    How is jabs performing?

    I might get to test it later today. I wonder if the game flagging it as the "ill-advised morph" when skilling the character should tell me something ?

    I more concerned about when puncturing strikes will be finally reliable in any any battle beside static. Damage fix is important but problem when you can't even hit target infront of you is far worse.
    Screenshot I showed is from live and I don't know if it became worse on pts:
    SZbYVHi.gif

    That was just a quick recording, you can get such easily by simply dueling, but it show obviously enough what is wrong with strikes - on image, despite target is in front of caster, all 4 attacks missing it!

    That started to happen after changing strikes direction from camera pov to char pov. when enemy strafing you simply cant use movement to strafing same way too in addition that small cone make even small deviations from pathing to enemy resulting in missing hits and cone area is "blinking" into rudiculously different directions that making hits miss even when enemy in cone area. And when target has major speed buff or server lags that is common nowdays - you simply can forget about hitting it...

    I see 2 ways to fix it:
    1. Change cone area of skill and both morphs back to when morph effect of Puncturing Sweeps was deals "damage in a large cone" instead of healing. As result it won't affect roots functionality but remove problem of strafing as even when enemy will be slightly out of caster pov they still will be in range of strikes and will be reliably hitted.
    Something like this, where red is current cone, blue is increased cone:
    cone1.jpg

    2. Change jabs direction back from following char pov to follow camera pov. It will affect roots functionality but will also solve this problem.
    With such fix jabs will always land infront of character instead of deviating left or right during movement.
    In this case it would be something like this always:
    cone2.jpg
    And will allow to use strafing or strafing+forward+backward movement reliably without hurting functionality of skill.

    @ZOS_GinaBruno @ZOS_Wrobel

    No thanks. No more changing *** for the sake of changing it. Just fix what doesn't work then if it's unbalanced, change it

    Coming to fix thread to say that you don't want fixes...

    Read my post. It clearly says fix it, not change it. We don't want a repeat of the CA change because ZOS couldn't / wouldn't fix the exploit.

    But it "bugged" coz it was changed, so way to fix it is to change back to unbugged versions.

    @Cinbri can you make a master list of Templar bugs that currently exist on live and pts? I think Gina would be most appreciated so she can pass that info on.

    I sent something like this to zos. One of the old problems that no one bothered anymore was that soft cc snare from jabs was blockable for some reason, despite stoped being hard cc effect. And since already in first pts patch it became unblockable means they atleast did read it. Btw why it not mentioned in patchnotes?
    In meanwhile enjoy new Backlashes that is possible to stack on 1 enemy :trollface:

    The problem is that some bugs related to combat mechanics like Sweeps cone problem I described above.
    @ZOS_GinaBruno should I make short list of most obvious bugs and send to you? Tho as said main one are already in thread and since some of it was fixed it was seen.

    Sweeps is less.

    Burning Light is also hitting for less.

    Interestingly, Structured entropy is hitting for exactly the same amount.

    Are Puncturing Sweeps and Burning Light the only two abilities that deal less damage in that Class Skill tree or are the others also affected by it? @Joy_Division Burning Light seems to deal way less damage.

    @ZOS_GinaBruno

    @Alcast

    Some quick testing did seem to indicate that the other Aedric Spear abilities (Spear Shards, Radial Sweeps, Javelin), were doing the same damage. Sometimes Bruning Light was and sometimes, as in my screenshot, it wasn't.

    A lot of stamina morphs are showing up as "ill-advised" even on stamina characters. Ambush/SA is showing up as ill-advised on stamblade. Dark Deal and hurricane on stam-sorc. Even when you have a max stam pool.

    ZOS wanted each 3 skill branches do a certain role. Like Warden. It's already happening with Nightblade's skill line.
    So, where are Punctiring Sweeps located? In Aedric line which is for tanking. No damage in tanky branch! Use uninterruptible Dark Flare now

    Templars will need a huge overhaul if they want to follow through with that design intent.

    Aedric spear, is clearly the intended DPS tree, but it has tank skills as well (blazing shield, block passive, spell resist passive).
    Here's what I think might happen:
    - jabs gets moved to Dawn's wraith tree. Eclipse gets moved to aedric spear tree.
    - radiant ward or toppling charge given some sort of soft CC.
    - burning light passive moved to Dawn's wraith tree. Ultimate generation passive/duration buff passives moved to aderic spear line. Tanks generate ulti or need more seconds to control effects while dps needs burning light.
    - rest tree stays the same

    That's what I think might happen. A swap between Dawn's wraith/aedric spear. They might rename the trees too.

    Probably one of those players who didn't know what it was like before it was broken... so he believes how it is currently on Live is how it has always been... but it is NOT.

    Jabs was just as bad for missing your target on live server. You can have your enemy INSIDE one the spears...but will not get damage. I've figured out that it has to do with the point where the skill begins lags behind you, the caster. So even if you are INSIDE of jabs it will not hit....

    The heal was already *** on live in PVP. Not worth relying on as a heal, barely helps mitigate due to how hard it misses.

    I'm telling you...without any buffs. If they just fix the damage scaling. Fix the issues on live. The skill won't need anything else...just plain fixed. Horrible that we can't rely on it.

    Have they fixed the problem with Templar damage modifier stacking? Fixing this on other classes ages ago and failing to fix it on Templars for so long (despite SO MANY people begging them to fix it) feels borderline malicious and intentional at this point.
