Will this mean the servers will be offline for an extensive time?

The European megaserver will be down for an extended period of time during the migration, yes. Before the downtime, we'll provide as close to a time estimate as we can. The North American megaserver will not be impacted.

Will any time lost be refunded? (if it's more then a day)

The latency lag on EU right now is making PvP rather un-fun. I keep getting stuck in the shield charge animation. I do not expect this to go away when the servers move to Europe as i've seen it happen on the US server with US players as well. Seems to be that the servers just don't cope well with the current maximum allowed players. I am worried that the 1 30 day campaign we are getting will be like this all the time.

I wonder how many posts going to be about:
"I Lag even when EU server are in EU!!!! Mostly cause my own ISP and system, but I blame Zenimax!!!"

Server lag? You mean 200 players battling in Cyro right now......without any lag to speak of?
No, my latency to Frankfurt atm is 15ms. Latency to Texas is 180 ms, that is a lot more than 50 ms. And 180 is on a good day. Bad days can be up to 400 ms.WyndStryke wrote: »The latency lag on EU right now is making PvP rather un-fun. ... True. The extra network lag going from the EU to NA is maybe something like 50ms, which is too small to notice compared to the server lag. So I very much doubt whether anyone will notice an obvious difference.
Why are you bothering, after all back in March Matt posted:ZOS_JessicaFolsom wrote: »Will this mean the servers will be offline for an extensive time?

So what's the point? Our testing has now confirmed that millions of players from Europe (and beyond) can play on our North American server and experience ESO as it was designed—without latency or lag problems.
