more then a day)

Why should they do that? You should know there will be downtime playing an MMO.

I really don't think we should beg for a server move, then beg for refunds due to it happening.

True. The extra network lag going from the EU to NA is maybe something like 50ms, which is too small to notice compared to the server lag. So I very much doubt whether anyone will notice an obvious difference.

Finally! But excellent timing, so I can waste my time on that other game's beta undisturbed, while you make the move. Hopefully, we'll see a few people return who were waiting for a true EU server.

Woooo! I'm so happy about this. No longer will have have connection disconnects and time outs due to network latency. I believe this move will fix the majority of the problems that EU customers experience regarding "unknown error" when changing areas.

Which has been pretty much the main feedback they have had on only one 30day campaign.

enjoy your "begging" then, as a paying customer i dont see any reason to "beg" for the assured server hosted in europe.

    Had a bad day, @Cogo? :)

We know ZOS still has problems with server lag, so what you're trying to imply doesn't make that much sense, really.

Server lag? You mean 200 players battling in Cyro right now......without any lag to speak of?

No, my latency to Frankfurt atm is 15ms. Latency to Texas is 180 ms, that is a lot more than 50 ms. And 180 is on a good day. Bad days can be up to 400 ms.

Well, depending on wher you are at it should drop to 10-40 ms =D. Instead of 150-400.

Hopefully it'll fix the timeout disconnects I'm experiencing when I connect through the hotspot at work. Yep, it's totally happening on my side only, but lowering the ping a couple hundred of ms and staying on the telekom network should bring a very noticeable effect, methinks.

All in all, it should provide a more fluid feel to almost everything. Until we hit server lag, of course, though that should have been taken care of in many instances. We'll see.

If you have Laggs in very big fights in Cyrodiil, they will probably stay, if almost every player on the map fights there...

Why are you bothering, after all back in March Matt posted:

    http://www.elderscrollsonline.com/en-us/news/post/2014/03/14/eso-road-ahead
Our testing has now confirmed that millions of players from Europe (and beyond) can play on our North American server and experience ESO as it was designed—without latency or lag problems.
    So what's the point?

The 'lag' EU players have been reporting clearly isn't the servers' problems, it's their ISPs', your testing proved it. :p

I concur with your testing, I play from the UK with no 'lag' that can be noticed.
